Due to some privacy concern, some country even prohibit call recording and mute shutter sound.

I don't think Honor series can sell any much lower than RRP because they are web series, distributor is not encourage.

Comparing both Xperia and Honor regarding the earphone sound quality. Xperia offer more customization, such as equalizer, bass boost and environment simulation. For Honor 7, the player is pretty simple, interface was good, the sound is good, but hope to make some small adjustment interms of equalizer and bass. The DTS feature must turn on. The bass is quite deep compare to Xperia, the good thing is if you using a compatible earphone, with those 3 buttons, you may control pretty much everything like favourite, increase volume, pause, play, next, previous, etc. You will prompt to this function and there is some graphic tutorial. I love this feature, overall happy with it but the lack of equalizer gives a restricted feeling. Tested using FLAC file and Xiaomi Piston 3.

As can be seen, there's a seriously bad "Awake" activities since the device is turned on. Even when the device is in idle, "Awake" still happening. Hence, the deep sleep mode was not active. ROM update is desperately needed.

The type mail seems behaving weird? If you have the LED flashing for notifications, then it may cause wakelock too. I got no wakelock after i found the culprit.

The phone will be locked according to the time you set for screen lock time. The clock or animation should be off when your screen is locked. Mine screen lock is 30 second.
*
Let me restart and see. When my cover closed, the BIG CLOCK on smart cover showing nicely, but it stay on forever, i even put a timer on my other phone, after one minute still on....

Birdkai, i think the setting is some sort of confusing programming. Try playing around with the smart cover on and off setting. Mine some how work ok after i play around with the setting a few time  hmm.gif

This is.......kinda stupid. I just leave the animation On then, smiley face...what a joke. Please anyone if found out the same problem or solution for this situation, please share. (Smart cover grid ON, Weather OFF, Animation OFF) and the CLOCK keep showing unless you press the lock button.

Connection bad but SOT still 1 hr 36 minutes la. biggrin.gif

I still have to check mail and other stuff.

Can assure you, bad connectivity is critical. Like your phone gonna sync one simple thing, take 1 second to complete normally, but you got bad connectivity and throttled, it takes longer to complete the syncing, thus longer load time and wakelock.

I have tried your setting, and i'm having the same problem too. If using smart cover, we have to turn on the animation in order for the phone to turn off without showing the clock/weather info continuously. This should be software issue... sad.gif

I just hope at least we can change the smiley fast to somthing cooler. Remind me of forest gump.

Sorry noob question. Meaning H7 will detect your Smartband only will unlock? If your Smartband not detected then will not unlock is it?

Pretty much like car keyless entry?
*
Actually google implement smart unlock in this way, if you have any bluetooth paired device, you can add it as a trusted device, which act as a "Key". If your phone detect the bluetooth connection with your BT device, means you are using the phone, therefore you no longer required to input password/pin/fingerprint/pattern, however let say you stay too far from your phone or you didn't activate the BT device, you need to key in the password/pin/fingerprint/pattern manually.

Actually i think android implement this to fight Apple fingerprint scanner since they didn't have better solution during that time, and the implementation is pretty good and neat. The problem is not everybody has a BT device, and fingerprint scanner from Huawei is a breeze to use. I like it even more than just swiping to unlock, just touch to unlock is great isn't it.

If the scanner is in the front = yes.... Now it's at the back...have to PICK-UP the phone ...
*
Aiks, pros and cons....on the front, unable to manage by one hand, awkward when using one hand. At the back, can't use when flat on surface but support gesture like swiping down notification, taking selfie/photos and such. On the side? haven't test, maybe best of both world?

I wonder...not proven yet. Because need to adjust your eye level to the Iris scanner? how about in low light, how about in mix lighting, how about tilting, how about distance? Any video for the demonstration? wondering too.

Android face scanner failed kinda hard, implementation in lollipop is much improve but still inconsistency is still there.

Actually, LeMoto ZUK Z1 scanner is in front and also can navigate (like in H7) using the scanner itself... this is the best finger-print scanner implementation IMO. They call it U-Touch scanner/tech...

The main reason my point I emphasize the back scanner is bad design is because when we type using one-hand method, we already hold the phone more than half LOWER body in order to type or swipe the on-screen keyboard. Furthermore, the "menu" and "back" icon in Android interface is "usually" located at the top of the screen which makes one-hand operation is totally a bizarre experience. Therefore, having the finger-scanner in the front enable the user to tap it and invoke either "menu" command or "back" command A S SOON AS after typing.

If the scanner is at the back, after typing a word, we have to "pull" back the phone in order to reach the scanner/menu icon. So, typing-menu-typing-menu-typing-menu experience will make the hand sore and possibility dropping the phone too (if totally using one-handed)....

May be my hands are too big for ergonomic design if scanner is at the back. If smaller hands maybe feel more comfortable if scanner is at the back.
*
Interesting point for the typing position and gesture use. But aren't the "back" button is the strong point of Android over Apple, since it is softkey at the bottom? Or you may even add the floating ball. I don't see much usage of back button invoking by touching the scanner. If that so, is like using Samsung with a back key at bottom, i do appreciate the Selfie touch. Maybe notification swipe down at front can be better while you typing and switching, then Huawei provide customization to the softkey to include notification shade. Customization is great!

Hence, the usage of scanner at the back for navigation (up-down-left-right gesture) is a total failure....LOL...or redundant I would say...

Now, most of the capacitive keys in the front is "Recent app" + "Home"+ "Back" key combo... It should be "Menu" + "Home" + "Back". I do agree customisation is a win altogether... Just like in Xiaomi MIUI, tap-and-hold the "Recent app" key will invoke "Menu" command. This is a good implementation for one-hand operation.

"Menu" command is vital.... more important than "Recent apps"...

Hopefully in Android "N" (after Mallow is "N"utella....?LOL...) they revamp the "Menu" command from top to bottom of every apps/settings page... However, the best one-hand operation experience is from the Sailfish OS inventor who has one hand functioning below:

*
Sometimes there would be three little dots on the softkey black bar, but rarely seen those....wonder why nobody adopt that design, since softkey can be whatever it wants(notification shade, keyboard menu, menu key, etc). and yea, i disable most of the gesture on scanner, some of it just gimmick rolleyes.gif

cant disable the smiley face right?
*
That's the problem, lol. You can disable it, either you need to press the lock button everytime yourself, or you may change to normal flip case function, without those clock showing stuff and just lock your phone everytime your shut the flippyty flappity case.

the smart cover weather will only work with current location, if manually add city it (weather update and temp) will not work properly.

the problem is if i use current location, the location is wrong. like im at bangi, the location set at pulau lumut. so how to set it correctly?
*
Maybe try high accuracy with GPS? The weather can't even find my hometown.
