You can get the best out of the Note 5 with an easily driven earphone or unless you wanna go for OTG to a DAC then to an amp. How do you like the sound now? That's the more important concern  smile.gif

ic... So its good enuf for the note 5 quality? I had planned before that i want to get otg with dragonfly dac... If it dosent help boast alot i might just keep that away..

You may need to try one with DAC->amp to justify your choice. As long as you are happy! Don't spend the extra. My opinion though

Well, another thing is.. people usually have things like "portable rig", "desktop rig", "laptop rig", "home rig"... I have learnt one thing throughout the years.. be contented.. but first, seek and find the sound that you love first which doesn't necessary to be something really costly

Yea, first of all create a Taobao account first. Then you can start to shop! Can pay through credit card or bank transfer (Maybank2u, CIMBClicks, etc) with 1.5% service charge

And sorry for the lame name. Created the account many years back when I was younger

Lelong seller ioline http://www.lelong.com.my/merchant/ioline.htm
He is simply reselling the China-made DAC with much higher price, at least double!

I bought the DAC for RM100 (excluding shipping), even including shipping is within RM130. Guess what, he is selling at RM230 and the retail price is at ridiculous RM350?!
Even higher than the RenMinBi!

People need to be educated and stop feeding those unethical businessmen!

Since no reference / official Malaysia distributor, he can put any price he want as retail price. He selling RM 219+8, is on the high side but still not too crazy high. I order mine not directly but via forum-er here in Lowyat about RM 150.00. RM 227 for someone cannot wait maybe not too expensive smile.gif

I don't know this seller and I've to admit that the price is too high, but sometimes import goods from oversea is not so easy as you imagine. smile.gif

Most of the Taobao agents do not declare the items legally (unless they can provide you custom document). They no need to pay custom duty (DAC, Amp is 15%, cable is 30%), GST and cleanrance charges. The shipping cost is also much lower than those legal courier company such as Fedex and DHL (the price is around double!). They seldom give you full refund or will take very long time to investigate if the parcel is missing. They also don't provide warranty service (send back to China via Pos Laju, first KG is RM45). Some of them don't have a retail shop, so no need to pay the rental, electricity, or even company income tax. All these expenses sometimes are even higher than the RMB cost price.

No offense, just sharing my personal experience. smile.gif

I see. Thanks for the info.
I'm not sure about the legal issue, how could other courier services are illegal?

I would say that reselling things with much marked up price is not legal definitely.

Meaning, you get the parcel without any official document. Not paying import tax, not paying GST maybe.

I'm not saying that those courier company is "illegal". However, those agents who help you to contact courier company and settle all export procedures won't help you to declare the items legally, otherwise they need to apply a lot of permit, especially for electronics item. Normally the courier company just close their eyes and accept what they declared. They just mix those un-declared stuff with other regular stock in the same container. This is a open secret already. They call it "買關", which means "buy the custom". tongue.gif

I know a lot of this kind of "agent" that told you their service are"包稅"(means the postage charges is already including tax). Believe me, they will never declare the items legally. Otherwise that's not possible to quote you the price for RM10+ per KG and including all the expenses and tax. smile.gif

If you want to import things legally, try to find those agents who can declare the items properly and can provide you the complete documents from custom. The postage and processing fee definitely will be higher, and you will need to pay tax and GST.

You can still keep using those Taobao agents who offer cheaper price, but you have to bear the risk.
The other way is buy things from the retail shop that take stock from Taobao, if they provide good service and warranty, but the price definitely will be higher.
