A whole year's overpaid taxes were to be clawed back. Even if I over claimed some, it shouldn't come up to the whole year's amount. I didn't ask the caller at that time as I thought it was a scam.

I have no other income, just one job and one EA form, very simple filing. Yea perhaps I should go to the branch and find out...thanks.

So I visited a branch and they told me the clawback is because the total income I submitted and what they have in their system were different, theirs were about 20k higher.

The amount I submitted was plucked directly from EA form, not sure where they got theirs. The officer asked me to submit my EA to appeal. Done that through their website, no news after 2 days, call the numbers published in their website for 2 days now but seems like everyone is on holiday.

What I found out is, as long as they see the numbers are not tally, they make you pay first instead of asking you to justify.

Nothing I could have done to prevent this from happening.

I think my prudent initiative to accelerate instalment payment during mco has triggered lhdn to audit me, anyone faced the same? Didn't spend on anything expensive during the 2 years as I channelled all the money into my housing loan, saved some.money but kena audit as a result, or so I thought is the cause.

I thought SSPN amount is auto populate in the system. This also will trigger them for audit?

My sales is below RM 10 k per month (just new biz) . Some firm turn down my request as i am small ikan bilis .     I know the fees range to to yearly financial tax submission and account for less than RM 10k is around RM 1000+ to Rm 3000. That's why im facing difficulties to find.

We know they have rights to audit 7 years back, but I thought normally they will ask for previous year only, and at this period which they are busy.
