1700bt is mainly for music lovers/audiophiles, its high, mid range is clear, the bass is enough for music listening. On movie & game side, bass it is quite lacking. It is NOT a speaker for games/movie!

M3600D = dont bother at the moment, they have QC issue with the subwoofer. I listened satelite b4. Mid is good enough, but the treble is lacking for music. cant verify for bass since woofer got problem.

At this moment you should look for other speaker like edifier C3X or logitech Z623 for movie. Z623 is a little more on the base side, C3x is better on mid/treble

For music, look for those 2.0 book shelf. For completeness = Take S350DB. It is a complete item. it has better satellite than 1700bt and also come with a subwoofer for bass. For movie/game it is also decent enough.

The S350DB bass is tigther, more suited for music, but doesnt do bad in movie/gaming. It just barely edge out my Klipshch GMX 2.1. So if you are absolute mindless basshead person, IMO it is better to take S530/S730 or those logitech speaker.

Note: i tested all these on show room myself. But for S350db & Klipsch gmx 2.1 = I own these speaker.

For your budget, i will recommend you give R501TIII a try.
