what breakfast to eat at CH? i saw you guys talked about breakfast at tea boh plantation, nice ah? biggrin.gif

Selection of Tea - RM4.30/pax
Teacino (Classic/Caramel/XX) - RM3.30
Teh Tarik - RM3.30

I'm personally not really enjoying the food in that area, it's more like you are dining for the conceptual of the tea restaurant more than the food. The food just so so la and their tea was just okay only unless they really measure the quantity they put in and water filling in. Tried once their tea taste/ceremony and tour (have to pre-book), not bad. The taste is much better than what we buy(same type &grade) in that restaurant but one person if not mistaken is RM40.

For photographing and a decent cup of tea, I would prefer Sungai Palas BOH
For tasting better tea, I would prefer the Cameron Bharat Tea Shop(new) when u on your way to Tanah Rata from Ringlet. (In house specialty: Masala Tea, Cardamom Tea - RM5.50 each)

Why don't you consider using the newer Sg Koyan-Ringlet highway? It is about 20km shorter from KL (vs Simpang Pulai, and less steep since it ends at Ringlet, and not at Blue Valley). And cheaper in terms of toll as well, you only have to pay toll on the Karak Highway until Bentong. The basic route is: KL-Bentong-Raub-Sg Koyan-Pos Betau-Ringlet.

Note that there are no petrol stations between Sg Koyan and Ringlet. Last stop for fuel would be Sg Koyan (Shell, can't remember if there is Caltex there or not). From Raub, take the "Jalan Alternatif ke Kota Bharu" route, DO NOT take the route to Kuala Lipis. When you reach Sg Koyan, take a left towards Pos Betau. Minimal traffic. Watch out for the occassional landslide (and cows between Raub and Sg Koyan). You will come out at Bertam Valley which leads to Ringlet.

I've taken this route 3x already, and its been open over a year already. It's my preferred route to CH.

It's Mobil Petrol Station. Beside Mobil got a new shop - Nasi Ayam Gemas!

It has been launched eons ago! Are you anticipating accident? Better take public transport if you are such a bad driver. hmm.gif

Nope. I personally had drove using that road for several times. Just that I requires link or reference to "convince" some local bus to drive up there for an incoming group tour. Although the road had been officially launched, the route is showing C156 (if not mistaken) in Google map. Those bus driver not so convince to use the road as they claim the road is not properly maintain as holes/landslide in certain part of the road. They had decided to use Tapah road instead... Haiz, plus they from Bentong. I wonder why they need to use a long way instead of shortest path to reach the destination!?

Until now, still no luck of getting that resources. Wonder has anyone come across this articles or news? If yes, please drop me a link to the following reference. Tqvm.

Sometimes, the bus drivers do not want to take risk on:
- rarely used road.
- too few vehicles use.
- longer non-highway - more risk of accident due to corners, narrow roads, etc.
- buses brake constant going downhill on longer road.

Therefore, they prefer to take longer distance with highway, can't blame them.

However, if coming from Bentong, your recommended route is the nearest.

Understandable their intention!

From Bentong, roughly bout 2hours and 30minutes able to reach via sg koyan route. If using Tapah, it will takes bout 5hours plus to reach, tolls and petrol somemore...

Been upthere last week, traffic is bad especially after strawberry park up to kea farm...

Anyway, I got this confirmation from an ADUN of Cameron Highlands, the Sungai Koyan route is not officially gazette yet. Meaning that if anything happen between the road from Pos Betau to Lembah Bertam, insurance is not claimable. So drive that route with care! Please correct me if I'm wrong. Tq!
