hmmm... I'm still gaming in 1080p 60hz monitor. That's as far as my card can go for me. However, I definitely would wanna try higher refresh rate mons. Then again, I'm not sure if I'm willing to turn off a few settings to do that though.

No, it's a boring as fudge RTS. It's also terribly unbalanced at the moment.

Will need to see if new drivers going to improve the performance or not. Currently, AMD is kicking ass with DX12. Then again, it's only ONE benchmark. In anycase, still very interesting to see. rclxms.gif

Good information. Not quite sure where're all those comments about Nvidia purposely gimp their Kepler's performance coming from.

I have both R9 390 and GTX 970, and I can tell you that they exchange blows.

It very much depends on the clock speed, they exchange blows, for example PowerColor R9 390 is faster than stock GTX 970 but trails very close to overclocked GTX 970.

R9 390 generally offers better price to performance ratio at the expense of being the hotter card.
*
Not sure about Power Colour R390 but one of the factor of me going Asus 970 is because my damn case cannot fit the sapphire 290. Not to mention my PSU is also only 520w. >_<

Now can make an MSI and Corsair themed build. laugh.gif

Most probably without any backplate for this. First the EVGA version and then this. Both also have kinda ugly shroud. The vanilla NVidia shroud looks way better IMO. sad.gif

Quick question, is the GTX970 capable of running the latest games at maximum settings on 1680x1050 resolution?
*
Generally runs mostly on ULTRA settings for 1080 resolution. May I ask why are you still using 1050 mon?

Hello guys, I'm currently using R9 380x looking for an upgrade with 3k budget.. any recommendation?
*
You might want to add a little bit more and then get the cheapest "non-reference" 980ti. Else you can try your luck with a 2nd hand 980ti. Some are selling around 2.8k+-. Personally, if possible, I will wait a little (you know, with AMD and Nvidia pushing new cards soon).

There's a short TED talk about why x became the standard letter representing an unknown, linked below

In short it is the English or Latin ver of the Greek letter x(chi) which was first letter of transliteration of Arabic word for something which was used in the original algebra texts

Holy crap! That is definitely some interesting fact there. Thanks for sharing this. smile.gif

Pretty awesome..
But i am curious how do you know if my PSU are able to support this GTX960? hehehe laugh.gif
*
Your PSU (Xigmatek NRP602) in ur siggy? If my 550w PSU can survive both an overclocked i5 and 970, then I think your 600w PSU will have no issue.

I have this issue with my 970 all these while. DP will have this problem. Happens randomly though. I will need to power off and restart. Or instead, just sticks to HDMI. No issue what so ever. Not really a fix but am just too lazy to get it fixed.

Just curious, any difference between the "black" version and other normal reference blower? One things for sure, the black colour makes it more bad ass! hehehe... smile.gif

Worth or not worth really depends on the price and what you use it for. I think you'll get your answer once the reviews and pricing is out.

Or, if you are more interested in a rather "neutral" point of view...

Agreed on those who invited are not to be trusted.

If what you say are true, then its now instead of nGreedia it's become nGimpdia.

I'm going to stop here because it seems pointless because a lot of speculation. The actual performance of these card is still largely unknown since it's still under NDA
*
Yes, that's true. Without proper reviews, all we can see are just numbers printed on the box. haha...
