Some interesting benchmarks for 980ti vs 1080 by Tek Syndicate and Paul's HardwareWith the embargo expired, we can expect to see more benchmarks published in short notice. Critically, hope this will calm all the panic selling I have noticed in Garage Sales This post has been edited by richard912: May 18 2016, 06:26 PM

QUOTE(chriswoo @ May 23 2016, 08:38 AM) I think Ti edition estimate between rm 3300 to rm 3800 max after all they don't want to risk their market clashing with titan version. Nor do they want to overprice themselves against Red team. Something interesting to watch from Gamers NexusThis post has been edited by richard912: May 23 2016, 10:14 AM

Asus always priced higher for some reasons. In any case, expect to see prices at a high until the initial euphoria wears off.

Suddenly the cards seem to have so many bling bling LED which to me is quite redundant especially if you don't have a windowed case. Could have saved some cost and passed this on to us, the users

QUOTE(dlct87 @ May 28 2016, 02:36 PM) seems like MSI has 5 different configuration of gtx1080? what are the differences? Base and boost clock differences as well as cooling. Sea Hawk and Gaming X versions look very promising with the former on permanent OC while the latter is on switchable OC modes. Also notice that some of the AIB cards are still on 6+8 pin for power This post has been edited by richard912: May 28 2016, 03:23 PM

QUOTE(dlct87 @ May 28 2016, 03:47 PM) I am not familiar with OC, not gonna do OC stuff either but permanent OC sounds...dangerous to me for some reason lol will it shorten the lifespan of the card? Factory set OC is generally "safe" because they would have included better cooling to balance it. In the case of the Sea Hawk, it come with an AIO cooling

QUOTE(nabelon @ May 28 2016, 10:42 PM) thinking of ordering 1080, any recommended seller ? and what should i pair it with if i only want 1080p gaming with 144hz. Thanks if you only want 1080p at 144hz, you have lots of choices. You need to first answer 2 questions: 1. What's your budget, and 2. What's your preferred monitor size. With a 1080, you should really be considering 1440p though but please, consider IPS and not TN screens

QUOTE(SSJBen @ May 30 2016, 04:15 PM) Now all that's left to wonder is how well the 1070 will actually OC. These reviews don't know jack about pushing the limits. Good luck to 980Ti sellers though. Higher than 1070 price, no one will buy. Lower than 1070 price, you lose nearly 50% of the price on the 980Ti depending on model. With falling prices, current 980ti owners could consider SLI by picking up another unit.

QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Jun 2 2016, 09:04 AM) It seems like I will most likely getting 1070 OC ver instead of 1080 after reading the review. The dollar per performance of 1070 is much better than 1080. I can use the xtra funds to invest on my 2k monitor or use it in getting my PS4 Neo on Sep However, most likely I will not be doing SLI for it as I plan to make M-ATX form factor instead of ATX. I'm still struggling whether I should go for either one of these. With a MATX mobo, you still have the option to SLI later since they do have 2 PCIE slots. Unless you intend to use one of them for PCIE SSD, an MITX mobo will be "smaller" if SLI is off

QUOTE(Demonic Wrath @ Jun 2 2016, 05:47 PM) Dealers selling NV cards at markup price is not NVIDIA's fault... NVIDIA can set MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) but dealer/distributor can sell at a higher retail price... Almost every new electronic launch is sold at a markup price i.e. iPhone, Fury X, now GTX1080.. Remember Fury X launch? It was sold up to USD 900 on Amazon. Why? Because there are people willing to buy at a significantly markup price to own it first. (supply-demand) Wait for the dust to settle first. Yes, agreed. Those who can wait should hold off until the euphoria dies down. Current prices are also significant higher due to supply constraints.
