QUOTE(silentsunami @ Jul 6 2015, 06:15 PM) one was the first generation Panasonic aircond with ionizer back in 2001 and another was just 2 years ago. deluxe non inverter with econavi. for both, i spent close to 1k on repairs. enough to buy me another aircond. but what cheese me off is the poor technical support these days once ur aircond is over 1 year old. Panasonic gives u numbers to call and arrange yourself third party to come to repair. first number that i called, told me they're full for the next 3 weeks! second number that i called told me they don't service my area! wtf. i had to call back Panasonic and then they gave me two more numbers to call. 'fantastic' serviceThis post has been edited by cedyy: Jul 6 2015, 06:30 PM |

QUOTE(silentsunami @ Jul 6 2015, 06:40 PM) the first one spoilt within 3 years. pcb spoilt, fan motor spoilt, louvre side connector to swing motor broke- cannot swing because of that. hardly used some more. i don't know what happened to it after that cos i sold my condo already. the one bought 2 years ago, already had problem when installed! and just two months ago, gave problem again. cos me a bomb to repair and some more had to wait 4 days. |

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Jul 7 2015, 10:29 AM) No warranty??? standard warranty. one year for indoor unit and 5 for outdoor. Panasonic SOP now is.. once ur unit is more than 1 years old, they'll ask you to go call their contractors. looks like they outsource the repair work these days like Samsung. But Samsung at least will arrange the contractor to come repair unlike Panasonic who give you numbers and ask you to call yourself. this is bad customer service.Dont know about you but mine is 5 years warranty on both Compressor and Electronics... |

QUOTE(swgiant @ Apr 16 2016, 05:50 PM) few years back i bought 2 units panasonic inverter nkh model. since last year, 1.5hp starting to give me headache issue! Last year PCB spoilt, caused RM 500 to repair! just now H11 error code appear again, compressor is not kicking, auto shutdown, red led blinking! Plan to change whole this lemon unit! one of my panasonic unit also had pcb problem and had to be replaced. fan motor also had to be replaced. another panasonic unit within 1 month, the pcb for the ionizer light had to be replaced as there was rust on it! panasonic aircond quality is really down the drain these days. the one brand that gave me the most headache at home and at office. installed at office only because Panasonic is our customer. the one thing that really turned me away from Panasonic was after my unit spoiled and warranty was over, they gave me number of outside contractors to come to repair. they don't even bother to call for you! even the service sucksThis post has been edited by cedyy: Apr 16 2016, 06:24 PM |

QUOTE(habaapaaa @ Apr 15 2016, 08:08 PM) Hey i am planning to install aircond: the latest York models which is now under Johnson Controls, are quiet. even the outdoor unit is surprisingly quiet unlike the old York models produced by OYL Malaysia. Panasonic non inverter models' outdoor unit is noisy- has pulsating sound and loud 'kruk' sound when it stops.1hp non inverter, R410a. Install in bedroom, so need to be quiet. York ywm3f10aas (indoor) or Panasonic better? Any sifus have experience on these 2 models? Please advice! Thank you very much! This post has been edited by cedyy: Apr 16 2016, 06:34 PM |

QUOTE(TXSim @ Apr 16 2016, 06:41 PM) CS-C9NKH. non inverter premium model back that time. when first installed, the compressor made a very loud pulsating and swishing sound. my opposite neighbour also can hear. embarassing. when first called, it wasn't even Panasonic who came, they called a contractor to see what's the problem. the guy couldn't solve it and had to call a Panasonic guy to come. he could only reduce the pulsating noise and swishing sound. till today, have to live with the stupid sound. no more panasonic. i had the other panasonic unit at one of my condo replaced. this remaining one i moved it to guest room. |

QUOTE(TXSim @ Apr 16 2016, 07:01 PM) OK. You have to ask authorized person from Panasonic to fix your air conditioner. i did not call third party to come to repair. i called Panasonic and Panasonic called their contractor to come to repair. When their contractor couldn't solve, then only Panasonic sent their own people. FYI, Panasonic cannot cope with the increasing problems. they have to outsource. be warned, especially when ur indoor unit warranty is over, if your aircond got problem, they will give you their contractors number to call yourself. they will not call for you!For me using Inverter type no problem. CS-S10RKH used one year. Third party who repaired or whatever will void the warranty. Sorry to hear that you have issue with Non-Inverter type. |

QUOTE(TXSim @ Apr 16 2016, 07:08 PM) OK. Warranty over or still warranty? the first and second time was under warranty. i called Panasonic and they arranged either contractor or their own people to come. the third time was after 2 years, the customer service just asked me if my unit is more than one year and i told her yes. then she said i have to call the contractors myself. she asked me where i live and gave numbers of contractors around that area. the best thing was, all the contractors whom i called told me their appointments are full! i have to wait more than 2 weeks! i had to call Panasonic again and release my anger at them and they gave me more numbers to call!!! is this the kind of service u expect? at least Samsung will call for you and follow up for you even after your warranty is over. No such thing that giving contractor number. Which brand are you going to choose next? i'm not the only one with this problem, there are other forummers who went through the same thing as me. pray hard that your Panasonic aircond doesn't give u problem. so far i'm happy with my Mitsubishis, Toshibas and York. not a single problem. QUOTE(TXSim @ Apr 16 2016, 07:17 PM) OK. I have old Panasonic Air conditioner non-inverter type used more than 20 years. yes, their customer service hotline. the Panasonic airconds from year 2000 when they introduced the ionizer feature, that's when their qc went downhill. the old models esp under National brand were solidI feel like Samsung new triangle design is not good as expected. Noise after installed. You called Panasonic via Hotline? Sorry to hear this kind issue. i don't have Samsung aircond, but washing machine and fridge. both has rosak once and even after warranty over, Samsung will still arrange contractors to come to attend. they will not give numbers and ask u to call yourself! QUOTE(TXSim @ Apr 16 2016, 07:28 PM) After 1 month installed then kong? yes, mine is non inverter premium model with econavi and nanoe G function. u can imagine my frustration when within the first month, already so many issues with the aircond. and after 4 years it gave me problem again. what's past is past. i wont want to live through the nightmare again. i will only consider Panasonic for kitchen appliances.I think it could be package problem. We are using Inverter air conditioner with ECONAVI and NANOE-G. |

QUOTE(TXSim @ Apr 16 2016, 07:49 PM) Toshiba and Carrier are not good. i have 4 units of Toshiba, 2 Mitsubishi, 2 Panasonic, 2 Sharp, 2 Trane, 1 York (latest by johnson controls) , 2 Acson, 1 Hitachi. You can consider York, Mitsubishi, LG and Hitachi. York, Daikin and Acson are the same company. York and Daikin have new models. Both have different design. Acson old design but have wallpaper design. I can't vouch for Trane or Sharp as these were installed by developers at my condo units and i do not know how much my tenants use them but so far no complains from them after more than 2 years. as for the Toshibas, combined together , the Toshibas have the longest working hours and none have given me any single problem for the last 10 years. don't even have to pump gas. Mitsubishi also no problem. Panasonic countless of problem even have to go the customer service office to buy replacement part for the flap. Hitachi broke down once. the acson didn't breakdown but only the compressors are damn noisy and making booming and clanking noise. i guess i don't have luck with panasonic. the Daikin models, if they are those models with technology inherited from OYL days, they're no good. York is no longer under Daikin. it has been sold to Johnson Controls and now made in China. but i must say, i'm impresed with the quiet compressor of their latest models. QUOTE(win44 @ Jul 22 2016, 10:39 AM) I bought two units of mitsu aircon. they came with a large filter and two small filters. the small filters "dissolved" when washed, like tissue paper. Those small filters are not supposed to be wet washed. Supposed to vacuum and they have a life spanWithout these small filters, the aircon slowly accumulated lots of dust and got clogged. I had to clean the aircon slits, and make my own filter. I reccomend checking the small filters, make sure they are washable before buying. Mitsu aircon was good coz it is quiet. My Sharp aircon is noisier. |

QUOTE(westley0214 @ Nov 22 2016, 08:50 PM) Lower hp air con is more efficient in removing humidity coz the compressor run longer, making the cooling coil to stay cooler for longer time. As a result, more moisture condense on the coil and being removed/drained. to me that's the downside of inverter airconds...feel cool yet uncomfortable at the same time due to the humidity levelHigher hp air con might cool the room fast, but not effective in removing humidity. Lower humidity normally means more comfortable condition coz our body can dispose sweat more easily. |

QUOTE(voscar @ Jan 26 2019, 05:21 PM) Just installed Daikin 1.5hp non inverter R32 FTV35PV1L model, replacing my 20 year old Toshiba. What a bad decision! The outdoor compressor motor has noisy grunt. It is not a vibration but a motor operating tone, sitting inside also can hear the noise. My older Toshiba is much silent, damn regret now. Thought everyone praise Daikin is good so I didn't go for Panasonic or Acson I still have a 17 yr old and 24 yr old toshiba air cond at home and both running fine and compressor hardly noisy. Those batch of toshiba were made under jv with carrierThis post has been edited by cedyy: Jan 26 2019, 09:21 PM pigduck liked this post

QUOTE(sle7in @ Feb 8 2019, 06:18 PM) Guys. Any thoughts about York aricond by JC? I saw the price is quite tempting in shopee for 1.5 hp non inverter unit. Is it comparable with Daikin/Mitsubishi/Panasonic? I've a York 1.5hp non inverter by JC. Compressor is surprisingly quiet and indoor unit too. 3 years already and use at least 8 hours every day |
