I'm not into scalloped frets, so probably won't make that "upgrade". I might change the tuners...... maybe gotoh or something like that. Will hit up Stewie Mac for that..... any recommendations??
Ooooooooh. Browsing through the catalog and saw this: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailp...e_Tremolos.html Might get one for my Les Paul-100...... Maybe when I decide to upgrade the trem and tuners on the RR3........ IF needed This post has been edited by blacktrix: Nov 11 2006, 07:38 PM |

Yeah... I already have 2 Fixed Bridge Les Pauls, and I wanted to try some Steve Vai/Satch but mainly Dragonforce, Trivium and Zakk style Tremolo solo stuff. Was really impressed by Dragonforce use of the trem bar..... really abusing it.... and wanted to try out.
Next year, probably no new guitar for me...... hopefully my amp deal does through.... but in 2008.... will be heading back to the states and get me a Dimebag Razorblade..... And if I had all the cash...... I would have gotten the RR1 already. Neck thru AND FR.... Unfortunately, I don't have the dough for that. Besides...... this is an X-mas prezzie, so can't really complain. This post has been edited by blacktrix: Nov 11 2006, 09:17 PM |

Oooooooh. Any where you would recommend I get an Edge Pro??? I just found out that the RR3 uses a low profile Trem..... Will that be a problem?

Well, interesting fact is that Sam Toteman aka The OTHER guy in Dragonforce uses an RR3 guitar and he certainly abuses the trem as well.... Only mods he did is probably just the pickups (DiMarzio Evolutions)

You should beat the crap out of that guy who said it..... Chords is basically a series of individual notes played together..... So if you can "chord" single notes, surely you should be able to play single notes too, right?
Soloing for example is MOSTLY the use of single notes played in a pattern, scale or sometimes just made up. So to answer your question.... YES. It is possible to play individual notes. As for my Pro.... I wanted to know someone who can help fix in a new Trem (If I get an OFR) AND set it up as well.... you guys listed a few sites to go to for how to tune and setup my trem..... can you list 'em down again? Thanks..... kinda excited this being my first FR guitar. And yes, I'm well aware that Sam Totman switched to Ibanez. It looks cool, but waaaaaaaay too expensive for me already. |

Well, I won't get a new Trem NOW...... just in case I'm not a "satisfied" customer..... Will probably get a new Coffin Case for it first though.
Thanks anyway..... will look you up when I DO want to swap in an OFR..... |

I can back that up. Testing out anything over fret 20 on the RR3 just plain sucked.

Alexi Laiho's LTD is hanging in MidValley's Guitar Collection....... 6K++
Thought of it, but need a double pickup option...... that's why went for the RR3. Also, had 2Vol and 1 Tone which I love already pre-wired....... And as for that Shadow guitar............ super buy man. Congrats on your purchase...... |

What fish? Water Fish??? (Only chinese would get it)
And as for plugging in via a regular speaker VS a proper guitar amp.... of course there's going to be tons of difference. If played at a too loud volume, your regular speakers might blow. I've seen it happen. Not a pretty sight. About the Electric sounding classic...... there are simulators (like the Boss Acoustic Simulator) or effects which MAY make your electric sound like an acoustic..... but even that..... won't sound like an acoustic (Unless you have a piezo system installed...... but that's a whole different issue AND bank balance)..... |

I remember one of our users uses a G9.2TT...... forgot who.... Hooked it up to a modified Vox AD30vt with an FX-loop and uses it as a power-amp as well. Raving about it.......
I stuck with the Vox Tonelab SE..... Extremely happy with it.... just made a Vai like distortion patch today..... boosted by my little ZW-44 overdrive. And I think I found my next guitar: http://www.scienceimage.csiro.au/mediarele...air-guitar.html Now with YouTube! This post has been edited by blacktrix: Nov 14 2006, 11:20 PM |

WOW. that's a seriously well crafted guitar. Beautiful smooth tones and a rich texture too.
I'd buy that if I haven't already bought my RR3. |
