Even if they increase 25pts, what's the point? Is like a throwing salt into an ocean. No dent at all towards the slide.

learn from some one who like to say: what is the point? 0.05% for 10k is RM5.
*
I will tell you this, if you haven't put your FD, go chase that 0.05%. If you have put your FD, let it be. You drive to the bank to argue for that 0.05%, your petrol also burn. Not to mention need to find parking, waste time

Guys, want to tell you the Maybank Islamic eFD 1 month effective interest rate is >3.25% drool.gif thumbup.gif

I deposited RM5500 last month, this month received RM15.18 ( (RM15.18 x 12) / RM5500 )x 100% = 3.312%!!!

15.18/5500*365/31 = 3.24967%. In fact, less than 3.25% for the sake of argument laugh.gif
*
Calculations is done

amount x interest x (days/365) or (month/12 months) = final interest gain.

In this case RM5500 x 0.0325 x (1/12) = RM14.89583333333333 = RM14.90. I should be getting RM14.90 ut I got RM15.18

Try to deposit RM 5500 for one more month, then you will know whether the bank calculate the interest by total days in a month or by 1/12 year   tongue.gif

If my calculation is correct, next month the interest you will receive is

RM5500*30/365*3.25% = RM14.69
*
Sorry. My mistake. Anyway, I put it again RM5515.18 for a month. sweat.gif

Search for entire thread, didn't find anyone talking bout Mach early withdrawal.
Sharing my experience, need your expertise/guide on this.

On 28 Feb 2015, placed RM10,700 @ 4.00%p.a
Today, because of emergency, I needed the money, selected Partial Withdrawal, received the TAC, I was shocked with the receipt stated
Nett Withdrawal Amount (MYR) 10,593.88 and my FD account has gone from the list in Mach FD.

With frustration and disappointment went to the nearest Mach center, they couldn't help but asked me to call direct to their helpline.

Feeling rip off and disappointed by what was advertised on Mach "Flexibility with Partial Withdrawals" & "The First Online Fixed Deposit that Allows Partial Withdrawals."

Question remains:
I'm absolutely clear that I select the 'Partial Withdrawal' but the system didn't let me key the amount I wish to withdraw. And it only came out Nett Withdrawal Amount at the end.

anyone tried public bank fd promo with the free samsung note 5?

Refer a few pages back. Someone did a comparison. You put Rm200k+ into another fd, the interest you get, is more than the note price. So not worth it. You will still have balance by flung for another fd

Where is the 5% interest rate for 3 months FD finish?
Can get amanah mpower platinum credit card?

Any fee charge if u no maintain Rm30000 after 3 months as advance customer?
Also, any fee charge for primier customer, if no maintian the min balance?
*
Yes, there are fees but I forgot how much. That's why is recommend to close account after that. After 3 months, interest go back to board rate. Account interest is negligible.

Hi sifus;

I'm noob over here thinking of parking my money in FD... I would like to ask some basic questions;

- When I put my money into FD for (say 6 months or 1 year), will I be able to withdraw & use the earned-interest every month...? (For example if my interest is RM100 per-month, then will I be able to withdraw that RM100 to use every month?)

- What is a CASA account? (A requirement by Maybank to open FD...)

I'm thinking about eFD here...

I want to be able to withdraw & use the interest-earned; every month (is there such thing?)...

Regards.

CASA = current account or saving account.

Only bank with high interest rates giving monthly interest is Bank Rakyat. Your deposit must be >RM5k. No eFD gives monthly interest. Certain banks give half yearly interest if deposit >12 months.

Alliance bank also have monthly but their interest not as high as BR (according to first page)

Yeah I guess there are always risk to take...

BTW, about BANKRAKYAT's Term Deposit Account-i as seen here http://www.bankrakyat.com.my/term-deposit-account-i

It stated;

Special Features:

- Profit rate is determined at the opening of an account
- Deposit of more than RM5,000, profit is paid monthly
- Automatic renewal upon request
- Deposit Certificates may be used as collateral for other Syariah-compliant financing
- Takaful coverage

For the bolded part, does it mean that if I am parking my money in there for (say 60 months @ 4.50%); I will be able to withdraw the interest every month for my personal use...?

Still very noob to FD here lel...

Interest will be credited monthly into the account of your choice. (any bank). Not sure if they will charge you IBG charges if is not BR.

I think this BankRakyat's Term Deposit Account-i is a very suitable one (to meet my criteria).

If BankRakyat needs to charge for crediting the interest over to my Maybank SA, then I guess I would just go to open SA in BankRakyat right... smile.gif

Better contact BR for more info. If auto transfer to maybank SA, I think just few sens. Ask them for more info.
