im going to bangkok next month, so when i reach there i got thai prepaid number already, so can make outgoing calls immediately tongue.gif
using my maxis line overthere will cost me a bomb
*
you may get a brand new dtac prepaid card once you arrive at the airport.

it is for sell at 199 baht (sim card is 99 baht, call is 100 bath), which should be sufficient for your trip.

I heard its very hard to get prepaid line there, need deposit somemore, is that true?

no not true. you are buying prepaid, not postpaid, less hassle.

oh i double checked,

you pay 199 baht in total. 99 baht for sim card, 100 baht for call.

Okay, I’m back from my 5D4N Bangkok trip… aww I wish I could stay longer!!! biggrin.gif

We enjoyed:-

(a) Shopping
- Indra Plaza – Pratunam
- Platinum Plaza – Pratunam
- Pratunam Wholesale market – Pratunam
- Pantip Plaza (IT Mall) – Pratunam
- Central World – Pratunam
- Big C - Pratunam
- MBK – Siam
- Siam Paragon - Siam
- Chatuchak – Mo Chit

(b) Food
- Tom yum (mild/milky/spicy/super spicy) – Available at almost every food stall/at any corner
- Sticky Mango rice – sweet mango, yum yum
- Pad tai – stir-fried keuy tiow in Thai style
- Fried oyster omelet – oysters are big and succulent
- Seafood - Chinatown (T&K Seafood @ Yaowaraj) – the famous red vs green shirt
- Japanese food – Ten Sui Japanese at Legacy Suites Hotel, Sukhumvit
- Japanese Steamboat Buffet – MBK Shopping Mall - You’re given 60 min to eat, eat-all-you-can, time is money, their food is on a conveyor belt like how you see in our local sushi stall
- Italian food – Salad, pizza & pasta
- Hawker food along the streets – Convenient, taste good, price is reasonable too
- Food court in shopping mall – Various variety, clean & reasonable price

© Accommodation
- Citin Hotel – Pratunam – approx RM130 per night.
3-star hotel, ideal location, can use Baiyoke Sky Hotel as landmark (easier for taxi driver), walking distance from all the shopping paradises. Convenient store, massage, makan, all are easily accessible.

- Legacy Suites Hotel – Sukhumvit – approx RM500 per night
5-star hotel, upper class range, spacious room and even comes with kitchen and a mini living hall. It is linked with a Japanese restaurant named Ten Sui – not to be missed. Their shashimi is so fresh! … Big swimming pool… I even bought a pair of bikini but no time to swim!! Aww!

(d) Transportation
- MRT (Underground)
- BTS (Sky Train)
- Taxi (So colourful, so many)
- Tuk Tuk (Eating dust…good for short distance)
- Jalan KAKI!! (Sweat sweat… good exercise)

(e) 1st time experience
- Spent 60 min for covering one soi (road) in Chatuchak ONLY!!
(we walk, shop, walk, buy, stop, walk…probably take me a year to cover the whole JJ, omg)
- Tuk Tuk – fast & furious, make sure you hold tight.
- Foot massage by (not so pretty) ah kua.
- SPA full body massage – so relaxing.
It was my first time being naked in front of a stranger (shy).
She massaged my full body from head to toe, except my breast & private part.. Aromatic lavender scent, birds chipping and water flowing background music, dimmed yellow light, followed by her professional massage technique, she touched every inch of my skin, so tenderly, so gently, ahh, I’m begging for more!

Places that we missed:-
Suan Lum night market, red district places like Pat Phong, Nana (too late, too tired already after shopping from morning to evening …), pork burger at Mcdonalds…what else har, lemme think…

=======================================================

Lastly, total damage approx RM 1,500 (shopping + air tix only) – WORTH IT!!! HAHAHA!
I bought 10++ pair of dresses (mostly are Jap style which is my favourite), accessories, handbag, under garments (woo sexy lacey, love it), shoes bla bla bla …. !!

They even have roll-play uniforms for nurses / school uni / maid…. anime uni oso have, sailormoon, etc etc – so tempted to buy, but didn’t buy at last, aiya…!

P/s: People in Thailand are very friendly & soft-spoken. They can speak basic English, so basically communication isn’t a big problem. All in all, I’d love to go Thailand AGAIN!!! wub.gif

my sister and her family left to BKK yesterday~ holiday~~~~ so nice. i have to sit in office and work...haizzzzz.

not many things in thailand is halal. im not a super strict muslim so as long as there is no pork i will eat it.
but you have to becareful in thailand. because apparently..."bacon" and "pepperoni" are not considered to be meat doh.gif for some reason.
so your vege pizza will have bacon bits on it. or small pepperoni slices on the crust doh.gif. also a tuna sandwich they will have bacon inside.
so check. they treat it like a garnish more than a meat hahahahah.
*
oh i didnt know that panda-man is a muslim biggrin.gif

the last meal i had in bkk was in a restaurant @ airport. they served pork meat as well. hmmm.

by the way, do they have any Mcdonalds in survanabhumi airport?
i asked the secuity guard, he said yes yes yes, i walked from one end to another, i only see burger kings!!!

read about you guys review, we even jotted a remark, must try the food at suan lum food court. didnt make it... leave it for next time la biggrin.gif

Guys, I be going next month to Bangkok and plan to book on this hotel : Citin Pratunam http://www.citinpratunam.com/

I need some advise here, i be going in 4 person but now only thinking book 1 Superior Twin Room and stated 2 guests only.  Question is can i attempt like sneak into 4 person ? Do they care about this or i need to pretend 2 registered and other 2 come in to the hotel later?

Guy, please help and advice .. Thanks !!
*
i stayed at the same hotel too. 3 person in 1 room.
you just pay extra 60 bucks for the 3rd person.

to answer to your question,

- the room cannot accomodate 4 persons (see photo)
- and yes, of course they will know, because the bellboy would carry your luggage for you.
- you just need to top up extra 60 ringgit for each person

thats the first time i seen three single beds lined up like that. well three proper beds at least. usually the 3rd bed is some crappy steel frame they drag out from the closet.
*
yah, i'd give a thumbs up for Citin on this.

they brought us to a 2-bed room initially, then he moved us to a 3-bed room.

QUOTE(state of abyssmal @ Mar 5 2009, 01:36 AM)
hi all,
just wanna share with u all my trip to bangkok last week. When there with my family, my uncle and my auntie. there were 8 of us. biggrin.gif
good part:
lotsa things can be bought at cheap price such as boxer and tshirt  tongue.gif

bad part.
The food is not cheap compare to KL. sweat.gif

worst part
stay 1 day at their JAIL for some stupid reason  doh.gif

The story begins when me and my family wanna go back to KL. It was on monday 2nd March 2009. My flight is at 2.15pm (thai time) using MAS airplane. My family travel there using MAS while my uncle& auntie using AIRASIA flight at 130pm.

My uncle when to their duty shops to buy 1 carton of ciggie.when he wanna pay the ciggie, the cashier put 1 box of ciggie on the carton so my uncle though it was a free sample or free gift, so he simply just put the 1 box of ciggie and the 1 carton into the plastic bag. so he just simply walkout and 5 minutes later the police and the security came over and arrest him. The police said he stole the ciggie.(the box) The cashier deny that she was the one that put the box on the carton. so ends up my uncle in the jail.

So inside the jail there we around 8 people and best part 6 of them from malaysia, 1 from singapore and 1 from india. All being caught for stupid reason. The indian guy was in the jail because of 1 stupid pen!!! he wanna find the cashier to pay the pen but being accused trying to steal the pen  doh.gif he have pay the police over there about 70k USD but still inside the JAIL. wtf??? The SG guy because using FAKE passport LOL. All the malaysia people were there because of the stupid reason. 1 DATUK were there because the security though he wanna steal a sunglasses that cost few bucks and now the datuk now already being in the jail for  months... LOTSA money has been given to their authority but he still there.

My dad when there to bail out my uncle, he pay them RM10k. so they release my uncle from the jail at the police station, but when he when to the airport again he being sent to their immigration jail...WTF??? they want my dad to pay more money and my dad said he already give 10k to the police. But they said they need to pay something , so my dad give another 4k, end up they release my uncle. The ask for more money for the airplane ticket , but my dad said he wanna buy the ticket himself and they said no no no... AIRASIA fill already FULL, u need to buy other plane. So my dad said he dont have any more money, only 1400 for the airasia, so my father want to sign his CC.

When they heard about my dad wanna sign CC, simply they change story said airasia still got ticket and please give the 1400 now. The ticket actually cost about 1k for 3 of them.
the "pow" 400ringgit...damm...

So after pay everything, they give my dad, uncle and auntie pass the gate, but once my auntie walk they straight away arrest her because there were no chop in the passport for release. Then my dad said " u were the one that ask us to walk and now u arrest her" then my dad show them the release letter. then day said ok now you may walk... WTF???

before going back, they still can say, u still can come to thailand for holiday. but for me and my family that will be the fist and the last. No more thailand after this. Our embassy at thailand really helps us a lot. Thanks a lot. They advice us dont ever come to thailand and please remind your friends and family about this. EVEN if you now super high Commissioner  but if you dont have money, you still stuck there in the jail like the datuk. There were 400 Malaysian stuck at their prison because of this issues. most of them dont have money to bail out, so they stuck there for 2-3 years. A lot of "ulat-ulat" and "macai-macai" came to my dad said there can release my uncle if my dad pay 50k...wtf??? but some of them in the jail tell my uncle they already pay the ulat-ulat lotsa money but still stuck here for months. Dont ever trust them. I really pity them. you came for holiday but end up stuck there forever. sad.gif

The bribery in thailand is super worst. every thing must pay.... their immigrations, police man all corrupted kaw-kaw. Lucky i was born in KL. thank god  nod.gif

So my advice here to you all that wanna go to thailand, please be carefull. DONT you ever try to buy things from their duty free shops. They already created a trap for you. Im very lucky to walk away but my uncle stuck in the jail.

So ladies and gentlemen, have fun in thailand. The fun is for few days but the hells remains forever.  notworthy.gif

Anyone been ot the buffet dinners in Baiyoke Sky? Those at the top of the hotel.. How much is it now?
*
http://www.baiyokehotel.com/index.php?site...aurants&lang=en

read from blog, the buffet dinner isnt that good. the blogger left the restaurant with dissapoinment.

i'd recommend Ten Sui Japanese Restaurant @ Legacy Suites Hotel (in Sukhumvit).

the ala carte lunch is good (cheaper)
i heard dinner is more expensive.
