or.. u can try size 16's as it gives the best equivalent:
Tire Size Equivalent Diameter
205/45R16 23.3X8.1R16 23.3"-1.7%
135/70R16 23.4X5.3R16 23.4"-1.3%

215/45R16 23.6X8.5R16 23.6"-0.4%
195/50R16 23.7X7.7R16 23.7"Equal
185/55R16 24X7.3R16  24"+1.3%
225/45R16 24X8.9R16        24"+1.3%

205/50R16 24.1X8.1R16 24.1"+1.7%
175/60R16 24.3X6.9R16 24.3"+2.5%
195/55R16 24.4X7.7R16 24.4"+3.0%
135/80R16 24.5X5.3R16 24.5"+3.4%
215/50R16 24.5X8.5R16 24.5"+3.4%
245/45R16 24.7X9.7R16 24.7"+4.2%
125/90R16 24.9X4.9R16 24.9"+5.1%
205/55R16 24.9X8.1R16 24.9"+5.1%
225/50R16 24.9X8.9R16 24.9"+5.1%

the middle portion gives range of -0.4% to +1.3%.

best is to go for 195/50/16 in this case.
*
:: 195/50 is almost same like stock size right? its 185/60.but it still can fit nicely with 17inch with correct et,jj and tyre size
thanks

Hi all,

I am currently trying to choose between Vios J or E variant.
TOYOTA sales adviser said currently they have RM6K discount, and TOYOTA website indicates the following "freebies":

Attached Image
Attached Image

While J variant equip with DVD-AVN, but E variant have an extra item called "Infotainment", so what does this added "Infotainment" gives?

From what the sales adviser told, different between J and E are front fog lamp and electronic retractable side mirror only.
I know these are not all, so I looked at the spec. and noticed a few more differences such as:
  • Turn indicator at side mirror
  • Rear seat 40/60 foldable and arm rest
  • Scuff plates
Besides the items listed above, what else does E variant have while J variant don't?

For the extra few thousands ringgit, I wish to know if I will get something that I will regret if I go for J variant.

Please help and thank you in advanced. notworthy.gif

Wow, DVD-AVN for J spec? that is nice. I bought J spec last July no DVD-AVN plus reverse camera cry.gif but got RM6k rebate.
For me J spec sufficient enough. Besides the small differences with E specs. Even extra few THOUSAND ringgit also is accountable. Can change new wide sport rims to reduce swaying during cornering. As for me icon_rolleyes.gif

bro, if you insist on 17's... following is the best setup:
205/40R17 23.5X8.1R17 23.5"-0.8%
215/40R17 23.8X8.5R17 23.8"+0.4%

do take note that 215/40 or 205/40 is an odd size... hence i guess you need to prepare extra sum of fund for it.

i've found the price at autoworld forum as followed:
Falken ZE522 - RM198 Excellent Speed (Kepong) (Apr-14)
Falken ZE522 - RM180 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Dec-14)
Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 - RM350 Hin Leong Klang (Mac-15)

Falken is considered entry level tyre hence the cheaper price.. but its dated back in 2014.

if you go with the common size of 215/45/17, your meter reading with be off at +3.8%:
215/45R17 24.6X8.5R17 24.6"+3.8%

of course, you will have plenty of tyre options:
215/45R17
Achilles ATR - RM225 Ah Kit Shah Alam (May-14)
Achilles ATR - RM215 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Sep-14)
Continental MC5 - RM340 Speed Tyre at Batu Gajah, Ipoh (Apr-14)
Continental MC5 - RM320 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Dec-15)
Continental MC5 RM 305 at Hin Leong, Klang (Jan-15)
Falken 453 (Japan) - RM400 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Apr-14)
Falken ZE912 - RM238 Excellent Speed (Kepong) (Apr-14)
Falken ZE912 - RM 220 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Dec-14)
Firestone (Japan) - RM350, Akina Pro Tyre, BM, Penang (Apr-14)
Firestone (Japan) RM 280 at Hin Leong, Klang (Jan-15)
Michelin PS3 - RM405 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Mar-15)
Michelin PS3 - RM405 Hin Leong Klang (Mar-15)
Michelin PS3 - RM450 ( B ) KLH Car & Tyre Service, Jln Ipoh (Jun-14)
Michelin Primacy 3ST (China) - RM470 Speed Tyre at Batu Gajah, Ipoh (Apr-14)
Michelin Primacy 3ST - Rm365 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Mar-15)
Nitto NT555 (Japan) - RM400 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Apr-14)
Roadstone N7000 (Korea) - RM290 Speed Tyre at Batu Gajah, Ipoh (Apr-14)
Toyo C1S (M'sia) - RM450 Speed Tyre at Batu Gajah, Ipoh (Apr-14)
Toyo C1S (Japan) - RM480 Speed Tyre at Batu Gajah, Ipoh (Apr-14)
Toyo C1S (Japan) - RM440 (B+A+N) Friendly at Ampang, Ipoh (May-14)
Toyo C1S RM 405 at Hin Leong, Klang (Jan-15)
Toyo NanoEnergy 3 RM (M'sia) RM 310 at Hin Leong, Klang (Jan-15)
Toyo TeoPlus (M'sia) RM 390 at Hin Leong, Klang (Jan-15)
Toyo T1Sport RM 410 at Hin Leong, Klang (Jan-15)
Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R - RM550 Tee 3 Auto & Tyre Service S/B (Batu Caves) (Sept-14)
Yokohama AD08R - RM550 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Sept-14)
Yokohama S-Drive - RM350 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Jan-15)
Yokohama C-Drive 2 - RM315 Weng Heng Bukit Kemuning (Sept-14)
Yokohama AR01 RM 315 at Hin Leong, Klang (Jan-15)
Yokohama S-Drive - RM420 Tee 3 Auto & Tyre Service S/B (Batu Caves) (Sept-14)

hope above info helps.

the default setup is so soft its a tail happy car.

3in1 is the device that provide the following:
1. Central lock via brake or speed limit
2. autofold side mirrors
3. buzzer sound upon car door lock/unlock via your remote

Thanks RoxyMunky, looks like this 3 in 1 device is a must have for Vios and I am so surprised to realized the original setup that the door will not lock when the car start moving... shakehead.gif
Autofold side mirror only suitable for J variant right? Because E or G already have this?

EDIT: forgot to mentioned, I am ok with soft suspension, in fact, I always complain my current national car's stiff suspension, I hate it.
I prefer comfort drive, mostly city driving, I'm not the racer type of driving style.

Haha... I'm not even book the car yet, was considering whether J or E... hmm.gif
By the way, I wish I could support you, but too bad I stay in Penang... cry.gif
Unless your device can be DIY (install ourselves) then I can order from you by post. icon_rolleyes.gif

yea same thought, why not new gen City. Anyway, it would have been nicer if Vios is equipped with VSC.

this surprised me... from my driving experience.... City feels much more subtle over Vios.

Yes, Vios don't have traction control at all.

Just went to Toyota this morning, the sales assistant can't make it to meet me so he asked his colleague to look at my car to evaluate the price.
When I asked the guy some questions about Vios, he seems not knowledgeable because I think he is from technician department? He said I better ask sales person... tongue.gif

By the way, rear seat 60/40 folding is quite useful to my usage, may I know if E variant have it and J variant confirmed don't?

Thank you! notworthy.gif
