There are no apt at RM150/nite in CH. Probably during weekdays, if u are lucky, u can begotiate to get RM170 for Villa Dahlia (Near CH resort)
During weekend normal rate for a apt wth 2 bedroom ~ RM200-RM250. For budget, you can get 2 guesthouse room at lotsa Tanah Rata hostel.such as Twinpine, KRS, Kang's, Fathers, Cameronian Inn & more. |

Read earlier review by traveler here:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=31583843 QUOTE(Traveler @ Jan 30 2010, 12:40 PM) Update from Cameron Highlands on the Sg Koyan-Ringlet new highway: About 9km remains uncompleted, at the Bertam Valley end of the highway; a mix of partially paved and completely unpaved (red earth, sometimes muddy, with deep ruts). The security guards there now say that the construction site is now closed to all traffic without permits (no idea where to get a permit, but I presume from the construction company), or unless you have construction site related business. I managed to get through because there were a bunch of SUVs and cars that came up around the same time, and I think the security guard took pity on us and didn't want to send us back. Some parts of the red earth section have quite deep muddy ruts and one of the Wiras managed to snag a big branch under the exhaust. Generally the sedans got through ok, but I think they probably scraped the bottom on some of the deeper ruts. There were occasional traffic jams with the construction lorries as some parts of the red earth trail was narrow (also one steep section). SUVs should have no problems crossing this stretch. |

You can get reasonable priced steamboat & better tasted at Tanah Rata..only RM13/head. |

Brinchang is a lousy place to stay - Noisy except some guys here given a high rating to Titiwangsa.
Otherwise you want cheap budget hotel/hostel & guesthouses, go for those in Tanah rata..Lotsa Ang Moh staying there such as father guesthouse, twinpinbe, KRS, Kang, cameronian Inn & etc...price in Tanah Rata & the food are much cheaper than the slaughtering houses at Brinchang |

Most of the guesthouses located at Tanah Rata..i.e the tranport & banking hub of CH. However Malaysian prefer stayingt near Brinchang bcos lotsa slaughtering restaurants & entertainment, pasar malam there & Tanah rata is abit quiet at nite..
only Mat Salleh prefer Tanah Rata bcos close to the Taxi & bus station & all guesthouses there full of Mat Salleh such as Twin pine, Father, Kang & more..you can use the search function for more option.. I always stay at KRS guethouse..~end of 2008, it's still new, clean & wth attached bathroom.. Astro is shared at each floor lobby. Good for 2 size almost like Genting 1st world but bathroom bigger than 1st world |

There are buses from KL or to Tapah & thereafter CH but i dun use bus service b4 so no idea.
BTW, KRS parking really limited. If the guesthouse full during weekend, parking will be a real problem! I once parked out near their sister hostel (Twin pine) & walk ~ 300m to the guesthouse... BTW, lotsa Mat Salleh also luv Father guesthouse..u cn check that one too..probably the most reviewed guesthouse by mat Salleh! |

Try this one..Instead of full day which cover Rafflesia trail, Butterfly farm, Boh plantation, u can opt for cheaper 1/2 day by exclude those butterfly farm & Plantation ~ RM60 only. I have marked the trail head of the hunt for rafflesia at N4 39.745 E101 29.329
U do need the orang asli & that Francis guy who drive the land rover...The Jalan Balak really scary... http://www.cameronsecrets.com/Articles/Loc...Rafflesia-Tour/ QUOTE(lonewolf @ May 24 2010, 02:14 PM) |

Better drive there-lah...public transport in CH is almost none. U reach there, just book 1 day or 2 days tour wth them ~ RM90/day.
