If so, I hear Hatyai has some good centers too. I'd still suggest anyone wanting to undergo it, to do it locally

QUOTE(panda-man @ Oct 19 2009, 11:15 PM) hahahah. yeah i guess so. thats why you go to bkk to do it. so no one will know hehhe. the only problem i would see is, that if there was any complications, you would have to go all the way back to bkk to fix it. Yeah thats why I said to do it locally Ah well, plastic surgery has its pros and cons. People get confidence, while some others get to be more attractive, which helps in a raging hormonal world and culture Kinda miss walking around BKK actually |

QUOTE(panda-man @ Oct 20 2009, 09:33 AM) i been to bkk so many times and do not know of this "cheese popcorn" you speak of.... please elaborate so i can find it next time. sounds interesting. Its one of the pop-corn types in the cinemas there. I believe its on the cinema at Paragon. Been a while though, so I can't clarify they still have it But BKK has got some of the best cinemas I have seen. Central World has the Lazy boy seat which is really awesome, especially with a loved one. |

QUOTE(SamSoon @ Nov 1 2009, 10:07 PM) Going to BKK on Wed, a few things here hope all sifu here can help. Chatuchak is weekends only. Thus why its called the weekend market. Opens as early as 7am, might be a bit quiet though. How is weather there now? I saw is winter give me a shock. I only have time for Chatuchak on Thursday, open ar? For shopping, places like Pratunam, Platinum mall or Chatuchak, has cloths for people who big size? We are not fat, but big in size (big bone) and tall, so...... a bit worry no chance to get cloths at cheap price like all of you. Please advice and suggest. Damnoen Saduak is outside of BKK city right? I'd say taking cabs would be pretty costly, since they are both outside of the city. Better to get a coach ride or a van to take ya'll there. |

QUOTE(senyii @ Nov 2 2009, 10:01 AM) Hmmm, I'm not very sure then, been a while since I been to those places, and with a cab too. I THINK the safari will have those pick up vans, but you gotta check that though. Usually hotels will offer some sort of transportation to tourist locations. Well... its all up to you really. For some people, those places are really worth going, some aren't.
I can't recall the names of the floating markets that are good, but its about safe to say the ones outside BKK are the better ones. The ones -IN- BKK aren't as good. They are much smaller and personally wouldn't recommend as much. The good ones though, can be really good. Lotsa good food and cheap stuff. Not to mention amazingly long. You could prolly spend half the day there if you spent time on both sides of the river. Could be just as good as chatuchak depending on what you wanna buy. ie. you prolly won't find pet food there but you could in chatuchak Safari... not too sure really, haven't been there since I was a kid. A traveling tip though... if you are there for a short period of time, might as well pack all the activities you can do thats -IN- BKK itself. That way you don't waste time in traveling to places. And then do those that are outside BKK on another trip. |

QUOTE(chayyee @ Nov 21 2009, 12:12 AM) Ya, I will view the thread when I'm free... Hmmm, I know for sure Amari and Silom hotel is virtually IN the city itself. Since they aren't too far from where I stay. Amari train station... I believe there is like several stations just around the corner and the MRT jsut across the street.I would like to ask about the hotels. Amari Atrium Hotel Centre Point Silom Hotel Manhattan Hotel Thomson Residence Hotel Which one stated above is nearby train station and it's in city/nearby city? Cuz I have a voucher which I can get cheaper price but I need to choose within these hotels... Not very sure where the center point silom hotel is... but silom BTS station is easy to get to and fairly big. And chances are, if its near Central mall, the BTS should be near. I think you can check locations in their site too. Hey pandar, saw that hotel you are in, an elderly couple stopped there too on the bus I was on from the airport. Looks pretty good! |

Hmm, what other tourist areas are you looking at? Chatukchak can be reached by BTS and its my recommended mode of travel, though you prolly wanna hitch a cab back depending on how much stuff you bought.
Pratunam itself doesn't have a BTS station and I believe the nearest one is Chitlom's and Rachathewi. Its not too far away, could be walkable but everyone has their own walking distance preference..... so I suggest looking at your hotel's location and see how far it would be. Always best to go around on the BTS anyway, cheap, fast and no hassle with taxi drivers. |

Hahaha, can't really help out too much there since I don't stay in hotels when in BKK. Sorry! But the street that I live in is finely located though. Major malls in walking distance and/or 1 or 2 stations away.
Mostly are 5 star hotels though.... but you can try Erawan or Amarin, lotsa malls around it and pratunam is pretty close too, not to mention central world is just literally across the street. Don't recall their rates though Anywhere near a BTS should be fine really. |

Oh right lol, sorry, was too hasty. They are all malls, mostly to shop. Gaysorn and the one just opposite it is full of branded and high end stuff. Almost like star hill.
Depends on where you wanna eat though. Central world has a ton of restaurants and the food court is supposedly ranked pretty well too. |

Well, can be useful to bring along.. But just doing a lil homework on keywords before hand should be sufficient really.
A calculator also helps too, if you are into bargaining and such. Might sound lame to bring along, but it actually does help! |

Pandar loves the BTS too
Well, it depends on how much of BKK you'll be covering. BKK itself is huge, if you plan to cover like a part of BKK then another part on the other side of the city, getting another hotel in a diff area can save you some traveling time |
