Alright, so I start playing WoW like 3 weeks ago...
Everything is fine, I grind, I do quests, instances with people, I get along well with whoever I talk to (mostly just real life friends) and then today, I wake up to find that my account has been banned.
They don't really give me a reason, except that they claim my behaviour is in violation of the "essence" of World of Warcraft (whatever that means).
So I think I have been mistakenly banned. What should I do? Does anyone have any idea why I got banned?
Please help. I don't want to be pwned.
Thanks.

Hi Abomy,
This is a list of AddOns that I use with WoW :
CT Titan Atlas
I have not installed anything else. Are these considered bots? Illegal stuff?
Thanks.

Has anyone else also experienced this? What happened? Should I complain?

wtf? They can't just simply ban you without a reason. Blizzard is stupid sometimes

That's what I thought too. If they really wanted to ban me, they should have provided a real reason, and provided a screen shot or some proof that I had done something wrong. All they did was say that my "behaviour was against the "essence" of World of Warcraft". What the hell is that supposed to mean

I guess its your in game behaviour. Maybe too rude/spammimg/cheating people or w/e. Have you done anything like that or have you really pissed someone off?

Haha I don't think so. I don't chat much, unless someone asks me something. I've only gone for 2 instances, both of which all members came out alive, and happy with a fair loot. I didn't steal any blue items by needing unecessarily.
And I'm hardly ever in towns, only there when I need to learn skills etc.
At other times, I'm doing quests (alone) or grinding (also alone).
Not much chance to piss anyone off, or cheat anyone. Oh I sell all my stuff to the merchant. Never used AH before. So no cheating.
I just started 3 weeks ago, so haven't really done much in-game.

Dude, that means it's a case of mistaken identity already. Because before Blizz bans anyone, they will conduct a very thorough investigation.
Go appeal and get your account back.

Nope, did not share account with anyone.
How should I appeal? I have replied to the e-mail that they sent (the one saying I was banned). Is that the correct way to appeal?
Thanks for all the help everyone.

Get a friend to open an ingame ticket if you can. If cannot, head over to the General Forums/Customer Service Forum and spam there.

QUOTE(Peanutz @ Nov 5 2006, 03:36 AM) Get a friend to open an ingame ticket if you can. If cannot, head over to the General Forums/Customer Service Forum and spam there. I did try that. But they're worried that they may get associated with me and in turn get banned as well. Lol. I didn't want them to take that kind of risk. Still to get a reply. It's been roughly 24 hours. Maybe they don't work on weekends.

Did you gank anyone? Like, kill them over and over again until the cows came home? Or happened to use foul language? Blizz can ban you for those 2 things.
And yeah I doubt they work on weekends. Try contacting them on a US monday morning.

Dude, corpse camping is not an offense. So you can gank someone over and over again till your eyes bleed and they won't ban you.

I've had my account banned some 3 months after I started playing WoW due to "trading with real life money" which I have NEVER done any or thought of and I started playwint WoW during Open Beta and created an account on the 1st day it was launched. During that time, there wasn't many Chinese farmers and WoW gold selling.
Anyway, I emailed them and they replied TWO WEEKS later saying that they have unfroze my account. No reasons given no apologies no nothing.
I can help you open a ticket in game if you want. Just give me your character names and which server(s) you play on. Oh and *please provide me with your accont login name and password. This is important because WoW may need to verify that I AM indeed your friend*.
NB: Words between ** are just a joke and not to be taken seriously :b

No don't give it to seen, I can do it for you now. Just pass to me your username, password, CD-key and answer to secret question and I can solve it for you easily NB: Yes I'm kidding.. Oh btw, did anyone send you a large amount of money? Because that's how Blizzard tracks gold selling :\

Call US Blizzard... Dont waste time sending in-game ticket or sending email. Call them directly. Waste at least USD 20.00 to 30.00 on phone bill. But clear them out on the phone.
