If you don't mind to pay RM 160 annual fees (first year is waived), you can try HLB Wise. It has some criteria to achieve though, check out its individual thread on this section.
Recommendation for Credit Cards V3, Please post according to Format stated.

QUOTE(azizikhan @ Sep 28 2015, 11:23 AM) Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback. I plan to get the AMBank Visa Infinite as well. Usually in Australia I pair my VISA with AMEX because it provides best points/rewards. I wish to do the same in Malaysia. Why didn't you take Maybank 2 Cards Premier? https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3135958As for the Platinum Card, I'll also be travelling a lot so it has more value for me in hotels etc. For everything else I'll use my AMBank Infinite Visa. Points conversion will be into Enrich primarily or One World partners. Cheers, AK |

QUOTE(azizikhan @ Sep 28 2015, 11:42 AM) It's on my list too at the moment. Just that I'm leaning more towards the other bank because I will be working for them... You can have AmBank and Maybank as well, no restrictions on your cards quantity so long banks approve. Other than that I thought very highly of Maybank 2 Cards Premier. Mind you I haven't been living or working in Malaysia for over 16 years so I have limited view based on what I read... I can tell you that you get so much more credit card benefits than in Australia. Promotions in Australia are often boring...unless its concert tickets etc. Cheers, AK |

QUOTE(justice_alive @ Sep 28 2015, 12:01 PM) Let me be frank to you, getting first credit card for installment purpose is definitely not a good practice. Buy only if you can afford. Save first. QUOTE(azizikhan @ Sep 28 2015, 12:02 PM) Hey Fruitie, For Maybank 2 Cards Premier usually starts from RM 30k. Thanks for your response. That is an option too. I don't have any issue with credit (pre-condition for working in a bank Do you know what would be an average credit limit for these cards ? Cheers, AK All the best! |

BNM rules for credit limit is 2-3x of your basic monthly salary. This doesn't to apply to higher end cards.
Once your salary increases, you can request bank to increase for you. However, they may require latest three months of payslip from you and yet still up to their discretion to increase or not to. Higher credit limit means higher credit exposure. I have 10 credit cards and total CL is 4-5x of my annual basic salary, few hundred thousands. I'm not sure if my housing loan will be easily approved or not later, when the time comes I will request banks to reduce my CL. So high CL is not really an advantage actually. So long, it is enough for your normal usage then it is considered OK already. |

QUOTE(chiiupe @ Sep 29 2015, 11:39 PM) 1. Annual Income: RM36K 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No (But able to waive) 3. Card required for: List all your needs (spending as below) Insurance - 180 AIA Retail - 150 to 400 (not from department stores) Groceries - 100 TnG - 150 Maxis - 70 (Additional if able to get good cash back) Utilities - 250 UNIFI, 200 TNB Groceries - another 400 4. Existing credit cards if any: None 5. Looking at CC from: Maybank 2 Crads & UOB Lady QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Sep 29 2015, 11:57 PM) I hope your salary is not exactly RM 36k or below, if not you can only have two issuing banks' cards, it means you will need to give up one of your existing cards.Else, if it is RM 36,001 and above then you can have as many cards as you like but subject to banks' approval. If like this, you can apply for HLB Wise suggested by alexanderclz but it has AF that is not able to waive. If not, you can try Maybank Ikhwan and it is a free for life card. |

QUOTE(fly126 @ Oct 2 2015, 01:51 AM) Annual Income: RM32,400 OR RM324,000...??? I believe it's 324,000. IF with Annual Income: RM 324,000 = Maybank 2 Cards Premier https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3135958 OR Ambank World Mastercard/Visa infinite https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=76555929 BUT, If You Only Earn RM32,400 p.a = HLB Wise, Which's Good for Utilities Payment https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3590192 |

QUOTE(kkk8787 @ Oct 4 2015, 12:57 PM) This is different. Take the normal Ikhwan not Petronas Ikhwan and you will have 5% cash rebate (up to RM 50 per month) for groceries and petrol on Fridays and Saturdays.P/s: have a look at my signature. QUOTE(kkk8787 @ Oct 4 2015, 01:26 PM) oppsie...fruitie... You can but if Maybank approves or not that's a separate discussion. Ikhwan has high tendency to reject applications, I have the MBB2Plat as well and being rejected by them twice, just requested to split limit again. I already have the maybank 2 cards platinum visa...can supplement with this?? any restrictions or cons of this card Now you can proceed to this thread for discussion: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3394127 |

QUOTE(azizikhan @ Oct 4 2015, 02:20 PM) I noticed many people here use multiple cards for points, cashback etc. Is it better ? Or just use one or two cards ? ie like Maybank 2 Cards Premium ? Depends on your usage. If you have a high spending and want to maximize cash back, of course you will need few cards to fully maximize it. |

QUOTE(Eulm585 @ Oct 5 2015, 10:16 PM) 1. Annual Income: RM33k Honestly, there is no credit card that is specifically for gym monthly subscription.2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes 3. Card required for: Monthly installment for gym membership, 4. Existing credit cards if any: None 5. Looking at CC from: Using a Cimb bank account if that matters. 6. Others: wont be spending much on the credit card but need one just incase + gym installment. I wont be using the CC too much so hopefully i can get one thats the lowest maintainence without extra charges when i barely use the CC. Thank you for your time I'm attached to Celebrity Fitness and it is with my AmEx, I just earn Maybank treat points only. Else, you can try RHB Evo but not too sure if it has discount for gym subscription, you can try. http://rhbgroup.com/products-and-services/...vo-credit-card/ |

QUOTE(Eulm585 @ Oct 6 2015, 05:34 PM) No tips. Just apply online or go to CIMB KLCC for e.g. is one of the centres which gives 1-hour approval and you will get your card.Of course it is still subject to bank's approval. Some will require latest 3 months payslip and/or EPF statement. |
