I wonder will $599 "ref" edition will have 2 x8 pin like non-FE to maximize OC performance compare to 1x8pin.
getting the $699 to slap a waterblock is kinda waste the $100.

MSI released a $599 version of 1080. It's using reference PCB and blower style cooler. I think Galax made them too. So, there are 8-pins non-FE versions.

GTX 1080 TI is in the works by Nvidia according to a rumour.It would be 50 percent more powerfull than GTX 1080.

Buy XB271HU Monitor with GTX 1080 Estimate Cost RM6K++

Plan B,
Buy 24" (1080p Gsync 144hz) Monitor with GTX 1070 (or lower spec GPU). Estimate Cost RM4K

That's the plan. Wait another few months. Earlier thinking of getting GTX980 but since Pascal is around corner, I have been waiting until now.

Actually I don't plan to buy monitor first but I don't fancy paying RM3K cash. Installment plan (0% interest) deal looks good that's why I took it. Can't find another place with this offer.

I read some thread, that some people bought GPU from overseas. Since is much cheaper in the US. Is it worth the exercise ?

...that's the sound of my small hope/thought of getting the GTX 1070 disappearing into thin air after seeing the price.

Will stick with my current card for as long as I can hold out.

GTX 1070. Booking for the custom aib one. Visit Idealtech Facebook and pm them for the price. They told me stock is limited so I might just take any brand of GTx 1070 that they can allocate.

I'm fine with my current card as I only game at 1080p. Just a 'possibility' only of getting the GTX 1070 as a nice performance boost and perhaps future proofing when I upgrade my display to 1440p/4k. If the card is above RM2k then its an absolute no-go. If below RM2k, then it will be a maybe. Will see if the price settles.

Really love the new reference cooler design. It's so nice compared to the previous generation designs.

They've added backplate to it which is a really neat touch. Last time GTX 980 Ti reference, no backplate. Ugly like silly.

Hence the RGB colors on the cooler shroud that many brands are promoting on AiB units are useless.

It's the part of the graphics card I see the least, I think I see the I/O more than the fans once it's in place.

Gonna get me one of these case. easy to manage cable and got removable drive bay.
