To my understanding, Vios radiator fan has 2 speed mode, but just recently, I discovered my ncp42 Vios does not engage high speed at all but only low speed, now the compressor got sound d and I think that the this is the main culprit. I have tried swapping my ncp93 vios relay to ncp42 vios, still not working. Much appreciated if anyone can provide constructive advice.

Thanks. icon_rolleyes.gif

Never mind, finally solved it by chucking away the low speed relay switch and now it is running high speed all the way.

because of missing VSA in city? low spec City have no VSA i think.
btw why not vs new gen of city  sweat.gif
*
yea same thought, why not new gen City. Anyway, it would have been nicer if Vios is equipped with VSC.

this surprised me... from my driving experience.... City feels much more subtle over Vios.

Yes, Vios don't have traction control at all.
*
it could be because of the City weight distribution is not as even as Vios, I assume.

i bought secondhand vios 1st gen.. what i do is just changing new lubricant oil. is there any issue for 1st gen vios that i need to take note since u guyz have alot problem with brand new vios.. i feel abit cautions about my car durability
*
I was also in the same situation, I changed my driveshaft rubber boot (check if it is in good condition cuz my unit both sides has torn), automatic fluid (old oil is very dark) & fan belt. Remaining problems are power steering minor oil leakage & left absorber as well.

i see im a bit lucky buying these car.. everything are in perfect shape only the aircond got problem when not moving (in hot days) the aircond not cool.. but run perfectly cool in cool condition eg: raining and night.. maybe the fan problem.. anyone knows how much to fix these? just a head-up before i ask workshop
*
I washed my aircond filter and it is now cold and better wind power. So it could be one of the reasons.

tried to find my vios filter under the dashboard drawer.. but cant seem to open the slot.. how do u find it?
*
This is what I do, I found it in the inner part of glove box removing glove box (this is a good guide to remove it)

1, then take the filter out
2. use brush to brush away the dust & residuals
3. take pail water mix with washing powder
4. soak in it for an hour
5. take the filter out and use water shower head and squirt it through the water until it is clean
6. done

Or the steps above are troublesome, replace a new one. thumbup.gif

Oem aircond filter can wash?

I only gt one problem with my vios 2015. Aircond blew strange smell due to i put car perfume, dust n perfume stuck together , hot sun high temperature cause the smell , told by service officer .
Laugh die me .

I wash mine every 10k, won't change it unless it the fibre is torn then no choice. It is important to wash because if your filter is not doing the job, then it is going to affect your coil. Coil no good then require dashboard dismantled out, I would totally want to avoid this.

So far my NCP93 is doing good since new as I exercise washing quite frequently. Now, NCP42 which I firstly bought a month ago was very dirty. Guess the pre-owner was not aware of the importance sweat.gif

Vibration Issues on 07' Vios.

The past few weeks, as I step on the throttle, I can feel mild vibration coming from the engine compartment, pretty sure it is not the poor condition engine mounting kind of vibration.

Vibration comes when it engages 1st,2nd,3rd until 4th gear, it goes back to normal. Anyone experiences same stuff and know what may be the causes?

Throttle body? checked,it has been cleaned.
Spark Plugs & coil? had emreplaced,so nope.
Everything stock n ori?Yes

I own a Vios'07 (First gen), mileage only 72k but drive shafts are already making sound, mild vibration felt on the floor from during 1st-3rd gear,4th gear smooth pula and confirm power also deteriorates already.

Thinking to replace both sides, have been looking for genuine parts but all rocket price (RM880 per side Ori Toyota Thailand quoted by some supplier, installation not included pula, jeez). Feel like anything beyond RM1.5k for both sides are ridiculous, any cheaper solutions?
