i tried watching Top Gear on my N80, DivX encoded... but damn laggy.

so we download the Maploader program from Nokia website, install it on our N80 and after that install the maps we downloaded?

do we hav to pay when using the GPS? i heard we gotta pay for data charges when searching for places. But the question is will there b any other data transfer charges like to track ur current location? im not using any unlimited plans so must find out first b4 using da gps.

cos i heard lots of bugs wif da latest firmware so i thought wan to stick wif my phone current version V 4.0623.0.41.

guys, my N80 that i bought July 2006 has a problem now. When i make calls or receive calls, the earpiece/headset on the phone doesnt emit sound. At first i keep thinking network failure, cant call out or something. Keep trying to call back my fren, but evytime sort of like fail. Then my fren sms me ask y call but didnt talk. The problem is i didnt even hear da ringing tone sound.

Then i try loud speaker mode. Can work in loudspeaker mode. My fren can hear me loud and clear. Means that i can confirm the mic and speaker are working. its just da headset that transmit sound is da one that has problem.

I also tried using the handsfree that came wif the phone. Handfree work as well. SMS and other function of da phone is ok.

Any of you guys experience this b4? Any remedy?

Too bad my warranty expired alredi, if not i'll just send it to Nokia Center but for now im thinking of hard reset da phone and c whether can fix b4 send to repair. But only after i get/or dun get any solution from you guys first. Its not a major problem cos still can use loudspeaker mode to talk but kinda annoying mah.

Pls help, N80 sifus.

thanks for ur reply bro... dunno how come like that... i take care of my phone so well. Nvr drop on da ground b4 or knock anything hard. Anyways, which nokia center u took to? can do it in one day? i mean sent in n take back on the same day itself?

Is every nokia center capable of fixing the phone?

bros, fixed my phone for RM200 at 1U Nokia Care Centre

Breakdown of cost:
Ribbon=RM40
IU Board=RM120
Speaker=RM10
Labour=RM30

Didnt know slide phone got this kind of problem, fix so damn expensive... will nvr buy another slide phone ever.

flex cable is also known as ribbon in LYN language.

Actually, i just ask them fix da cable and speaker only. Dun need to fix da IU board. Then da technician by da name of Terrance said if dun fix da IU board he cant guarantee da problem will b fixed and he cant give me da 3months warranty. Then i also fear got any problem after 3 months, allowed him to fix da IU board. I also regretted for not asking for da spoilt parts. My first time sending a phone to repair ma.

they fix my phone in approx 2.5hrs time. 1 hr to check n another 1.5hr to fix

i experience the same problem. Read my post on these problem and how i was duped into paying so much to repair my phone.

Guys I tried using the GPS via Nokia Maps on my N80. So i must hav a GPRS or 3G connection if i were to navigate using this software? Is there a free method to use GPS on my N80?
