Unlikely for PS3-slim haha... Sony claims that the NEXT-GENERATION CONSOLE, PLAYSTATION 3 will be enough to power the future for around 10-15 years more... So I guess in the mean time, the PS3 will be the latest game console from Sony for the next few years or decade... not counting portable consoles of course haha.

And when Sony releases slim versions of consoles, it's a sign that the next upgrade wil be just around the block; same like the original Playstation (PSOne) and Playstation 2(PS2 Slim). So I think by 2017 everyone would own a PS3 due to it's low price then, and the 2020 celebration can be bought on Blu-Ray discs... and also the PS3 will be able to receive more channels than Astro (maybe a merge???) because by 2020 I think PS3 can watch channels from around the world with 100Gbps internet speeds provided by TM haha... man I think Sony is putting a cap on the growth of technology for the next few years so it's a bad thing for us... and there's no doubt about that because they (Sony) is pretty much the LEADING expert on today's technology o when they said enough, it's enough... PS3 will be the max technology level for the next few years haha

Does this mean that PSP will become absolete in a few years from now? When did the PSP launched? 2004? Usually, consoles only last for 5-6 years. So, we still got time till 2010 then eh?

btw, current gaming pc platform can perform more than twice the pixels, textures, polygons than what the obsolete 7800GTX inside a PS3 could offer
but of course PS3 is way more economically compare to SLI 8800GTX with Q6600

Both for fat and slim.
But, I see no significance of upgrading my fat PSP to 3.71 M33 (DA).
Slim users shud coz it stops the UMD-cache for homebrew (wasting of memory)

if u gonna upgrade this 3.71 m33,u will not able to play homebrew games...
cuz this 3.71 m33 aren't combine with 1.50.
