If sayang bodykit, just take a full day tour to see the Rafflesia and one of the stop if I'm not mistaken sure include Boh Tea factory wan. Not so expensive ~ RM90/head..To track that rafflesia also >1/2 day liao and is far from town..in Lojing - Gua Musang!

If kancil can go up Genting which I did without any problem, going CH is much easier as the gradient is not as steep as Genting although the road there is more winding (Esp Tapah) and narrower.
BTW, bcos of the winding road, the gradient/steepness reduced haha. much easier to go up |

Up to you. Actually going down, using Tapah much better because of lower gradient as road winding - safer. Spg Pulai - certain area might be steep & less winding so..abit dangerous.. I almost kena acident going downhill using Spg Pulai on a none fully logic auto gearbox..really out of control and too fast..Remembered last year >20 Thais tourist lost their live using Spg Pulai road?
Added on February 9, 2012, 4:16 pmNormally ppl going down via spg pulai for Ipoh food haha This post has been edited by stimix: Feb 9 2012, 04:16 PM |

Haha..yes another good alternative. I remembered we discussed about it ~ 2yrs ago and you really did your own expedition to that incomplete road that time.. using the search engine I found your expedition here haha:
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...entry31640893 I will try this route if I'm thinking for another Holiday in Fraser & Cameron combined..I can use Raub to Sg Koyan in future..Right now CH just by stop by for Steamboat lunch or dinner on the way North/South haha..So kenot avoid using NSE. |

Most of the steamboat in Brinchang- Yes rubbish & diff pricing to the locals, tourist & even having weekend pricing.
For better & reasonable steamboats, try those in Tanah Rata.. much nicer ..You can either choose Mayflower (The best), or Hong Kong restaurant |

QUOTE(Effy92 @ Apr 12 2012, 12:51 AM) Hi, anyone has experience with KRS pine or Twin pine.. Yes I stayed at KRS many times now. Twin Pines is their 1st B&B & KRS their newest. Twin Pine is real B&B hostel concept wth shared bathroom. KRS is more for family & couple with own attached bathroom and clean. Planning to come cameron on 12 may for 2D1N 2 person, do i need to book first or just walk in ? Maybe i can just walk in because 12 may is not a public holiday..Which pine are better if single room option? 1 person 1 room, i dont mind if sharing bathroom with my friend, just want privacy room for bed. tq Yes you need to call them 1st to book and pay them by banking-in to their bank a/c. Walk-in depending on luck. If they said no more room, you can try walk-in but for sure I hate doing this bcos you will be walking from one hotel to another and check..furthermore walk-in rate is expensive bcos they know you are desperate for rooms |

As I said, Twin pines is more or less a hostel. You stay wth others. So the RM15 is those hostel style double decker/ single bed and you sleep wth strangers for sure. I din know KRS also having shared common batroom type of rooms bcos as fas as I know, all rooms in KRS are wth attached bathrooms. This common bathroom probably they convereted few rooms wth the attached batrooms and shared among the single bedded customers.. meaning other stragers in one room and shared the bathroom inside the room?

Shortest & fastest route from Shah Alam- Tapah for sure.
Very Far but cheapest toll- Bentong/Raub - CH Far, expensive toll but almost equal timing or later than Tapah - Spg Pulai |

QUOTE(little ice @ May 1 2012, 04:46 PM) - i went to CH with family when i was younger (15+ years ago), i remember a small hawker stall (like those hawker stalls rows in TR), there was one indian stall that make strawberry milk shake with farm fresh milk (not those goodday or the likes, really fresh from the farm). i wasn't sure where exactly it was, and didn't hunt for it due to lack of time. anyone know such stall still exist and where? really wanted to try it again as i remembered it was super nice! |

For RM99, much cheaper if you hv book KRS or TWin pines haha.. Anyway, those hotels/hostels are just an agent to bus co or tour co.. the small amt they charged you is commission they earned from you for asking them to book.I alway go direct rather than agents

Slow down for sure Tapah. I almost having accident when I came down using Spg Pulai due to less winding & going down too fast.. My auto gear that time don't hv fuzzy logic gear change..damn scary....Actually I also prefer going up via Tapah way for the same reason - less taxing to the gear. Interm of road wide, for sure Tapah wider than Fraser.. Fraser only built for 1.5car wide..That's why having diff timing going up & down
