well, the intention is not for the rides, but rather the closing show/parade, which is supposed to be really nice for Christmas season.. besides, most aren't interested in Disneyland, only my mother is..
*
I been Disneyland from 10.00am until 22.00pm...on morning and afternoon you need to que up 30 minutes to 1 hour..after show parade over..most of rides are empty ..around 7.30pm...If I not mistaken,there 2-3 time parade..around 4.00pm and last is 7.00pm..When you come on End of December..4.00pm to 4.30pm will be dark already. smile.gif

@RegentCid, @sacwoc and other sifus, I'm visiting Tokyo with my 5 year old kid and I have a Suica card from my previous trip to Tokyo. From my homework, I gather that my 5 year old kid travels for free with an accompanying adult (me).

Now, my question is how do both of us walk pass the turnstiles at JR train/Tokyo metro stations after swiping my Suica card? Will the machine detect and allow a small child to walk through with an accompanying adult or would I have to be prepared to seek help from train station staff if one of us can't get pass the turnstiles after swiping my Suica?
*
For kids age below 6 year old are free ride with their parents . If you kids are elementary school for age 7 year old above there you need to buy the train ticket. Not only at trains but you can get free entry like Ueno Zoo or Aquarium . I got free entrance for kid at age 3 and have to pay for 6 year during my visit to Disneyland.

Before you swiping your Suica card ,make sure your kid already in front of you. So far,i traveling with kids age 3 and 6..don`t have any problem.

Not recommended to use baby stroller because connecting other metro stations use stairs .Only a few places have lift. smile.gif

Hi, I'm planning for my first trip to Japan next February. I just have  a few lingering questions.

1. How much should I set aside? I don't eat/buy much, is 3-4k enough for domestic travel/accommodation/food?

2. This is my initial itinerary. Any thoughts/feedback are welcome!

1/2 Arrival Osaka-Tokyo
2/2 Tokyo
3/2 Tokyo-Hakone-Shizuoka
4/2 Shizuoka-Hamamatsu-Nagoya
5/2 Nagoya-Kyoto
6/2 Kyoto-Osaka
7/2 Osaka-Departure KUL
*
Not enough 4K..should be more . You will eat lots during Winter time...February smile.gif

*
Recommended to bring Malaysia Local Dry foods during your trips to Japan such Maggi Cup Noodle..Bread..you will save lots of money smile.gif . Based currency exchange now with RM3.50 for ¥100 。

For Transport,you bring fold bicycle ...sure save lots of Money...

Bring your own tent and sleeping beg. biggrin.gif . I assume 3K to 4K are plenty enough for you at least 2 weeks in Japan.

TADAIMA!!! I'M BACK FROM A 16 DAYS TRIP IN JAPAN!!!!
16 days is never enough for Japan.

We went to Osaka, Takayama, Shirakawago, Kanazawa, Toyama, Kurobe Gorge, Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Matsumoto, Kawaguchiko, Tokyo, Nikko, Karuizawa, Enoshima, Kamakura...

What I hate about Japan? sky gets dark too early, as early as 5pm, so what we can do during the day is very limited.

Fortunately, during my stay, most of the days are clear with blue sky. Only one day at Fuji 5th station with heavy fog, cant see the fuji mountain peak. But we got to see it again at Hangetsusan, Nikko 300km away the following week.

Time to plan for my next trip!~
*
Welcome home..

Its Autumn season to Winter season..day time will short. Around January or February ..4.00pm to 4.30pm already dark.. smile.gif

Aiyoh not that hot lah, around 38-43 deg only. Having said that, even 43 deg oso farking hot, go in feel like all the warriors inside my telur dying.
If got private onsen, why not rent/book it for family time and onsen together?

Also I agree with Samurai to let her mother jaga. Cos non-private onsen all bogel, surely better for your girl to see other nekkid women vs see other nekked men, no?
*
Based on my experience with Onsen...normally during Summer..38-43 deg..agree but Winter..water temp will going up to 50-60 Celsius...

After snowboarding ,normally I`m going to onsen...for 1-2 hour. Just Imagine on top of the hill..Temp around -10 Celsius to -30 Celsius... smile.gif

For any currency exchange, please discuss in the currency exchange thread. If those who wanna go overseas to travel yet are unable to accommodate for the increase in exchange rate, I suggest to travel to someplace else within their budget. This thread is to discuss travel, not currency exchange.

[attachmentid=5273392]

For the schedule, I started as early as 6am to take the train from Tokyo to Nagano. Just use hyperdia to arrange your timing and try not to take taxi la....I don't think taxi is easy to catch there. The bus is a better option. When you exit the train station, turn right and you will see the bus booth to buy the tickets. There will be people standing there and directing you to go buy tickets there. It's a famous tourist attraction place. So don't worry, you won't get lost wink.gif

Are you going to Shirakawa-go as well?
*
Next Week, I`m going to Shirakawa and Takayama... any local food tips here..smile.gif

oh, food I have alot tips.....

[attachmentid=5273879]
Soeur Cafe, Takayama
Soeur has awesome baked goods, as well as really tasty coffee and herbal teas. The back wall of the cafe is one massive floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the Miyagawa River. Add in the lazy jazz background music, and it’s a perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon or take a break from sightseeing.

[attachmentid=5273891]
Pumpkin pudding is a must try in Takayama. You can buy this at Le Midi

Hida Beef also a must try in Takayama. Try at Heianraku or  Bistro Kanzo
