QUOTE(conchunchun @ Nov 6 2006, 08:39 AM) I think u could try to run the system for while and then restart and go to ur bios to check out the temperature and later match it with the temperature shown in the Speedfan...after loading to windowsthere would be slight difference just hopefully ur CPU and chipset temperature is not so close....then it would be hard to differentiate the temp.... |

Mine using speedfan, temp 1 is proc...and it is damn hot at 62C
OFFTOPIC last time I thought temp1 is mb temp and temp2 is proc temp, that day check again, it is opposite...pc wizard give me wrong temp also, make me thought temp1 (62C) is motherboard temp... sorry for off topic a bit... This post has been edited by Kataro: Nov 6 2006, 12:12 PM |

Usually it should be ur mobo chipset temp come in 1st place..have u check it out in BIOS like the way i mentioned before ??
that should solve ur query in split second........ This post has been edited by Doom: Nov 7 2006, 11:04 AM |

My bios show Proc 62C, Chasis 41C, but at PC Wizard, it show Proc 41C, Motherboard 62C. Speed Fan Temp1 62C, Temp2 41C. So, which one should I believe? maybe believe myself better...
And when I slow down my Proc fan speed, the Temp2 in Speedfan will reduce 1C...so I think temp2 is motherboard temp...Proc temp still remain 62C after I slow down the speed... |

Usually the BIOS temp should be correct unless the sensor on the board itself spoilt ... which is not in this case..
bro get ur heatsink cleaned and apply with new layer of thermal conduct.... other alternative is definately go for after market cooler.... |

Not really...bro get ur heatsink cleaned and apply with new layer of thermal conduct.... other alternative is definately go for after market cooler.... Last time when i was using an ASUS P4C800 [Not Deluxe or E Deluxe] In bios setup, it reports a massive 62celcius [Stock Speed, no oc, using Hyper 6+] And in windows, used a lot of temperature software detector, what i get is 36celcius And when i get my hands on a Temperature Sensor Pen, what i get was around 34-36celcius... So, not all boards reports a correct temperature in bios... I've been using a lot of boards, and IINM, normally, the bios setup temperature viewer usually report a higher temperature than usual... |

Well, i am using Gigabyte K8N-SLi and changed the stock northbridge heatsink to a Zalman Northbridge heatsink...Using Centurion 5 casing as well so i dont think that will be a poor ventilation problem.Anyway, except bios, is there any other place that i can check my northbridge temperature?

Well, its Cooler Master Real Power 450W.Damn, that means the temperature seems dangerous...Time to think of a change now...Is there even anyway to lower that temperature?
In PC Wizard, is the Processor Temperature (Diode) means the chipset? If it is, then its currently at 53c..Is that dangerous as well? |

Don't believe me then find another software temperature detector, and i am sure that there will be a temperature that is 70degrees... About you're chipset, does it have any fan on the heatsink? If it does have some fan, then that means it's true lor... For the exact results is, u have to use a hardware temperature sensor, not software, use things such as CM Aerogate 2 or any other external temperature sensor... |

QUOTE(akachester @ Nov 10 2006, 05:04 PM) How do u find out about this?I was also curious whether it stated that wrongly or not cause seems weird that my chipset is at 25c... As I am been curious about my proc and mobo temp, so I try to slow my proc fan speed down to very low rpm from 5700++ to 3700++...I monitor it using Speedfan and found the temp1 remain at 62C but temp2 drop 1C from 39C to 38C...I then adjust back the fan speed to 5700++ again, then the temp2 increase to 39C again... Anyway, still worries me that the PC Wizard is showing my CM PSU at 70c without barging from that number no matter i off the pc for few days or leave it for 1 week...Not sure what happen.Maybe its showing wrong result... the conclusion I make is: when I adjust my proc fan to full speed, it blow out many heat from the proc heatsink, so the temp at temp2 (mobo temp) increase a bit...when I adjust it to slower (<3800rpm), not much hot air from the proc heat sink there, so the temp2 drop a bit... I think my proc temp can be that high is due to the thermal paste... |

Bro, i'm not making this up, but it seems to me that you're motherboard temperature sensor chip seems to be broken just like my ASUS P5WD2-E Premium board that was sent for RMA on 18th of october... QUOTE(sHawTY @ Nov 13 2006, 09:20 PM) Don't worry about the PSU... Well, thats what i am wondering about.PC Wizard Motherboard Temperature is showing at around 20++ which you mention is the chipset temperature. However, as i know, there is 2 kind of processor temperature shown on PC Wizard. One is written as Processor Temperature and the other is named Processor Temperature (diode) which is about 50++ and does seem more relevant to be the chipset though..Anyway, if its a problem, must i really take it for RMA?Now, i'm more worried about u're chipset... There's no way that the chipset can be cooler than the room temperature... Bro, i'm not making this up, but it seems to me that you're motherboard temperature sensor chip seems to be broken just like my ASUS P5WD2-E Premium board that was sent for RMA on 18th of october... [The board still didn't return from the RMA process yet... |

If hot day, sure go up to 40-42C. Before I install 2 80mm Panaflo fan at the rear, it always at 41-44C... I had OCed my proc a bit from 1.2GHz to 1.32GHz but the proc temp seem not increase...maybe only OCed little bit, so not much heat...after getting the AS5, if the temp can drop till maybe around 49C or so, then maybe will OCed till 1.5 or 1.6C... |

QUOTE(Doom @ Nov 25 2006, 01:27 PM) Yah it is available in retail shop of lyp and bulk order .. Are you sure that heatsink is on par with HR-05 performance on the same par with HR-05 however the size may caused compatibility issue with certain mobo.... so do check out before getting it ... Doesn't look like much... The main problem with that Zalman Chipset Heatsink is you can't fit any fan on it... I'm sure that if can fit in a fan there, i think the performance will be on par with Thermalright Hr-05 without fan... Have anyone here tried Noctua Heatsink? |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Nov 25 2006, 05:29 PM) Are you sure that heatsink is on par with HR-05 lol..i cant confirm this either cause the Zalman is made by using aluminium instead of copper but the fin designs will surely do help in dissipating heat. Anyway, this northbridge cooler is definitely silent (of course, without fan).Good for silent setup.Compatibility issue like you said is something to watch out..It almost block my VGA card when on setup but i think you can adjust it to certain angles...Doesn't look like much...
