Toll rates for Mex, Silk and Karak highways to go up on Thursday

Users of three highways will have to pay higher tolls of up to RM3 starting Thursday, as the concessionaires of Kajang-Silk Highway (Silk), Maju Expressway (Mex) and the KLK Highway bump up rates.

East-bound vehicles passing by the Gombak and Bentong Plaza tolls on the KLK Highway will have to pay between 30 sen and RM3 more depending on the class of vehicles, starting Oct 15.

Toll rates at MEX will go up between 20 sen to RM3 while Silk tolls rates will go up between 40 sen to RM2.40 on the same day.

increase of toll rate is quite impacting , this will too urge ppl not to stay outskirt, stay in the town instead...

my god .. my path to seri kembangan everyday . RM1.30+RM1.80 x 2 way x 2 car ...    ... need to think very very carefully in hunting semenyih now d ..   

Silk with 80% increment is blardy hurting the pocket..

Almost everywhere also feel the impact now... Sprint even worse... 

Sprint : raise RM 1 - RM 3 | Class one: RM 1.50 -> RM 2.50 (Kerinchi), RM 1.00 -> RM 2.00 (Damansara), RM 2.00 -> RM 3.00 (Penchala)
Next price hike: Monorail and LRT by 31st Oct..  Take LRT / Monorail doesn't mean cheaper alternative...

Depending which route you are using..

If choosing Lekas - Semenyih/Kajang bypass - Cheras/Kajang Grand Saga - Loke Yew - Jalan Maharajalela - Masjid Jamek, the toll would be RM 1.30 (Lekas) + RM 1.30 (Grand Saga), compare to last time RM 1.10 + RM 1.00.

This is one of the cheapest routes.. But due to the MRT project, always jam packed during peak hour, when you reach Cheras Sentral.

The other cheaper route I could think of is using Ecohill link goes to Jalan Bangi Lama, then using the lousy trunk road going all the way to Putra Mahkota, exit to North South and goes to Sungai Besi. Toll rate RM 3.80. But after Sungai Besi, jam all the way till Jalan Istana during peak hour also..   

Lol still can avoid by doing so, if you don't mind traffic jam.

Follow Jalan Semenyih (no need to pay RM1.30 toll at Lekas)---LEKAS-Saujana Impian--Cheras Kajang Highway(CKE)--turn to Batu 11 Taman Indah exit at BTHO (escape RM1.30 toll again)--CKE--Jalan Cheras----Jalan Loke Yew--Majlis Jamesk.
