Hi sifus, I'm looking for a car for my sales job and prefer more safety, fuel saving, and reliability. My budget allows me for Honda City 1.5L S or VIOS 1.5J (AT).
So far from what I research, seems VIOS have more safety like vehicle stability control and fuel saving on par with City with CVT.
I'm not expert in this so would like to ask, what do you think?
Thanks
Comparing City S & Vios J,
Active safety wise they are the same, 2 airbags, VSA, BA etc.
City add on hill start assist.
Interior wise, subjective so not going to comment, but you get center arm rest for Vios.
QA wise, I think Vios better than City, at least I see much lesser complaint for Vios compared to City, which City flooded with tons of complaint about interior noise, panel gaps, rusting etc.
(You can check City forum, I'm not bashing City simply for bashing, I kind of like the interior of City more than Vios. But whether their complaint true or not, only real City owner knows.)
I owning the Vios model with VVTi + 4 speed auto, but my friend just bought the FL dual VVTI + CVT. I noticed some improvement there.
VVTI + 4 speed auto - engine mounting noise, glove box sometimes got minor noise, RPM definitely higher when on highway due to 4 speed auto, but all other are good.
Dual VVTI + CVT - no more engine mounting noise, rear boot open sound minimized, engine more quiet, RPM lower due to CVT thus lead to more fuel saving.
