guys, just wanna check, the 50 gst for each card is gone right?

planning to upgrade my card from gold to platinum but I heard that they will directly charge the rm50 gst once the new card is active
*
Why bother to upgrade? Better terminate this card as no more benifits unless you eat out every weekend.

I am looking at ambank true credit card. It states 3% for online transaction. It didn't state any restrictions.

So I assumed that there will not be card which is able to give >=5% cashback for utilities payment if one is not able to get PBB VS. AM I right?

If working in sg can apply this card? Wat is the t&c. I can't c in the website. Any1 know?
*
Why would you want this card with the benifits being removed? For those who don't do dining, it is practically a useless card. Other cards are able to give >1.25% cashback

But u still get 5 rewards point for your spending which is still not bad right
*
5x reward point = about 1.25% cashback. 1.25% is useless CB. Other cards offer better benefits. Previosuly M2C was the best. 5%CB+1.25%TP +2-3% (if you follow Gen-X's tricks) whistling.gif = 8-9% cashback. You tell where got any entry level card offer so much CB with 0 AF? No complicated terms and conditions. Just swipe on weekends.

for me, it is still better than HLB Essential 1% la, so will still use AMEX until I apply for PBB VS.

Will miss ya, 5% CB, you have served me well  cry.gif
*
Actually you can use Maybank Ikhwan (5% for petrol and groceries on Fri & Sat), HLB Wise (10% after swiping 10x with each swipe = RM50), Aeon Watami (3% if you can spend RM3000/quater), and Ambank True (3% for all online transaction). No need to use M2C.

Must study this Ambank True and see whether can use to pay bills or not. hmm.gif

AmBank True? Are you sure? I read from top to bottom, bottom to top also didn't see anything about the online transactions. Care to enlighten me? I might have missed it. laugh.gif
*
It was mentioned at True Visa Credit Card
QUOTE
The 3% cash rebate is subject to a capping of RM30 per month for online retail transactions only and not applicable for Cash Advance/ Balance Transfer/ QuickCash.

Scroll all the way to the bottom. Another good thing is the True card does not have admin charges for oveaseas usage. (buy online from oveaseas also counted) rclxms.gif biggrin.gif tongue.gif

My Amex was always maxed for TM bills only. I have HLB Essential (for all other spendings)  & 2 Wise cards (for petrol & groceries/TM & Syabas ). So pretty much covered already. Aeon Watami (scared cannot hit and also hard to monitor, monitoring Wise card (me & wife's) already make me  rclxub.gif .

Ambank True sounds good, will get more info on this card. but webpage mention nothing about 3% http://ambank.com.my/eng/cards/true

Check out this site http://www.truebyambank.com/trueproducts/Pages/index.aspx icon_rolleyes.gif

How did you use WISE for TM? What about TNB?

I'm more interested in the savings account. Anyway, thanks for the link. smile.gif
*
Their True saverd account also better than M2Savers. 2.8%. The only downside is max 3x/month withdrawal (includes IBG to their TRUE Transect account/ IBG to another bank/atm withdrawal)

But if you IBG with their True Transect account, there is no RM0.11 charged. biggrin.gif rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif BUt not sure if they charge for IBFT

With proper planning, you can maximise te True Savers Account. icon_rolleyes.gif

I do not know if there is another savers account which can give so high interest which allows you to withdraw.

The answer to your query is at question 14 of the FAQ. It states out the MCC, utilities, insurance, mobile payments are not included.

For most of the time, I'm using AMEX to pay utility bills. Even help paying other people's bills. And I get cash for this(5% and TP I keep). Then only I spend on other places. Those were the days sweat.gif
*
So what card are you going to use to replace Amex for paying your utility bills?

Why bother with this card 1.25 % when other card can give you 3-10% cash back?

QUOTE(diabolus @ Aug 2 2015, 07:33 PM)
well just sharing with your guys, I did call to maybank cs this morning and request to cancel maybank2card and apply for ikhwan platinium. I were told by cs that the conversion can be done thru phone without to fill up any documents or go to the branch.

However, it mean that u have to give up the 2cards and to get the ikhwan card (if u aim for 5% rebate on petrol & groceries on every fridays n saturdays, but only 1tp on rm1 spent). After think twice, i cancelled this conversion request because i have the hlb wise card for this two categories (petrol&groceries), and i mainly use the 2Amex to pay for tnb&tm bills (around rm1.5k)per month. Therefore he advised me to keep the amex and apply the new ikhwan card, but this need to be considered as new card application (dcuments n income proof).

Any better suggestions?

(ps. I often use the tp for airmiles conversion so not really care about 1.25%, still think 2Amex have better airmiles conversion rate if compared to other cards.)
*
If you can afford it, maybank2 premier card give better conversion.

*
Yes. That's true. That's why people apply ikhwan card to get 5% CB

hmmmm... looks like ppl are abandoning the amex card for al-ikhwan?

al-ikhwan returns better than 5x points right?

perhaps i shud jump too...

if jump, all hutang can transfer including BT?
*
Of cause better. Cash back of 5% on groceries and petrol if spend on Fri and sat. M2C points only 1.25% cashback if you redeem for voucher. You decide you want 5% cashback or you want 1.25% cashback.

The card is free, so just keep it aside lo... you never know when maybank or amex decide to throw a good promotion. laugh.gif
*
Why bother keeping the card cause the more card one have, harder to apply new card. Why go for promo when you can go for guaranteed cashback?

So for most VISA and MasterCard out there, the effective cash back is only around 0.20% to 0.40% compared to 1.25%- 1.3125% for MBB2 AMEX.
*
Not true. There's hlb wise offering 10%, ikhwan offering 5%, uob vox also 5%, AEON Watami 3%. I don't see where MBB2 amex beats them in cashback as the cards I mentioned definitely gives more than 1.25%

just got my card as Principle account through FD.
from making FD till i get the card, it only took 5 banking days.
got this card for the purpose of convenience, disappointed with the revision of T&C in regards to Cashback
*
You can cut the card or convert it to Ikhwan. Recommend you convert as people who apply for Ikhwan card get rejected frequently.
