Hi,
For you hardcore C2D guys - what is your mobo temp and what are your idle/load temps using stock Intel cooler (measured using coretemp, Intel TAT or Everest only) ?
I need to poll as I think my ambient temp is quite high (45C, warm room) and I'm thinking heat is a big problem.
THanks!

What softwares you all use?? I got many kinds of reading using different programs.. and i think core temp and TAT is much trustable.. [Mobo bios (Gigabyte GA- DS3 F6 bios) - 42C Speedfan 4.31 - 41C Core temp 0.93 - 50C Intel TAT - 52C When under 100% load under TAT is 65C While the Maximum Thermal Specification according to INTEL for C2D is 61.4°C, this is considered the maximum temperature for the CPU.

thanks guys!
elmoboy, coretemp and TAT measures the temperature of the diode in the CPU itself, so it's the most accurate (and hence higher readings compared to eg speedfan).

Hi,
I just got a e6400 and a Gigabyte DS3, using the stock Intel cooler.
In the BIOS under PC Health Status I set the "Fan Speed Control Method" to DISABLE as I want my CPU fan to run at full speed.
Now I undervolt the CPU from stock 1.3V to lower e.g. 1.23V as I want to reduce my CPU temp but I notice that the CPU fan speed also reduces in RPM even though it's not supposed to(eg from 3000rpm to 2500rpm). As a result the CPU temp is still high.
Apa macam? On F7 bios - is anyone else having similar issues?
Thanks!

i think there is a temperature sensor on the fan .

Look at all my stars!!

My fan speed runs at lower RPM regardless of whatever setting that I set.

I'm running mine at around 3Ghz, with two instances folding@home running, temps is more or less around 61C.
*measured using CoreTemp software.

Mobo is DS3, and yeah I'm on stock Intel HSF. Ambient roughly around 30C-40C, I'm using a Lian Li V1000 Plus by the way.

Ok finally weaned off Orthos for stability and just started both cores folding. Temps are much lower than Orthos @ load, much like yours c9...about 62-63C vs 68C for Orthos.
thanks again!
