hi, all sifus
Will reach kyoto around 930-10am, is it wise to visit tokufuji - uji

or kiyomizu (2nd visit) - nanzenji - eikando

i heard during autumn season, the crowd in tokufuji will be super scary.. should i just leave it to my day2 in kyoto and reach there very early?

I m quite worry if it will be too cold during nov in japan.. especially when travelling to kawaguchiko lake with my 2 year old kid. According to forecast will be (1 - 10celcius) and the temperature may drop further down if the wind is blowing

any chances there will be snowing during november?

My friend told me that we can get warm pack easily from convenience store?

sorry: abit off topic here
any has review on uniqlo heattech? plan to buy few pieces for her as inner wear, with long sleeve and jacket on top, as well as scarf/cap/gloves.
Quite difficult to get winter clothes for her size thou.. i have tried wintertime and universal traveller, it's all too big for her, may be i need to "taobao" but worry about the quality. Any suggestion where to get the winter clothes for toddler in malaysia?

many thanks

Hi all sifu,
where can i get the osaka kaiyukan ticket besides the aquarium itself? will there a long Q if i buy on the spot?

I actually plan to visit the kaiyukan during sunset time(nov) as it s more “indoor” so that i will have more daylight somewhere else in osaka.. will the ticket sold out for the day?
I dont want to dissapoint my kid ya

plan to either visit arashiyama on 22 or 23rd of november.
Plan to take the torokko train from Kameoka → Sagano (ealiest train if possible). However, i m very worry it's will be fully reserved as it's super peak season
I guess the only way is by reserving through agent/friend in japan.

anyway read that most seat is open for sale 3 day in advance, while those 1 month advance is for the cart no.1.

Anyone has experience reserving the seat?
need make some decision.. pay 3x price or gamble in JR counter?

Hi, would like to get some opinions:

1. We will be taking the Shinkansen Nozomi from Kyoto station on mid November Thursday morning (6:27am/6:38am), do we need to buy the ticket one or two days earlier or just buy on the spot will do. I prefer to buy the ticket on the spot for more flexibility, the tickets won't sold out right?

2. If we want to take taxi from Kiyomizu-gojo area to Kyoto station about 6am morning, is the taxi easily available or needs to be book in advance? How to book a cab in Japan? Any apps like MyTeksi? How about the rate at 6am, still regular rate right?
*
hi jefferenelee our's plan is about the same.. tokyo -> kyoto , would like to take the earliest train, but worry will be late.. plus we are staying in shinjuku, transfer to tokyo station take sometimes, and worry about getting lost in tokyo station rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

so to all sifu,
1)early shinkansen can be sold out? (during mid of novermber)
2)if let say i have preserve a seat in certain shinkansen, and somehow miss it. I still can take next train with free seating right?
3)will the shinkansen ticket counter have a long Q in the morning?

I took the same route tokyo -> kyoto via shinkansen 2 years ago... what i can recall is i need to run tokyo station haha hmm.gif
anyway i will explore abit in tokyo station day ahead while i make my trip to disneyland.

sifu, what is the penalty? burn the reserve seat only?

we are staying in shinjuku, thus
Shinjuku -> JR chuo rapid line -> Tokyo

The arrival platform of chuo rapid nearby to shinkansen departure platform?

Nop really that near. 20 minute process by switching platform.

Penalty means pay another 50% cost of unreserve fare.

And if you really bad luck, banyak sui to max. Next train also full of people at unreserver eat section and you cannot board it. Means bye bye to your money.
*
hmm really lot's of challenges... then i need to reach tokyo station at least 40minutes before the boarding time.
decision decision, to reserve seat or not in advance

20th november considered peak season? (a day before the long weekend holiday)
i actually would like to reach kyoto as early as possible to utilise the daylight time for sightseeing in kyoto.
i think the safest plan is to book a "acceptable"-early shinkansen instead of super early one..

gomen, it was me  sweat.gif i went trigger happy with the camera from the moment i landed. took all the photos while walking, signboards, planes, advertisement board, people, and eventually didn't realized i was already in the immigration until i saw one guard kept showing hand gesture "X" to foreign visitors that tried to take pictures too  sweat.gif
i rented from visondata.com.my
The bus that morning was like less than 10 people, free seating. If you want, you can buy the morning ticket from japanican. it is cheaper too than the actual price:
http://www.japanican.com/en/tour/detail/TK...pecd=PRA&kw=Bus

The bus reached 6.50am and departed right on time. I reached kawaguchiko around 9.20am, 5 minutes early. Please be advise that you can't purchase a return ticket (eg from kawaguchiko to shinagawa) from haneda airport. You can buy it once you reached the kawaguchiko station. So best to do it once you arrived right away. The counter is located in a room on the left of the station ticket gates. My return journey to shinagawa on the next day was even less people lol. The best thing about the bus, they got toilet inside.

As for the onsen, ok la. my first time, so i dont have much comment haha. but it was nice since i'm able to dip myself in while watching fuji-san the whole time. had to spend more to take that private onsen becoz going naked in front of other guys is not my thing  laugh.gif

some of the shots of the konansou:

I took the earliest Nozomi 99 at 6.00AM from Shinagawa. It reached kyoto station at 8.02AM
Seriously kyoto got too many tourist, locasl and foreigners during my time of visit  rclxub.gif  If according to my original plan, i suppose to go to the tokufuji temple, but i decided to skip it since fushimi inari alone was a lot of people. I didn't walk very deep to the top. Save it for the next time. From fushimi inari, i saved a lot of time by taking taxi straight to kiyomizu dera. It cost around 1800+ yen if not mistaken. I also took taxi from kiyomizudera to kinkakuji. that one slightly expensive around 2400+ yen including the road to kiyomizuderwa was packed with bus. But yes, save more time compared to wait for the bus. There are no train station near with kinkakuji, so i decided to go with the taxi, even back to kyoto station  sweat.gif

So bus from haneda->kawaguchiko got toilet?
i will stay in shinjuku instead of shinagawa, should stay nearby tokyo station instead as will visit disneyland the next day, then depart to kyoto on the next next day.
