The current raya promo is the same like previous promo. Not so attractive.
RM1 for Leather seat for 2.0
RM1 for Navi for 2.5
Rebate pretty standard at Rm4k onwards.

Well I think X-Trail have more bell and whistle. 5+2 seater. Cheaper too than cx5
But the biggest let down on xtrail is a mere 2 airbags! TC give us more airbags lahhhhh!!

Here is a good read on Xtrail vs CX-5 vs CRV

Finally thats a club for X Trail smile.gif

i service mine at Sg Besi Service Centre, for the 1st 1000km, they use mineral simply because it will only last for 4000km as we need to service for 2nd time at 5000km. Subsequently, is semi synthetic coz 3rd service is 5000km interval and so on so forth

5,000km? But I thought the manual book stated 10,000 interval? Modern car usually now 10,000 service interval.

Now currently promo free leather seat mah.
But to be frank when test drive erm apart from the fancy name I really dunno if there is any different from my current car seat or not. I dun fell like seating on a zero gravity seat. Lol. Sounds like a marketing gimmick with hi tech name. Konon the leather is created by nasa alike. Suppose to be comfortable and not hot.

here're my 2.5 experience earlier:

1. The audio is pretty bad for a car at this price; or perhaps i'm comparing with the Kia(s) i have

2. The best FC i got was 6.9litre/100km - from Puchong to KL and vice-versa, via MEX - without Eco mode gets 7-8 litre/100km

3. ECO mode really drives like turtle. need to press hard to make it to 110km/h

4. Without ECO, kind of powerful, 80-140km/h with a breeze - after 140 not so powerful, but not struggling

5. Tried the voice command thing, doesnt really work too well.

6. Was reading through the manual, i think a lot of applications are missing - since TC replaced with their own shakehead.gif

7. Suspension not the best in town (i guess), kinda noisy but not really too bumpy. Maybe the tires are too full.

8. Tried using manual shift - just realized it actually has 7 speed sweat.gif since it gets to 140km/h pretty fast, very busy shifting without peddle shift

9. Not too noisy. Engine thinks its a boxer, wind noise starts around 100km/h, somehow bike's sound comes in easily

I had a test drive on the 2.0 too, really feels kind of under power. Once i sat on the 2.5, loved the feeling and power

I noticed the 2.5 engine was a bit rough n noisy while accelerating compared to the 2.0. Same with u or maybe the test drive 2.5 car was too new. I dont mind the 2.0 but the 2.5 is still in consideration

2.5 engine sound are a bit rough but only when you force it to accelerate. If drive "politely" the sound almost unnoticeable.

so, to topup 3.8k for the 8"navi to 2.0, really not worth it?

Did anyone tested 2.0 top speed?

I think all official SC will use semi syn and mark 10k for next service. Even Axia also same. IF you go to independent workshop, they will mark every 7k for semi syn. How come manufacturer gives 10k and normal workshop give only 7k.... well they can make more money laugh.gif

TC replaced with locally sourced headunit (they claimed that they develop themselves, but i think it's outsourced anyway). Original is using Nissan Connect.

Ya.. the engine is indeed loud. I read that its the same engine as teana, maybe they purposely made it louder for vroom vroom feel?  Lol

No wonder. I booked the 2.5 but changed to 2.0 bcse i felt it was too noisy. Power was much better but the 2.0 was a silent cruiser. Did hill climbing wt the 2.0 and it was good too....power was there. Maybe full load time will have some drag. Noticed the 2.5 engine (qr25dek2) was older compared to the 2.0. (Mr20dd). Both comes with twin cv tc but 2.0 has direct fuel injection.

Will miss the led headlamp and 4wd system😭

I am still in the middle. Could change to 2.5 or keep the 2.0

Really depends on what you are using it for.. If normal family use with city (occasional outstation) driving, then I believe 2.0 is sufficient (not to mention the much lower price compared to 2.5)

Don't be surprised if there are still people who will complain 2.5 no power.. For these kinds of needs, they should buy a pickup or Ferrari instead.. cool2.gif

I did mine for RM1150. Include Sierra windows. Penang branch. Cheaper because they absorb GST that time and it was the last day of the promo that day. They did say that the price will increase.

Not a very good comparison article. There's hardly a comparison to begin with.

Some more, any competent reviewer will not get confused between L/100km which is clearly shown on the odometer and km/L figures that they achieved. laugh.gif

QUOTE
The brochures quoted a fuel economy figure of 12 km/L for the 2.5L 4WD and 14.1 km/L for the 2.0L 2WD. We can’t guarantee a solid figure for the 2.0L 2WD because we didn’t spend much time driving it.

user posted image

However, we did spend a solid amount of time driving the 2.5L 4WD variant on the return leg of the journey, opting for the Kuala Selangor-Teluk Intan route that were basically B-roads all the way back instead of the main highway. Upon arrival back at ETCM’s new 3S centre at Glenmarie, the fuel economy figure we obtained was 12.3 km/L.

From a casual read, people might get the impression that the reviewer's got pretty close to the claimed figures on the brochures which is incorrect. So what they achieve as 12.3L/100km actually translates to a poor 8.13 km/L. Very far from brochure figures.

Get the premium for dark color. Others not worth since the wet look not really optimized for other color.

Normal driving 30% with morning city jam, 70% 110km/hr highway = ~8 litre/100km

If smooth drive at 90km/hr = lowest 6.9 litre/100km

Can anyone please clarify for me? I feel like the 2.5 xtrail front seat top roof door light abit confusing. This is because usually the left and right front seat top roof light is only on when I pushed in the button. But as for the front seat top roof door sign light icon button, it's on if it's not pushed in and it's off if it's pushed in. Is it normal? Thank you.

Well. I have not yet decide.
I am just considering a SUV.
X-trail got my attention.
So just want to do some study for comparison first.
So, see what's the existing owners review and feedback.
Also wondering what's the offer package.

well it depends on your budget....

xt 1st gen can get around 20k-30k...

still reliable but as usual, old car already lots of item due for changes...

so i would recommend if you get 1 pomen that can kawtim or jaga your xt so easier for you to take care of it leter...

How's the performance of the car? Handling? NVH? Fuel consumption? Ride? Any common issues that any potential new buyers should be aware of?
*
I have been driving my x-trail for a year and around 20k mileage. The car build quality is very solid. Until now, there is not even a single rattling sound inside the cabin.

The car also very nice to drive. The transmission was so smooth. The suspension setup also very good. It's very confortable and relaxing to drive it and it's enjoyable too. NVH also good for me if compared to my honda accord 8th generation that is much more worst.

Until now, i have made no compliant yet to the service center.

For your information, i've been following the hr-v and the new civic forum. It seems like honda is facing parts assembly issue. Most of the owner are complaining about their car rattling sound from the dashboard, door panel and suspension abmormal sound.

Even my honda accord that is on its 7th year also made many rattling sound inside the cabin. It's so annoying and feels like driving a proton cars. It had already made this annoying sound from my 1st year of ownership and it's keeps on popup new one.

I think nissan had made a good job on their parts assembly quality control.

Bought on Sep 2015. 3 years and still rolling.
So far no major problem.
But I've bought the extended warranty as there are many complains about GB problem in FB.
Very nice car for family ride. Seats and the side panels r soft.
The only concern is the 2 air-bag.
Sometimes feel scare when driving on highway.
Especially after the passing of the Balakong ADUN who was driving the same type of car.

I am Looking for used X-Trail and CX-5, considering 2015-2017 model. Any concern especially what to take note when checking on this X-Trail? Any difference between 2.0 and 2.5 model beside cc difference?

Headache between X-Trail and CX-5 at this moment since both at same segment and similar price range.

too many really depending on budget, anything from rm 555

best to drop by to your preffered shop to test each out as from specs all might look more or less the same

how was your ride?

mind to share your exp buying used car?

looking on the new C-segment getting smaller and expensive, i think might as well get a used XT, 7 seater some more, thinking of the facelift one.

The 2015 model was the first of the T32. The revised on came in 2018 (I wanted this actually but was not willing to pay the price) then the proper facelift came in 2019. This is the best version which came with added airbags. All previous ones only had 2 airbags when the competitors had a lot more.

I bought from MyTukar due to the warranty and refurbishments done. My experience was really good. I saw the 2018 model first and paid a booking for it. After a few days, I changed my mind and requested to change to the 2015 model. The process of cancelling the booking and re-booking another unit was fast and easy. It is good as the staff know their jobs well. Ok, this sounds like an advertorial right? But it is true. The service was real good. I asked for a rear fog light which was not available in in the 2015 model and they helped me buy it and put it in the price. Loan arrangement was fast and easy.

Finally as I was working in NS, they kept their promise for nationwide delivery and sent the car to me.

That was my buying experience with MyTukar. No, this is NOT a paid advertorial biggrin.gif

The car has been sweet so far and I have been driving it since 1 July 2022.

Hi, I am also planning on getting a 2015 model from Carsome (found one within my monthly budget commitment) with 84k km on the odo. Wanted your opinion on whether this car is still considered a good purchase considering its age now, and I have heard a lot of friends talk about gearbox problems. Is this true? Should I proceed, or look for other alternatives?

Since my last post, I have been using it close to a year already. I can't speak for those with transmission issues though but mine is fine so far. Key to handling CVT in mass produced cars is NEVER EVER abuse it. Meaning simple things like coming to a complete stop AND WAITING FOR A SPLIT SECOND before shifting from drive to reverse or from reverse to drive etc. Next, Never do those jack rabbit starts. If someone wants to challenge you toa drag race at the traffic lights, let them win. This is not a GTR. And always do gentle accelerations and avoid sudden throttle input if you can help it. Many people just whack the gears without thinking 2 times and these actions usually break mass produced CVTs. I had a Preve before and I looked after it the same way. Yes, it had a turbo and it was rather quick but I only used the performance sparingly as to me, longevity and preservation is more important; repairs cost money!.

So. to your question, if Carsome can tell you for sure that the car doesn't have a bad record (best is if they can show you a full service record), then by all means go for it as it will come with a Carsome warranty. As for the car, to me, it has performed well without any niggly issues. Apart from the transmission, you also need to be aware of the AC. Some have said that it will cost 1k+ to replace the coil etc. If you're still convinced after this, then go for it. I have no regrets personally. I think it was put better much better than my previous Preve which was brand new when I bought it. Disclaimer - Proton is different today so do not take my remark for the Preve as cast in stone for any new Proton.

Last tip, don't be stingy with maintenance. It may be an older car but do follow the Nissan recommended schedule and use the best oil you can. CVT fluid is changed every 80k km but I recommend doing it earlier at every 70k km. Just to prolong the lifespan of the transmission.
