looking for a dac to connect my android tv box to an older analog amp. current analog out on the android box is really muddy and rubbish. looking at fiio d03k but is it still available? what other options do i have, not planning to spend.

Equipment: Luxman L2, Avid 100
Requirement: Output optical spdif from android box to be converted to analog for amp. mainly for music streaming and some light movies

budget 2-3k, oppo bdp-105 seems not bad but over budget.
bdp-103 just fit my budget but it dont have asynchronous usb to connect to laptop/pc, which i expect in dac.

oppo bdps are blue ray players not dac

is your hifi running balanced

some ppl recommend saying that it has built in dac chip.
anyway what is meant by running balance?

btw my current setup is quite simple:
1)Cayin MT-35 tube amplifier
2)Triangle Color bookshelf speaker
3)sherwood cd player
4)highland audio subwoofer

fiio x1 sometimes when I got the cds I wan and rip it to flac
so its going to be a bonus if the dac amp works with both devices

Yup. Directly from Taobao. It's easier compared with few years back

You can get the best out of the Note 5 with an easily driven earphone or unless you wanna go for OTG to a DAC then to an amp. How do you like the sound now? That's the more important concern
