Mine could be missing in postal. GE told me that they have mailed out the statement in early March.

Ended up I have to ask them to send it to my email and believe it's not an easy process since my personal particulars don't have my email address. LOL

for the medical card or insurance thingy.. is it we call our agent to ask for their calculation to put inside the form? or we just calculate per month pay how much and enter by 12 months? i confuse
*
Please refer to your annual statement. It will show you the ratio.

Life: 100% of premium paid
Medical: 100% of premium paid
Riders (usually ILP): 60% for medical and 30% for life paid

The annual statement is important. It provides the summary of premium paid. Refer to post #1 for sample.

if let's say I buy medical / education insurance for my children , my medical insurance deduction already max the RM 3k limit,

Can the medical insurance relief for my child be use for deduction of my wife's own income tax?
*
Same as the children relief, you or your wife could file for the relief.

Hi all.. Wanna ask if its worth to just to get a laptop to get the tax relief?
*
It depends on how much tax saving (refund) this RM 3k of tax relief can offer.

Usually tax saving is greater when you're at the tax bracket boundary; i.e. RM 3k relief can lower your tax bracket from the higher tax bracket.

Hope you get what I'm trying to explain up there!

U may consider PRS
*
I thought only PRS and some annuity scheme can get for tax relief.

Normal unit trust or mutual funds are not entitled.

Hi,

January 2016 my uncle receive letter to request tax payment for years between 1996 to 2004 (he did not receive any letter to request payment before)

Now he got a letter which barred from going oversea.

He did not have any receipt or record for the mentioned period.

Still got any way to cancel the tax payment?

Or the only way is to pay whatever the amount the letter show?

Thanks for your help.

Your uncle is self employed or being employed?

Hi David,

My uncle is self employed. Partnership with his friend open a retail shop.
*
It's better that your uncle make a trip to the said branch and discuss for deeper details.

Definitely, your uncle can't ignore it.

Hi David,

Thank you for your advice, I will advise him go to the said branch to check for further details.

My uncle just told me he called the branch before, they told him nothing much they can do, he must clear the tax payment which refer to their system record or prove them with his own record/receipt.

So now he just ignore the letter, as he do not plan to go oversea.

Need some advice:
what if they insist us on pay the outstanding tax payment, but we do not have any record/receipt to provide/prove?
anything we can do to help ourselves on such case? (as most people keep record for latest 7 years)
*
There're only 3 options for this:

1. Set up a meeting with the tax officer or somebody with higher authority (audit head or branch head) to understand the case clearly on how they come with that grand total and if possible, negotiate with relevant support documents etc.

2. Ignore the notice and your uncle may be served with warning or perhaps a lawsuit letter. Your uncle will be then permanently in the immigration blacklist. Even your uncle is not planning to go to overseas now or near future, he may seek for overseas medical service at our neighbouring country at the south. (touch wood but it's a reality).

3. Just pay the sum!

Last year my EPF did not reach RM6000, so I included my insurance inside the RM6k limit.

This year if I already reach RM6k+ for EPF alone, do I need to put in my life insurance in my e-filing?
*
Doesn't matter since you have maxed out that category relief.

Thanks, Im just wondering because I put my insurance in last year, but this year I wont put it in. Will LHDN query me, why I put in insurance last year but this year I didnt? Can they still audit me for last year's insurance?
*
If you're not hiding anything, why you scared for audit? If you're so unfortunate to be chosen for audit, you should have all the documents to support your claim.

Hello,

I have purchased some Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 some time ago and only recently heard this can be used as personal rebate in tax filing.

is this true? is it under "Net saving in SSPN's scheme"?

Someone please enlighten me.
thank you
*
SSPN is for saving account/scheme specifically from PTPTN.

Hello fellow sifus, am first timer to do tax declaration through e-filing and got a bit confuse with the process and those strange terms that i never heard before.

1. Pendapatan Berkanun (Statutory Income) - What is this means? Gross annual income (Before deduction of EPF) + Bonus? I assume this column fill with the Grand Total (Section B and C) in my EA form. Correct?

2. There is a relief of Life Insurance + EPF. I wonder why the system doesn't auto calculate the EPF deductions from our Pendapatan Berkanun ? Instead we need to fill in ourself (As per the EPF deduction from EA form + life insurance) ?

3. Read somewhere saids that PTPTN repayment is not entitled for tax relief in the category of Personal Education. Just a confirmation here. And want to know how this work? I'm a degree holder and working now, if i continue my study as Master (part time) then I can get relief here?

4. What is the purpose of filling in my bank account number in? For refund purpose?

5. Do I need to declare if there are Shares are bought under my name (Not yet sell, but profiting)? Or until i sell it and profit, then only need to declare (under Pendapatan berkanun faedah, diskaun, royalti, premium, pencen, anuiti, bayaran berkala lain dan apa-apa perolehan atau keuntungan lain )?

6. Can I put my medical card fees in section of Insurans pendidikan dan perubatan for relief?

Thanks in advance and appreciate.
*
1. Annual gross income without any deduction

2. You can file a feedback

3. If you're forking the money yourself and you're studying for the eligible course listed on the year of assessment, you can file for the relief. No sure if you're not paying the bill and under scholarship, loan or even company education assistance programme.

4. Refund. If don't put your account number, your refund will be given in term of vouchers like BR1M or BB1M.

5. No. Capital gain is not entitled for tax. Dividend has been taxed at company tax rate.

6. Yes. Follow the ratio of premium payment in the annual statement.

Thanks for the reply, for #5 Dividend has been taxed at company tax rate, means it has been tax to the company, so when I got the dividend, no need to declare?
*
The single tier tax on dividend for share and distribution for fund should be no need to declare anymore.

Last year, I filled the details of unit trust (Public Mutual funds) in the HK3 section, located in "Pendapatan berkanun dividen dan sewa".

For e-Filing this year, I cannot seem to locate the HK3 section. So, where should I key in the dividend I gain from my unit trust?

Thanks for the advice. smile.gif
*
With single tier taxation scheme, I don't think you need to key in any details in the KH3 section.
