This MNP have been talking for the longest time and i think we all know why is the delay. I really don't understand what technical problem is there??? other country have implement and if the Telco can sort out the technical issue after years of delay, i don't think they deserve to exist at all...!!!

if there is a monthly charge for switching operator (which i think will definitely be the case) i think our own MNP implementation defeat the purpose but then again... hey in this country, we have our own way of competition.

i am looking forward to more benefit for being loyal... right now i stay too long wif an operator i am rewarded with spam sms...!!! things like free/cheap phone upgarde with renew contract.

finally... <- not that i will change. i m happy with DiGi now.

The RM25 fee is kinda high (RM10 is more reasonable) but for a one time fee to retain my number, i think its a price to pay. Hopefully the telco will do something to absorb the RM25 fee. After all you are bringing new business to them.

I can understand they wanna start with pre-paid first. probably to implement in stages but why limit to only 100 users a day??? Stupid rule.

Can I know whether this is still valid?

Example:
Maxis to maxis: 12 sen/min
Maxis to other operator: 18 sen/min

How do we know 012/017 is maxis or other operator???

in time, you will see telco offerng 1 rate to all operator. Not sure abt the others but Digi is charging the same to all operator.

yea... there will be some teething issue during initial implementation. In time i expect the max 100 users rules to go. the processing period reduce to overnight and no more RM25 fee.

When competition start and the telco feel the bite, they will start to work harder to gain/retain their users and we will get the best value. i am also looking forward to offer like free handset or subsidies handset from telco to tie user to contract.

there is a RM 25 charge when you port.
I think telco will start tying user under contract preventing them from porting so easily.

if the telco wanna tie us down for 1 or 2 year they better be giving away free phone else who d heck will wanna go sign a contract w/o any incentive??? In SG, all operator are doing it.

in M'sia even d telcos offer cheaper phones, they tend to contract-tie u for a long period(1yr or 2yrs)

this is something you cannot run away from. Even here in SG, they also tie you down with contract. This is one way to maintain you as user. when your contract is up, they offer you another free or cheaper phone and you stay 2 year longer. You get cheap/phone, telco got u as customer.

here in SG, soem business are giving a awy LCD TV for you to sign contract. I think its their cable tv... what does Astro gives us???

in Japan, the operators gv free phones when sign up contracts.
even in SG they offer phones at much cheaper price right?
but here d price not even cheaper than AP sets even sign up a long term contract...
*
then cheaper in MY is another story. IN SG medium range phone is sometime free. hi-end phone, you pay cheaper depending on the plan you sign up. If MY offer cheaper like RM100-200 then can go fly kite la... here in SG cheap mean less then half the market price. Free mean totally free (except for the contract).

I know telco in MY do gv away free phone but oni to those who spend a lot of very very loyal to the telco (in another word, have contributed significantly to the telco's income).

bottom line is competition is good but in MY, sometime competition is not encouraged.
