1. landed or condo? condo
2. how many pax in your household? 2-4
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? no
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) replacement filter is ok to do myself
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? prefer outright or 0% instalment for 2 years than subscription package.
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k? 1-2k
7. do you own external water filter yet? no, looking to have an external water filter too
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water? hot water must have.

Hi all, looking for a combination of external water filter to be installed in condo yard area. Preferably if you can suggest people to come install as well because need to hack the wall to locate to incoming water. Thanks!

Ooof, installation with hacking nowadays will cost you A LOT. It was never cheap, but now prices went through the roof. I suggest to just install drinking filter for now.

I see.

Those rental based packages like LG, Cuckoo and Coway are quite interesting. Does it come with the filters when they come for servicing? I see the advertisement mentioned about free servicing and warranty during the rental period, but not about the price of filters.

Yup, for all these brands, usually the customer just pay the monthly subscription fee, filters and warranty during the contract period are fully covered

if u are asking bout filter price AFTER the contract, for LG it's RM320 per yr, not sure bout other brands

Hope I'm not too late to suggest.
Usually the external water filter is after your water meter. If can see the meter, then you may not need to hack the wall to locate to incoming water.

For external filter you can shop for 3000L or bigger 6000L UF filters.

Depending on your incoming water quality, these can last you ~5yr before the internal membrane needs to be replaced.

As these UF filters needs to be back flushed regularly, most customers will use the back flush water to wash their vehicles, wash the yard or water the plants.

Don't install the sand type cos I have encountered many problems with the particles getting into the internal plumbing.

He is in a condo. Most probably can't see the water meter at all, it is in a separate room and most condos will require hacking. Also, for most cases, backwashing in a condo is a hassle

Actually the water meter is accessible from the meter room located near the lift of my floor. But management do not allow the install of water filter at the meter room which makes sense, so the only point of entry to install is inside my own unit after the main incoming stopcock. And yes, that will require hacking unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though.
