Alright, so I start playing WoW like 3 weeks ago...

Everything is fine, I grind, I do quests, instances with people, I get along well with whoever I talk to (mostly just real life friends) and then today, I wake up to find that my account has been banned.

They don't really give me a reason, except that they claim my behaviour is in violation of the "essence" of World of Warcraft (whatever that means).

So I think I have been mistakenly banned. What should I do? Does anyone have any idea why I got banned?

Please help. I don't want to be pwned.

That's what I thought too. If they really wanted to ban me, they should have provided a real reason, and provided a screen shot or some proof that I had done something wrong.

Haha I don't think so. I don't chat much, unless someone asks me something. I've only gone for 2 instances, both of which all members came out alive, and happy with a fair loot. I didn't steal any blue items by needing unecessarily.

And I'm hardly ever in towns, only there when I need to learn skills etc.

At other times, I'm doing quests (alone) or grinding (also alone).

Not much chance to piss anyone off, or cheat anyone. Oh I sell all my stuff to the merchant. Never used AH before. So no cheating.

How should I appeal? I have replied to the e-mail that they sent (the one saying I was banned). Is that the correct way to appeal?

I did try that. But they're worried that they may get associated with me and in turn get banned as well. Lol. I didn't want them to take that kind of risk.


Thanks Odinn. The e-mail that I received (and replied) was to that same e-mail address. Hopefully they received it. Still to get a reply. It's been roughly 24 hours.

Maybe they don't work on weekends.

Haha nope, I didn't gank anyone. I can't even reach Alliance territory in one piece.

And nope, no one sent me gold. They did send me some packs though. Is that considered? I have been spending lots of time in one place, grinding though. Do you think they ASSUMED I was a bot?

Quite a long time. Probably 2-3 hours? Around Sepulche.

But if that's really the reason they banned me, it would be really unfair. A simple whisper would have shown that I was not botting.

I got a reply from the Admin Account people.

They said my account was locked coz they suspected it was being illegal accessed (by someone other than the account owner). So yeah. Now I have to fill up a form, and send them some identification. They'll investigate further, then decide if it's right to unlock the account.

Such a hassle...

But I'd just like to say thanks to all those who came into my thread and offered words of advice / comfort. It's nice to see that I'm playing this game with a good community

Should I ask in-game, or via e-mail? I wouldn't know which GM handled my case though right? No mention of his/her name in my e-mail
