Been looking around google to find how to purchase the shinkansen ticket but turn out not fruitful.

Would need help from sifu around ... I will need a one way ticket from Osaka to Odawara or Tokyo but I could not find anywhere that I can purchase the ticket online. Is it I need to buy direct at the station when I'm there?
*
Buy direct at the station.

Oooo ... this is my first trip to Japan and I worry about the sold out ticket. So normally this wont happen rite since their train running at so much ...
*
What I did was, when i touched down Japan, on my first day, I went to the train station to purchase all my tickets in advance. So, you really must know when you want to travel to Tokyo and the time too. Just use hyperdia.com to check the shinkanshen schedule. Sold out tickets normally on long holidays of Japan as the local ppl also go holiday.....

Can anyone help? cuz the bus schedule is in japanese... notworthy.gif
*
From Tokyo station get on Shinkansen ASAMA to Nagano city - 90min, 222km οΏ₯8.000, 222km

In Nagano station change for Nagano Dentesu Line to Yudanaka st. in Yamanouchi town - 50min, 33km, οΏ₯1.230 express, or οΏ₯1.130 not express

From Yudanaka station - you can take public bus and get of at Kanbayashi bus stop, or take Taxi up there - 7 min, 7km, οΏ₯1.500 (buy tickets from the bus booth just next to the train station)
From Kanbayashi follow the signs of Snow Monkeys and you have to walk 25min, 2km
β€’Your JR pass doesn't cover train from Nagano st. to Yudanaka st. -it's different train company

The bus at Yudanaka station is available every 30mins, so no worries.

hey mich!
thanks a lot rclxms.gif

I got worry because i estimate reaching yudanaka station probably around noon then walk up there, come down, maybe 3pm or 4pm liao? last bus picked from Kanbayashi is when lei? do you know the exact bus number or name?

thank you!!
*
Just walk back to the place where the bus dropped you. There is a small pondok and you can see the bus schedule there. Stay there and wait for the bus. If I can remember, it is hourly and the bus takes you directly to Nagano station.

nah.....my Takayama's photo tongue.gif
[attachmentid=5273392]

For the schedule, I started as early as 6am to take the train from Tokyo to Nagano. Just use hyperdia to arrange your timing and try not to take taxi la....I don't think taxi is easy to catch there. The bus is a better option. When you exit the train station, turn right and you will see the bus booth to buy the tickets. There will be people standing there and directing you to go buy tickets there. It's a famous tourist attraction place. So don't worry, you won't get lost wink.gif

Are you going to Shirakawa-go as well?

Next Week, I`m going to Shirakawa and Takayama... any local food tips here..smile.gif
*
oh, food I have alot tips.....

[attachmentid=5273879]
Soeur Cafe, Takayama
Soeur has awesome baked goods, as well as really tasty coffee and herbal teas. The back wall of the cafe is one massive floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the Miyagawa River. Add in the lazy jazz background music, and it’s a perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon or take a break from sightseeing.

[attachmentid=5273891]
Pumpkin pudding is a must try in Takayama. You can buy this at Le Midi

Hida Beef also a must try in Takayama. Try at Heianraku or Bistro Kanzo

i tried the Le Midi pudding during my recent trip. didnt quite like it, maybe im not used to its rough texture. there is one stall at the Miyagawa Morning Market selling pudding too, that one is yums....

Hida Beef can try at Maruaji too...
IMHO, the Hida beef I tried is better than Matsusaka Beef Yakiniku M in Osaka.Β  sweat.gif
*
the pudding you tried at the market must be this....
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

This is softer compered to the pumpkin. bcos the pumpkin got pumpkin inside that's why it's not so smooth.

As for the beef, I think you are referring to Maruaki....it is way more expensive than my earlier recommendation. And this one, the beef quality like drop d and portion so small.
