I forsee Maxis losing a lot of customers soon and they cannot do anything about it. Even the free gift & promos are useless because everyone wants better service and they are at the bottom of the list when it comes to service.

ya...i dont like their customer services.
last time i wanna get a new sim card in Maxis SC in Ipoh because my phone was stolen...the way the staff deal with me is simply rude. and like dont like to answer my questions...

in M'sia even d telcos offer cheaper phones, they tend to contract-tie u for a long period(1yr or 2yrs)
*
this is something you cannot run away from. Even here in SG, they also tie you down with contract. This is one way to maintain you as user. when your contract is up, they offer you another free or cheaper phone and you stay 2 year longer. You get cheap/phone, telco got u as customer.

here in SG, soem business are giving a awy LCD TV for you to sign contract. I think its their cable tv... what does Astro gives us???

then cheaper in MY is another story. IN SG medium range phone is sometime free. hi-end phone, you pay cheaper depending on the plan you sign up. If MY offer cheaper like RM100-200 then can go fly kite la... here in SG cheap mean less then half the market price. Free mean totally free (except for the contract).

I know telco in MY do gv away free phone but oni to those who spend a lot of very very loyal to the telco (in another word, have contributed significantly to the telco's income).

then it lost the point for the term "FREE"...
maybe MY telcos need another few yrs to offer such promos like free mid-range phones etc with only sign-up affordable package contracts.

Actually it is not fully the wrong side of local telcos who doesn't offer thing like what SG does. Giving dirt-cheap handset and tie you down to 1-2 years contract. It is just MCMC do not really encourage this and quite strict on contract issue(i am not sure about lately cause I haven't get updated much more). So telcos can't simply implement it. That's why the hp they offer also have a limit.

Bear in mind especially for DiGi's mother company - TELENOR which is damn big company. They have been giving promotion like nobody's business, if not because of this constrain. I guess you can expect alot more stuffs from DiGi.

Both prepaid and post numbers are portable as well.

However, you will lose whatever / all credit balance from the previous telco once you port your number over to the new telco. Hence, do plan wisely on the date of when you want to port your number over. After successfully porting, the first thing you need to do is to reload or top up airtime.

As for postpaid, you need to settle or clear off any unsettled amount or overdue bills with your previous telco before porting your number to the new telco. The porting won't be successful and would be rejected if there is any overdue bills. Also, you might want to check whether you are bounded by any contract before porting. If there's no problem, there shouldn't be any problem porting your post paid number.

Are you porting your number to Digi also? Am not surprise if you ask me since they are offering the lowest rate these days, with loads of freebies and rewards from time to time.
