Usually the BIOS temp should be correct unless the sensor on the board itself spoilt ... which is not in this case..

bro get ur heatsink cleaned and apply with new layer of thermal conduct.... other alternative is definately go for after market cooler....
*
Not really...

Last time when i was using an ASUS P4C800 [Not Deluxe or E Deluxe]

In bios setup, it reports a massive 62celcius [Stock Speed, no oc, using Hyper 6+]

And in windows, used a lot of temperature software detector, what i get is 36celcius

And when i get my hands on a Temperature Sensor Pen, what i get was around 34-36celcius...

So, not all boards reports a correct temperature in bios...

I've been using a lot of boards, and IINM, normally, the bios setup temperature viewer usually report a higher temperature than usual... sweat.gif

Is it normal for the northbridge chipset to be hot even without any overclocking?
*
That depend on what type of motherboard u're using right now and what kind of northbridge chipset heatsink that is used to cool you're northbridge heatsink...

Check the temperature, if it's around 30 - 40 degress, then it's still safe...
Correct me if i'm wrong guys... laugh.gif

Well, i am using Gigabyte K8N-SLi and changed the stock northbridge heatsink to a Zalman Northbridge heatsink...Using Centurion 5 casing as well so i dont think that will be a poor ventilation problem.Anyway, except bios, is there any other place that i can check my northbridge temperature?
*
Use PC Wizard 2006 or Speedfan or any other temperature software detector... thumbup.gif

And what is that temp3 that is showing such a high temperature of 70c?Is that even normal?
PS : I still havent done any overclocking yet...

I suggest you to use PC Wizard 2006, easier leh... thumbup.gif

Just checked with PC Wizard. It is shown as the Power/Aux temperature.Does that mean its my power supply?

OT: Is that too hot for a power supply? Can i still do minor oc at that temperature?
*
Woh, PSU temperature at 70 Celcius? shocking.gif

My Enermax used in my Pentium D 930 oc'ed to 4GHz and is running X1600 crossfire also never reach that kind of temperature liao... sweat.gif
[Before my board were sent to RMA blush.gif ]

The highest is only at 40celcius... rclxub.gif

What kind of PSU u're using right now? blink.gif

Anyway, u've used PC Wizard, then what's the temperature of u're northbridge chipset? drool.gif

Well, its Cooler Master Real Power 450W.Damn, that means the temperature seems dangerous...Time to think of a change now...Is there even anyway to lower that temperature?

In PC Wizard, is the Processor Temperature (Diode) means the chipset? If it is, then its currently at 53c..Is that dangerous as well?
*
Processor Temperature is processor temperature la... laugh.gif

PC Wizard will state northbridge temperature as Mainboard Temperature... rclxms.gif

Actually how true is the PC Wizard? It seems that some are not quite really true..The temperature is staying the same even after long time of usage...
*
Because u didn't change the options... laugh.gif

Go to "Tools", then "Options", then tick the "Sensors in real time"...

Press "OK", then click the "View", then click refresh...

There you have the Sensors running in real time... icon_rolleyes.gif

How do u find out about this?I was also curious whether it stated that wrongly or not cause seems weird that my chipset is at 25c...

Anyway, still worries me that the PC Wizard is showing my CM PSU at 70c without barging from that number no matter i off the pc for few days or leave it for 1 week...Not sure what happen.Maybe its showing wrong result...
*
It's not showing wrong result...

Even if u're using speedfan, the temp also shows 70degrees right?

Then that must be something wrong with the temperature sensor in you're PSU lor...

Don't believe me then find another software temperature detector, and i am sure that there will be a temperature that is 70degrees... laugh.gif

About you're chipset, does it have any fan on the heatsink?
If it does have some fan, then that means it's true lor... tongue.gif

For the exact results is, u have to use a hardware temperature sensor, not software, use things such as CM Aerogate 2 or any other external temperature sensor... thumbup.gif

Well, you are right..Speedfan is showing the same temperature..What i mean its wrong is because i cant feel the heat on the PSU.If its 70c, i should feel the heat rite?Maybe i should get a hardware temperature detector and check it out...

Anyway, my chipset does not come with fan.Its the zalman flower chipset cooler..So, is it still normal to be at that temperature?
*
Don't worry about the PSU... tongue.gif

Now, i'm more worried about u're chipset...
There's no way that the chipset can be cooler than the room temperature...

Bro, i'm not making this up, but it seems to me that you're motherboard temperature sensor chip seems to be broken just like my ASUS P5WD2-E Premium board that was sent for RMA on 18th of october...

[The board still didn't return from the RMA process yet... rclxub.gif ]
