For honor require internet connection to play single player mode.
No more off-line single player.

Ubisoft never learn constant online is a disaster especially how their server been shit.
Then again this is their way of countering piracy without paying Denuvo and since their first try on Division broke their sale record in 24 hour and rake a total of $330 million in their first week of release.
They are betting that For Honor will be getting the same result or better than Division
Don't think i will be getting since my area syok2 no internet for no reason thank you tmnet

yeah, that's the reason Division become stale once it does not give enough content....and also, how easy it is for hacker/bot user to use it on Ubi game

People never learn and they Ubisoft are counting on that i mean look at Division $330M on first week.
Wont be surprise if For Honor hit almost the same or better.
I should be happy that Division Beta kill my GPU for that reason i never buy the game no GPU to play.

Better wait for sales for Ubisoft games unless you want to play them immediately.

thats true haha i learned the hard way through the division
At least you learned. Some people never do and keep buying shit from companies that have repeatedly fucked them in the ass. Its like a God damn Stockholm Syndrome. Worse yet, others wont admit they wasted money on a game that they ended up not liking because they got their egos hurt by trolls when discussing it online.
Anyone can tell me if you can host any of the MP modes on your own to play against bots only?
I heard the bots are quite competent, so if I can host a game just against bots, be it dominion, brawl or pvp, that would be cool, especially if the whole p2p system end up making me unable to play against players

yes can play against bots. and yes the bots are good training.

Quit Uplay and restart and I can finally launch it.
The P2P is really bad. 1v1, or 2v2 okay la p2p. But 4v4 need dedicated servers.
joined a game halfway ytd, and i think they terus migrate host to me, cuz i join time see everyone else latency red while i am green. then after awhile 2 people dc or something. then end of game all quit lol
Rainbow Six Siege initially also Ubishit want it too be P2P, thankfully end up having dedicated servers, or else that game wouldn't have year 2 dlc also dy.

FYI, R6S is still P2P. Dedicated servers were discussed just last week during the R6S Invitationals, but are not yet in. What you experienced was across all Uplay servers. Even R6S player had issues with Uplay last night. PS4 platform was very bad yesterday, did not hear complaints from XB1 players, PC had some connectivity issues. May not be a good weekend to play any Ubispft online game.

Played a few rounds of 1v1, 2v2 last night. Got bored quite fast. Gonna wait couple of months to see how this game turns out. After The Division, I'm very skeptical of any MMO games coming out from Ubisoft.

MMO? You do know this game has more MOBA 'dna' than MMO right? It's more towards team-match PvP focused like Overwatch, CSGO, or Rainbow 6 siege. but with swords and sweaty men.

Nope. That's not entirely correct. PvP in R6S is on dedicated servers, Terrorist Hunt mode is p2p. Team communications (voip) are p2p also.
Sos:

This does not mean the gameplay is P2P. Gameplay is hosted on dedicated servers, but the team connection and communication is P2P, hence the host migration message
With that, it's clear that ubishit can do part dedicated servers part p2p. So there's no reason they can't make 4v4 on dedicated servers and 1v1 2v2 through p2p.
an ok. thanks for the correction. my bad. learn something new today.
then i'm puzzled by their recent announcement for dedicated servers.
Yeah I saw that too. But they wrote "no more p2p" so maybe it means team connection and communication, and Terrorist Hunt also will have dedicated server moving forward and there won't be anymore p2p functions in the game at all?
Either way, For Honor looks really promising la. I enjoyed it. People said gets boring fast etc. But I'm not sure, probably need to play over the weekend to see how. Titanfall 2 I didn't get bored after 150 hours even though it's the same few maps and 2-3 modes. Overwatch I played beta and got bored of it. So I can't gauge properly if I will get bored of For Honor like overwatch or not, or will be enjoyable for a long time like titanfall 2
Pudding Bear here. This is my review of For Honor.
Overview: The game puts you in the middle of a war between 3 fractions, the knights, the vikings, and the samurais. You will choose which fraction to join at the begining of the game. Each fraction currently has 3 heroes and each hero has a different play style (during combat you are not limited to just the 3 heroes of your fraction, you can use any hero). Note: To install the game you will be required to also install UPlay, Ubisoft's version of steam.
Gameplay style: A surprisingly realistic feel. There are various game mode such duel, deathmatch and dominion. The characters swing their weapons like it actually weight something. Against your opponents you are able to dodge and block based on the directions of the incoming attack (very important aspect of the game). If the enemy attacks from the right you need to block from the right. There is no guard all button. Characters also have stamina which is used to attack. If you run out of stamina you need to recharge it by not attacking.
Content: Apart from having bragging rights for being an undefeatable badass you gain items/loot, like every other game out there. You can use these items to customize your character. Every hero you play can also level up, I have yet to play enough of the beta to know what leveling your character does.
Summary: Pros: 1. Stunningly amazing graphics (good graphic card required) 2. Realistic and fluid battle style (if you enjoy that) 3. 9 unique heroes/play styles 4. Great with friends for a 4 v 4 match
Cons: 1. Steep price tag RM 219.00 or USD 59.00 2. The guarding mechanism take some time to really master and can sometimes be a little clunky 3. Currently the beta doesn't have too much content as I have mentioned above 4. Possibly no SEA server or it is peer to peer. But when playing the beta I had no lag at all. Note: I use a 100 mbps fibre optic line.
For a video review and gameplay, check out the video below of me playing the game:[SIZE=7]
Did anyone played the open beta on PC? I had so many network connection issues when playing PC beta compare to PS4 beta 2 weeks ago. PC beta kept bringing me back to main menu once the game started especially on 4v4 mode....
I really want to buy this game, but the terrible network issues isn't convincing me at all. I never finished a dominion match before.
Just now played with 3 friends from Malaysia against AI in elimination, was smooth as silk and we were playing for like 2-3 hours without any problems. Play with even 1 single player that's out of Malaysia and you could have a chance to dc. Darn annoying.

i've played it on pc with my crappy streamyx line never encouter any dc or net lag issue...only the matchmaking error i get...btw i set my pc ip on dmz to open all port...maybe u can try coz i played r6 seige also from ubisoft need to open port to play well....
I sure hope they have dedicated servers for 4 v 4. I believe anyone who is playing this game would have a decent enough line and PC to host a 1 v 1 or a 2 v 2.

i bought a couple of games before, no issue at all. or just buy from steam
for those who is playing the game now. u think this game can last? how is the match making now anyone dropping? lag a not
I get dropped almost every other game. Annoying. but at the moment, my tests are unreliable as there seems to be issues with my own Unifi connection. Using a usb wifi adapter and god knows what my housemate streams some times. Titanfall 2 ping can jump to 1k some times. So I can't be certain whether my issues are purely the game or my internet connection too. Gonna have to wait next month when I move and have access to cable to router only will know
Playing with Malaysians usually no issue for me. Team of 4 malaysians vs Ai. but if connect around the world, sure drop almost every other game.
Anyway, guys, add me up. Better to play with Malaysians for better stability.

I dint get disconnected from the game on open beta, the only problem are its takes some time for searching game on 4v4 mode.
For honor uses a peer to peer connection system for matchmaking. Not your usual dedicated servers. So lag or not depends on who is host and who is connecting to the host.
The Host of course will have no lag at all, however for clients that join, your game connection stability will depend on the host's connection , your own connection, as well as the distance between host and client.
So if you join a host who uses dial up (lol) or who is located in US/UK, you're screwed. There should be a setting in game to allow you to connect to people that are "near" you, but that will cause your matchmaking pool to dwindle, which might increase matchmaking time because I assume that most players are from US/UK. I hope it is not true.
I am holding back from buying this game because I am not too sure on the above. Hope to get some honest feedback here.
ive decent unifi 50mbps. maybe i will join muultiplayer right after i finish single player campaign. need to familiarize with basic. yesterday only play about 1 hr

From what I understand about their mesh P2P. Basically, a host will be the one that manages the "lobby" during matchmaking and during game. But everyone in the game runs a "simulation" on their own computers. Example would be Ahmad's computer is running a "simulation" of the match (but he's not the host), and then everyone else in the match when they press a button or have any inputs, those small data packets are sent to Ahmad's computer and the other "players" in his simulation will do exactly what inputs the other players put in. This works the same for everyone else in the game, so the main host of the match only has to deal with maintaining the lobby during the match, and not have everyone else connect to him and depend on his connection speed.
This is why the game pauses when someone is lagging, because your computer did not receive their input in a timely manner and can't process the action of the lagging player in the simulation, it pauses the game until the other player's connection stabilizes. Then if someone rage quits or disconnects, everyone's computers has to verify what happened to the play, so again, pause the game, then "eh, okay, confirmed that player dc-ed" only continue unpause the game
That said, this type of p2p is still not great, as we can see from the beta and in the full game.

After 7pm I keep getting dc. Guessing it's cuz more people in my housing area starts using internet after coming home from work or something. Managed to play a lot before 7pm with no issues, after that DC non stop.
Suspect it's the game's p2p infrastructure not being very friendly towards high latency or packet loss. So best is to make sure you use cable when playing this game.

Yeah best to change the port thingy to make sure your game connection to "green" NAT, as played for 2 days i get few dc from game, but still playable on lot 4 v 4 match.
no issue on my side & really enjoy the game with some lowyat forum member XD

ya, the best is using cable or 5g dongle (if your router support it)
but i dont think it will help much, my laptop is sitting next to the router, still dc sometimes, i think bcoz depend on other player network also
the best if ubisoft use the normal server method kind of things like other games...
For those of you who what open port, you only need to open UDP port 3074 for For Honor. No need to open other ports as stated by the internet guide. Remember, do not simply open random ports. Also allowFor Honor inbound and outbound connection on your firewall.

Also, for the first time i tried to make a For Honor montage video. Its only about 3mins long, give it a go if you'd like. Comments/Criticisms are appreciated.

Stacked throw distance on your gears? That throw distance is far
Yeah i believe my throw distance was about 3/4 of the max bar. The footage was actually recorded during the Open Beta so i dont quite remember to be honest. It was my first time playing so i just equipped whatever item i got.
Hey guys, please do add me to co-op on this game. While I enjoy it a lot, I think most of my friends don't so I need some people to play with instead of random scrubs.

Somehow managed to finish like 4-5 dominion matches tonight without dc. Can't say the same about other players though. I think I was the host most of the time with China, Russians, korean players. Using Unifi and shitty wifi instead of cable, so no idea why I kept becoming the host (I think i was host). most of the games sure got at least 1 other player dc, but didnt freeze the game. Had one where everyone in the enemy team dropped and 1 poor soul joined the team after everyone dropped.
Starting to get the hang of the game, really cannot spam or mash buttons. Once you commit to an action, wait till it finishes then press the next one, or else it gets quite messy. Really needed lots of practice to get used to it, or else usually try to mash dodge or few light attacks, kena punished instead. Once I got used to committing to attacks and not try to press buttons to often, feel less stressed out.

Yea have to fight the spamming instinct that's been built in by other games.. hard at first. I still do it when I panic especially when the fast attacker chains come like Warden vortex
a lot of post/video saying this game is going down
This game generally has 2 types of player base , the ones that hated it, and the ones that loved it. This game to its credit and core, is very good but it's not for everyone. It is normal to see death and doomsayer post/videos these days about most games (especially games by Ubisoft).
First off, if you like competitive games, For Honor probably lies on your alley. Else, you won't love it when someone just practically made you their b****. 2nd, Peer2peer connection, enough said.

Hey guys, thinking of getting this game. How are the population and stuffs? Played during the beta and it was fun but it was buggy as hell as well as the connection problems.
Can you guys still get into dominion matches? I only managed to que into 1v1 duel and also once into elimination. My NAT status is open. Those activities level were at high or extremely high when I go into matchmaking.
game has issues even at the Season 3 Tournament. both console and PC 'pro' players were using exploits and glitches to win. and still got paid for it.
as much as i enjoyed the game during Alpha and Beta, it has serious issues and i still have not put money down for it. maybe after the first year anniversary FH will turn around, but until then i will go back to R6 for my PvP fix. granted it took R6 about 3 seasons for to really improve as well thanks to dedicated server deployment and addressing all the glitches / exploits.
I just got the game for free, as the standard pack is there any dissadvantage against other player? In game is just pay for cosmatics or is there element of pay to win?

Even with the lower price point, the Starter Edition includes the full and complete version of the game. That means you get both the single-player and multiplayer modes, as well as all the maps. Customers will get three starting heroes — the Warden, Raider and Kensei — that will be fully unlocked and customizable in-game. Then, once they choose a faction to fight for, they will get access to three more heroes based on that choice.
Those characters will be playable immediately. However, the price to fully unlock those three additional characters is 8,000 Steel — For Honor’s in-game currency — compared to only 500 Steel for those who purchase the standard edition of the game. The game’s additional six heroes are not included with the Starter Edition, and will also cost 8,000 Steel each to unlock. "“We feel this lower price point for the game will greatly reduce the barrier to entry”"
According to Ubisoft, 8,000 Steel is equivalent to between eight and 15 hours of gameplay. Bundles of Steel are available through the game itself and at the Ubisoft online store and cost roughly $1 per 1,000.
So did anyone try the marching fire beta? imo the new breach mode is really chaotic, can't see what is going on half of the time and keep dying from random attacks from offscreen
