Here is my setup at the moment from a local shop for 399. Consist of 1 carbon block, 1 granular carbon, and 1 fibre sendiment filter. My total cost including the diamond drill bit was about rm700 plus, including the filter head. This will be my main drinking tap water, but will still keep to boiling for drinking. I expect to change once a year, since the existing water in the condo is quite clean itself, aside from the chlorine.

Why not use 20 inch by 2.5 inch. I find this common enough in the shop I when too.

Here to report that my filter setup had issues leaking at the joints. Started with the sides intake and outtake. Then the inner joint nipples between filters also was leaking.
This was done over multiple teflon tapes, pipe dope, and even turning the joints until it reaches the end.
Will return the whole filter setup and try to get one with brass threading. The current threads that are PVC i feel are too soft and doesnt handle the water pressure inside.
I know because once I accidentally remove one of the pipes tubing without draining the water, and the whole thing push out alot of force.

My 3 stage 10 inch filter from a local water filter shop, comes with brackets and connections between the filter done. All I need to do was connect the inlet and outlet with 3/4 Inch threaded pipe. First leaks was inlet and outlet. Then came the inner connection.

QUOTE(Pain4UrsinZ @ Apr 15 2018, 06:25 PM) Yea, because CTO more expensive, I put it for chlorine only, so I put 1 micron as first one cheaper cost to replace. Can you share where did you buy the filters? Are the threads plastic or metal?
