Well, do your current gpu have enough powerhouse for VR?
*
i dont know, my 290 with i5 get "ready" status on steam vr test.

sure most ppl also can, or at least get playable performance. but that vr test doesnt really imply real life performance isnt it?.

Malaysia mark up price is bullcrap. When I simply search at Amazon the prices of hardware there is a lot cheaper than local shops. With Amazon Prime you can get Sapphire R9 Nano for less than RM2k, at the local shops? the cheapest I saw is RM23xx, some fetch to 26xx (same brand). MSI GTX 970 TwinFrozr V is RM13xx, in our beloved country? RM1799, even RM19XX on one shop! You can eat a whole month with that saving!

Price is crappy no matter what. Upper limit for high end card is RM2K IMO, over that it's just too much. Unless you uncle benny rich or stringfellow rich
*
thats why i started to saw many buy directly from amazon now

If it's anything like previous node shrink then this card gonna be awesome with awesome price tag but GCN is much more advanced architecture compare to TeraScale.
*
price tag is always AMD game, but heat and especially power just isnt there yet. im really happy whenever i heard they said its going to be low power consumption.

It's ironic that its ATi back in the day that pushes tessellation with Truform and such but when it become standard suddenly it falls flat.

There isn't much games that uses tessellation now, and when you see the games that uses it it's all Gimpworks title. Remember Crysis 2? Yeah it even have an ocean of tessellation underneath the city invisible but still there to make AMD cards looks horrible, and don't forgot about most realistic concrete slab in gaming history

Here's the video of Crysis 2 ridiculous tessellation to refresh everyone mind.

*
that concrete slab has stuck in my head forever when some discussing about tessellation ever since the first time i read about it.
