As for g501 be prepare for the heat and/or thermal throttling(I think it will have thermal throttling due to the thinness.) This post has been edited by AthrunIJ: Jun 12 2015, 11:04 PM

U really convinced that msi learn their lesson wif the kitchen ware range.... I dun really believe they gonna change. As I mentioned in other post.. Taiwan brand got QC issues wif the new model.. So I suggest wait 2 to 4 months.. Pro n cons should surface then

Im.going to use my laptop for studies as well so l thats why thin and lightweight laptop is a priority to me. And if I add HP OMEN to the list, which one is better? If you can handle the heat and bad after sale service the g501 is fine as its hardware is capable for gaming. HP omen is also a good choice as seeing that it is a premium product. But the port are at the back of the chassis. After sale service is also fine (I have encounter it before as I use HP laptop.) This post has been edited by AthrunIJ: Jun 13 2015, 08:24 AM

QUOTE(sscloudstrifey @ Jun 13 2015, 08:23 AM) Aww man I know right, so is there amy other options in that my budget range? 3k-4.5 k Like i said thin gaming laptop, you would need a big fat wallet. So my suggestion is as follow. Get a decent laptop Then hunt for a good laptop bag to ease the stress. Get a laptop bag with broad shoulder pad to ease the pressure on the shoulder and when you carry it dont let it "hang" behind your back. You would not feel much of the weight of the laptop. Apart from what you have told me. Illegear Z5,Q series MSI GE62 Lenovo Y50 Acer Nitro This post has been edited by AthrunIJ: Jun 13 2015, 08:28 AM

QUOTE(sscloudstrifey @ Jun 13 2015, 08:23 AM) Aww man I know right, so is there amy other options in that my budget range? 3k-4.5 k The only thin ad light gaming notebook (2-2.1kg)around now are only HP Omen (860m) and Asus G501 (960m). I would suggest HP Omen even tho using a older version gpu (performance around 10% less than 960m). HP Omen should be more suitable for a girl due to it's premium look and quality. Asus G501 may look decent but now got issue with their heat dissipation and of course, not-so-ok after sales service. The rest of the notebook are good but heavier with weight 2.4kg and above (Lenovo Y50, Acer Vnitro, Illegear Z5, etc), price range about the same.

QUOTE(sscloudstrifey @ Jun 13 2015, 08:23 AM) Aww man I know right, so is there amy other options in that my budget range? 3k-4.5 k Z5 is the best bang of buck if you EXCLUDE OS. Z5 provides the best air ventilation so far and better price spec ratio, as long as you exclude OS. But the weight and look is not suitable for girls I believe. If I'm to choose between Asus G501 or HP Omen, I will go for Omen, but I will go for 512gb SSD variant since I find the other storage option to be very limiting. Few games and your storage are almost full. Eg: GTA V used 60gb+, imagine you got other game like Wolfenstein or Witcher 3. But of course that 512gb variant is out of your budget

And how much would it be if its possible?
