Just checked Umobile. Their postpaid broadband plan MB40 now got 4gb peak and 2gb off peak for RM40! Last month I check the plan only gives 2gb peak and 2gb off peak. Time to change from Maxis to Umobile MB40. My current maxis broadband plan juz 1.5gb peak and 1.5gb off peak, at RM50 sumore after GST. |

Even my company lines is going to port out from Maxis to Celcom. Maxis thinks that they are premium brand in Malaysia, but nothing special after all, yet the plans offered getting expensive...

maxis coverage is not that great. I think most major telcos, their coverage is more or less the same, so best go for the cheapest (however you may maintain to be exclusive to remain with the most expensive)

Dammit lol, previously I was using U Mobile P50 3GB plan and I switched to Celcom Basic 38 3GB plan, and then now suddenly U Mobile went nutz and launched this awesome plan lol. Nevermind, I'm happy with Celcom, their coverage is better than U Mobile, and I can still carry forward my unused data to the next month, still worth the money.
Glad to see our local telcos getting serious now, except Maxis lah, still wow wow wow like bodoh in TV ads. Wanna be a premium telco lol, suck banana lah. What Celcom, U Mobile and Digi are offering is the real WOW, Maxis is the real LOL. For me, Celcom > U Mobile > Digi > Maxis. This post has been edited by xperiaDROID: Jun 29 2015, 03:24 PM |

Tbh, when U Mobile upgraded P50 to 5GB, I was tempted to switch back, but the line in my area was quite bad and Celcom is way better. After all, it depends on your area lah. Nevertheless, Celcom and U Mobile are my favorite telcos, Digi and Maxis are meh. |

the only strong point for maxis is that the fact their 4G coverage is waaaaay better in KL than any other telcos and their limitless calls and sms
other than that, they suck balls |

For us, it's outdated. other than that, they suck balls I think Maxis got their plan all wrong. Like my boss, he made lots of calls. You give him One Plan and his bill went from 300 to 128. However for us who only made RM10-15 calls, it's totally not worth. Maxis should retain data users instead because businessman usually don't care much about cost, and prioritize coverage. Most still prefer Maxis after such long history of good coverage. So maxis went from 300 to 128+gst and losing us as customers. |

Morning, my friend went to celcom to migrate from maxis.
Evening, maxis call him offering "new loyalty" package; monthly rm46 3gb data, 200 min free call, 100 free sms. |

My dad has 3 lines (dad, brother, mother) under Digi, I called Digi and asked if they could offer me something in the form of loyalty bonus for being their customer for the past 7 years.
They said no. So I told my dad to go ahead and jump to celcom. Only RM2 more expensive, but with much better network. Superb offer. Was thinking about Umobile, but Celcom it is. I would have preferred Digi, but decided that it was stupid for them for their 12-month limit on their DG50 offer. Even if some of you guys say come next year they will probably have better offer and I can jump to that, I don't want to entertain a company that can't provide the same service for longer than 12 months. If they had removed that limited-time offer, I would consider them too, even without a loyalty-bonus. |

QUOTE(Sirius @ Jul 8 2015, 03:51 PM) Postpaid surfmore 50. Already 10+ years with Maxis :-) No wonder you got that package. I want that package too, grew tired of Celcom not getting coverage at home & at the office. Before I registered Celcom's First Basic 38, I've been using Hotlink for more than 5 years. When I was using Hotlink, the coverage is very good where I've never lost a single bar in both at home & at the office. Internet speed is very fast too. But now that I'm using Celcom, the coverage is really bad. Sometimes I'm getting full bars, sometimes completely disconnected. Internet speed is also very very low. At first I thought it was caused by my phone. Then I plug the sim card to my tablet, same issue. This post has been edited by sHawTY: Jul 8 2015, 04:21 PM |

So I proceeded to port over to Celcom first basic 38 and replied Y to confirm MNP at 3.40pm today. Around 5pm Maxis called and counter offer RM46 plan, I accepted and got the new plan activated in 10mins. |

QUOTE(jamesworkout @ Jul 12 2015, 12:24 PM) carry forward the unused data??? means all the data that i cannot finish or got a limit??? how is the coverage??? You can only carry forward maximum 3GB to the next month. For example, if you have 1GB left for this month, it will be added to the next month, so it will be 3GB + 1GB = 4GB, you get 4GB on the next month. The coverage is good, most places have 4G. |

I wonder how beneficial y will be, because I'm pretty sure these telcos would not let us get the benefit for long, until they pull it off one by one.

QUOTE(miassa @ Jul 15 2015, 12:29 PM) reminder: hey hey hey. everybody. today already 15/7/2015. tomorrow is the last day for signing up the celcom plan. be fast if you want it. hahahaha. Just to correct your statement, it's not the last day on 16/7 to sign up this plan, it's just the last day to get 3gb + 3gb permanently as long as subscribers stay with this plan. After 16/7, first basic 38 plan will only come with 2gb + 2gb. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jul 9 2015, 06:17 PM) Same here Maxis postpaid. just got that maxis rm46 promo also...within a couple hrs of me accepting Y to MNP to another telco...and activated within 5mins of maxis calling In my case, I called 123 first to request change to the RM46 plan but 123 buat dunno only. Said no such plan. So I proceeded to port over to Celcom first basic 38 and replied Y to confirm MNP at 3.40pm today. Around 5pm Maxis called and counter offer RM46 plan, I accepted and got the new plan activated in 10mins. and reason why 123 dunno is cos they really dunno... the one that called is from promotion dept...when i asked some questions on i want to change my billing cycle they said to call 123 or they can forward to them for me. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 25 2015, 11:42 AM) im guessing the new plan is to rival P50. If they do that, they need to revamp all the maxis one plan as the new plan of 3gig data will cannabalize their existing postpaid plans. I shall wait and see first but very tempted to port out to celcomwont take much to rival U28, and maxis has never really offered a main complete plan for so cheap before. |

Yesterday Celcom called me to update me about the MNP rejection and asked me to go and settle with Maxis, they will extend the 3GB promo offer for me until sometime in August. |
