After my submission, got to know from HR that they made a mistake, where they did not less out the RM6K BIK (exempted) from my income. I have already submitted, meaning i am paying tax for that RM6K. So how do I go about it? Do i file a pindaan, which I think i cannot do that until end April right? Any idea?

QUOTE(ironman16 @ Mar 18 2021, 06:55 PM) Q2 if you look at it, if both husband and wife elect to claim 50% each, and if one of them is earning less (lower tax bracket) then the govt should be glad as they are claiming lesser. Why still kena penalty ah?U either claim 100% or 0%, unless u divorce baru 50% 😂 U discuss with ur wife whether the child is under ur name or she. Dun repeat my mistake that I select 50% for me n my wife several year. Sekali kena audit, mati i bayar. |

QUOTE(sozai89 @ Mar 21 2021, 11:29 PM) Hi All , Same mistake i made last year. On 1/4, when the pindaan opened, i did the correction I accidently wrong choose the category the life insurances and kwsp that portion. i choose government staff pencen instead of others from that. how i going to adment it ? that amount to declare will be same . QUOTE(mytrader @ Mar 31 2021, 02:54 PM) I accidentally done the same last year, received a notice from LHDN last month with a penalty amount of ~RM300 + the differences in taxation to be paid. I would believe it's an easy task for them to trace as the civil servant database is with them. I didn't appeal but just paid as it would be an hassle and it's my stupid mistake.... QUOTE(atozunown @ Apr 1 2021, 03:16 PM) If you are referring as deductible expenses, yes i did, i just nett it off against my employment income, means my BE less the professional expense. Have been doing this since many2 years ago. |

QUOTE(atozunown @ Apr 5 2021, 11:00 AM) oh i see.. so your employment income in your BE will differ from the EA form lo? Yes, differ from EA. This was advised from income tax many years back, not only me few of my colleagues also got the same advice. Whatever professional membership which is relevant to your jobalso, it doesn't have to be MIA membership fee only right, it can be ACCA, CPA, ICAEW etc..?? thanks in advance |

QUOTE(siaowei111 @ Apr 7 2021, 12:41 AM) May I know did they mention which clause mentioning about this? I wanted to claim for my cpa membership but wondering if you happen to know just in case kena audit. I already kena audited 2 years ago, but they never asked on this part, it was on my PRS and some other expenditures claim. There is no clause mentioning this but i have been doing it this way more than 5 years ago QUOTE(siaowei111 @ Apr 7 2021, 01:12 AM) May I know anyone here getting travel allowance from your employer? Did you employer declare it under the section F (if not mistaken)? My employer did not declare it under that exemption section. Wondering can I claim for deduction if my employer declare it as taxable income but my payslip and offer letter clearly stated “traveling allowance” and I have read the relevant guide, it can be from home to office or office to home to exercise my employment and only need to justify if claiming more than 6k. I am getting but it is lumped together with my employment income, i don't think that is a BIK, which subject to RM6k exemption. Reason it was split is because they are not paying EPF for thatHope someone can help to clarify on this This post has been edited by leanman: Apr 7 2021, 11:31 AM |

I have a heart operation in end 2020 and continuously need to follow up every 6-9 months. Each follow will be prescribed with related medication, which i said its a long term medication till my last breath. Therefore, any idea, is such medical expenses, including the medication which prescribed up to 9 months (till the next follow up) is claimable under "medical expenses on serious diseases for self"? The valve replacement definitely falls under the serious diseases category. Thanks

QUOTE(MUM @ Mar 9 2022, 12:26 PM) Googled and found this on the Internet.... So Caveat emptor... Added note, I think, the receipt should preferably be in your name n preferably from the hospital indicating that those medication are really for treatment of serious illness too... Just like some insurance companies only allows claims on expenses relevant to the illness not just any kind of medications like supplements QUOTE(mini orchard @ Mar 9 2022, 01:32 PM) thanks to both for your reply. I have checked with 2 Public Practice friends, after consulting with their tax person, the answer is Yes |
