QUOTE(Blofeld @ Jun 11 2015, 05:36 PM) That Jason guy from Axian Food Adventure explained the origin of bak kut teh before. Teh refers to the surname of the shop owner of that shop nearby below the bridge in Klang. That shop was the one which popularized Bak Kut Teh. Teh has nothing to do with tea. So, it all started from there. He didn't mention anything about drug addicts also. QUOTE(J.F.Y @ Jun 11 2015, 06:22 PM) Bkt is chinese word....if it's a surname then 肉古茶 will be 肉古叶....doesn't make sense dude....might be coincidence that his surname is Teh but end up wrote it as 茶 instead of 叶 In Bak Kut TeN* or 肉骨茶, the TeN or 茶 here refers to Chinese medicine in liquid form or 藥茶.dunno you understand chinese or not but in china and even japan....most drinks with herbs we call it 茶 aka cha aka teh *N=nasalize This post has been edited by orcinus.orca: Jun 11 2015, 06:40 PM |

I thought bkt originated from Klang right, this is really an excellent recipe, the originator should receive recognition on it. when I was in China, I saw a shop name Klang bkt. feel proud to be Malaysian.
