Affin have promo but not worth it when you count the effective rates.

Those are board rates. That's why the sifus of lowyat forum hunt for promo rates. Why want to put at low board rates when you can put at higher promo rates? My principle is always maximise the bank to the max. If you are unable to maximise the bank to the max, look for another bank. tongue.gif

Banks are freaking rich. Why let them become richer when they can give you more?

The 2 drawbacks are :
1) need to hunt for promo (that's why we have this forum)
2) upon maturity, need to withdraw and hunt for promo rates again or else you will get freaking low board rates.

Hope you are clear now..

why OCBC, UOB, PBB,Maybank,Hongleong,RHB all got FD promotion 3.95%~4.x%, only CIMB no promotion????
*
Why cimb? Your loyalty should lies with the bank able to give you the best rates. Do not give banks more money then they need (go for board rates or lower FD rates). I don't know know about you, but my loyalty (I will put fd with) lies with banks able to give me the highest interest that is protected by pidm. I will not hesitate to change banks in the event their interest rates are lower than their competitor's.

If efd sure consider. If not efd, then no. They need to offer >=4.2%/year for me to take up their offer.
