in b4 EA ruins it with shit.
To be honest, after a whole slew of disappointment, I aint putting any hope in any new EA games. Despite how awesome BF4 looks like. |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Jun 11 2013, 08:57 AM) in b4 EA ruins it with shit. It's was an EA game in the first place, it's a game that commercially was not too successful and if we're honest with ourselves lucky to get. It's entirely their IP to ruin.To be honest, after a whole slew of disappointment, I aint putting any hope in any new EA games. Despite how awesome BF4 looks like. The only way they could ruin the game was if they gave in to the COD crowd who didn't understand why the gunplay sucked and that the best way to play the game was as a time attack/parkour simulator. In regards to micro transactions, ME1 was all about the players skill and to a large extent muscle memory - very hard to implement "pay to win" - and i certainly hope they don't introduce things like levelling perks like just about every other first person shooter these days. |

It is gonna be very likely that they will made it to appeal CoD fans or whatever mythical audience they are aiming for. Considering how they had ruined most of their franchise, I wont see why I wont happen. They can turn a survival horror to another damn action game.Or a beautifully paced and well designed multiplayer warfare game to a CoD clone with 64 players. Or turn a RPG series that brings back the feel of older CRPG to a piece of crap. Or that ridiculous multi coloured explosions while they promised that you'll see your decisions from previous 2 games affect your ending. Real Racing to a very annoying to play free to play crap. PvZ becomes a damn free to play too. Medal of Honor as a CoD clone, to the point even the consultants who are real life soldiers of the game actually left the team. Sim City, what the hell was that bug ridden always online crap to even begin with? Turning a cartoony, intriguing looking Overstrike to a dull, grey and brown game called Fuse. And the list goes on and on. What makes you think that they wont ruin Mirrors Edge in similar fashion to the ground or turn it to an action game with some parlour in a death match setting? The problem is all EA cares are profits, not making intriguing games while making money with some goodwill. |

Considering how they had ruined most of their franchise, I wont see why I wont happen. EA have had their fair share of stinkers no doubt but I've also enjoyed some of the games that you mentioned above. If they ruin a franchise then don't buy into it, it's as simple as that. I enjoyed Dead Space 1 and 2, heard about DS3's co-op and I got off the train there. I'm sorry that Mass Effect 3 sucked for you but at the same time I enjoyed the game so much that i bought the game on both console and pc. Just vote with your wallet, is what I say. They can turn a survival horror to another damn action game.Or a beautifully paced and well designed multiplayer warfare game to a CoD clone with 64 players. The problem is all EA cares are profits, not making intriguing games while making money with some goodwill. All game developers care about profit. Mirror's Edge was always a gamble for them which never really paid off. I'm just happy they're willing to give it another chance - that's goodwill there already. At the same time, why let developer rage cloud your expectations over the game? For me Mirror's Edge 2 is a gift - and I'm looking forward to the coverage. If they introduce COD perks or some weird co-op crap then i won't get it. Simple as that - they have to make me want to buy ME2 and it's not like there's a shortage of games to play that I need to rely on ME2 as the last hope. I'm also glad they've not made faith more Moe. |

Looks like only time will tell for now.
Don't forget to add Battlefield 3 into the list. The one game I got Origin for and gave it away later lol. |

I'm really happy to see Mirror's Edge 2. I thought the original ME was something really different and fresh.
I also liked the world and it's backstory and was really interested to find out more about it. I thought it had potential. Like you guys mentioned though, hopefully they don't sell out and turn it into a gun happy shoot fest. |

Finally...
Hope EA will not ruin it. Last time the visual was so stunning, the perspective, the color, visual presentation... Hope this new Frostbite can do it justice. |

A new Mirror's Edge game was officially revealed at the Electronic Arts' press event at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo in June 2013, to be released on next-generation consoles and PC.[91] The game is suspected to be a prequel to Mirror's Edge showcasing the origins of Faith,[92] and will use the newer Frostbite 3 engine.[93] Electronic Arts later confirmed that the game will be "open-world action adventure".[94]
from Wiki, I think games like this would suit better in an open world than the various set peices of maps on each level. It gets better in my book so far. |

I have been meaning to play this game Mirror's Edge but never got a copy yet. I like the parkour concept, it is refreshing to have the freedom to just run over obstacles without stopping. I look forward to the reboot
Somehow looking at the trailer, it reminds me of an old pc game called Oni, featuring a female heroine taking down armored security personnel with melee fighting. My cup of tea This post has been edited by Nam226: Jun 14 2014, 06:54 PM |

I bought it when on sales sometimes ago no Amazon. Around $4.99 if not mistaken. What i'm most interested in ME2 (Mirror's Edge.. not Mass Effect Somehow looking at the trailer, it reminds me of an old pc game called Oni, featuring a female heroine taking down armored security personnel with melee fighting. My cup of tea It will look awkward if Faith out a sudden having a bubble shield? Or maybe an ability that slow time to evade bullets? I think it will be wrong if Faith suddenly have a pistol and kill people? But i don't think that's the flavor of the game. Since Faith is a fast runner, it make sense to have a slow time ability for 2-3 secs that you can evade bullets (just like Matrix?) so that you don't get owned if there's too many guards with SMGs. |

Yeah, with the advancement of new tech, the older games are slowly and slowly disappearing from our mind making way for new games. I'm honestly very surprised there is someone who knows Oni still!!
I will wait for the sales season then. Haha..yeah, when you mentioned ME2, Arch, I straight away thought of Mass Effect 2, can't believe how powerful the impact of Mass Effect series has on me "I kind of like the fast run and fly kick, disarming and stuff. The only real fear is when there's too many people shooting at you and you will die fast." - Exactly! I don't mind if they include a pistol or ability to pick up guns dropped by the enemies. I just hope I can choose to play it my way with quick CQC melee takedown. And that will definitely need a special ability like slow-mo or health regeneration after combat to make it less frustrating dealing with multiple SMG guards all over the place firing at you. |

QUOTE Hello everyone, Two years ago we revealed that we were making a new Mirror’s Edge™. Last year, we gave you a behind the scenes look into some of the early progress we had made. And though we haven't said much else in all that time, we have been listening. Thank you for your incredible passion and your patience. I'm excited to tell you that it's paid off — by this time next week, you will have finally seen more of the game at E3. Mirror’s Edge has always had a special place in the hearts of all of us at DICE. The first game had a lot of promise. It was unlike anything else in terms of the gameplay and style — it had a unique soul. But as much as we loved that game, we knew it could be more. So that’s what we have set out to do as we introduce Mirror’s Edge to a new generation. The team has spent a lot of time re-evaluating every aspect of the game and making it a new experience. This is not a sequel, this is not Mirror's Edge 2. We have landed on a vision that honors the first game — pushing the boundaries of first person movement and diving deeper into the story behind our heroine Faith — but also brings a lot of great new, interesting gameplay and features to the experience for our players. So on behalf on the entire team here at DICE, we can’t wait to show you what we have been pouring our heart and soul into. We can’t wait to introduce you to Mirror’s Edge™ Catalyst. http://www.mirrorsedge.com/?utm_campaign=m...38568173=1#blog |
