Was there during the school holiday...but during a weekend.
Pasar malam was on throughout the holiday and only on weekends if during normal time.
I stayed at an apartment by ChuaGin hotel....not too bad....but some room facing the karaoke is a little noisy....
If you want to have nice steamboat.....let me intro you to one....the shop is behind the row of shops facing the main brinchang road...and its call Highland restaurant. The food is fresh, not so much of balls but more ori food, like chicken slices, prawns, pork.....and lots of vege....

Just got back from Cameron Highlands 2 days ago.
the weather is not that cool, but not that hot either. Just right, though slightly cooler would be fine!

it rained slightly on the second day though.

we stayed at Strawberry Park Resort, located on a hill, secluded from the towns of Brinchang and Tanah Rata.

The food served was very nice, correlating with its 4 stars rating. But service was plain satisfactory, nothing more nothing less.

Here's an account on the hotel, the meal at OK Tuck restaurant @ Brinchang, etc :

For me food & quiet environment (Staying far from the main road) =Tanah rata..but for pasar malam, lousy food, noisy hotels & more shops= Brinchang

Starwberry park still remained the best for me...right on top of mountain summit, far away from main road..very relaxing...

I will be going there tomorrow, 27-29 June for 3D2N. Booked a local tour package which included:

1. utility express bus kl-cameron-kl

2. 1 half day leisure tour to Overview of tea plantation, Overview of vegetable terraces, Market square, Strawberry Centre, Honey Bee Centre, Sam Poh Temple, Rose Centre (entrance fee RM4 excluded), Butterfly garden and souvenir house (entrance fee RM5 excluded).

3. 1 half day agro tour to Exotic cactus farm with mini fruit orchard – apples, giant-sized lemons and 'dripping tomatoes', Strawberry farm with self picking of strawberries allowed., Beautiful flower nursery, Water-cress farm., Open terraces of conventional farming., Organic farming., Lettuce delight., Visit to a Chinese village.

4. 1 steambot dinner.

5. 1 night hotel stay at Brinchang Hotel.

This is actually a 2D1N package and I plan to stay there for another night.

My questions are:

1. I want to visit the time tunnel, is it working distance from Brinchang town? Hotel titiwangsa within walking distance to the place? How about the rose valley?

2. Anyone heard about flora de cottage? I found it in one of the website. Is it good?

3. Any place to recommend for breakfast at Brinchang?

4. I have seen many ppl recommend Ho's organic steambot, how about Cameron Organce Produce steambot?

thanks!

Time tunnel is about 1.5km uphill from Brionchang..1/2way to Kea farm. You can hike but will be very tiring...I have seen Mat Salleh hike up to Gunung brinchang & even travel by foot from Tanah Rata to brinchnag...so I think No problem of hiking up to time tunnel...just 1500m away..

Honestly this is one really good museum...bringing back my memory & also lotsa of old photos of Cameron since 1930 till now...even few ex- british came back & visit this museum contributing their personal photos to this museum.

Normal-lah..If low-land super hot, it sure affect the highland. If during the cooler months i.e from Nov-Feb, u will experience very cool temp @ CH

For eg from Nov-Feb, Avg temp day ~19-22C & night ~ 16C-17C...I hv recorded temp as low as 15C during Dec 2007.
But during May-Sept, temp during day ~25C & night ~19C

lovelybao123 - can advice on the agent contact no, local and what was the price?

I am planning a trip to Cameron, searched the internet for a while and finally i have decided to take bus to there and hire a local tour guide for a 2D1N trip.

From what i found is that there are tour guide to be hired @ main road of Tanah Rata, but can anyone confirm this? or have any recommendation? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

I actually don't mind paying and going and take a trip with agent if it is around RM300 per head.

Hotel titiwangsa is clean n neat. Price is reasonable, free breakfast and steamboat dinner.
Feel that dizzy from simpang pulai to CH.
Before planning go to CH must browse the weather forecast.
I went 2 days, 2 afternoon heavy rained.
Water cress velly meal was nice no ajinomoto.

Kavy I think is just a budget hotel, previously located at Tanah Rata & now moved to Brinchang.

Not sure about the flora hotel. Titiwangsa as reviewed by others....None of the hotels I stayed b4 so I reserved my comment
