Hi guys. Need opinion.

My parent just installed the Sharp aircon AHA9RDVat their house, 3 weeks ago. During first 2 days, they said the aircon is cool enough (temp set around 22-23 and using comfort mode).
However last week they start complaining that the aircon is not soo cold. Even they set temp 20, they are not satisfied with the cooling provide by the aircon. feels like panas2.

Its any sign that the aircon is problem or the weather nowadays are too hot to be cold? tongue.gif Purchase the aircon less than 1 month. icon_question.gif

Hi, guys. I just own the carrier aircon (1hp non inverter) last month. Recently, my parent said that the aircon are not cold as it does. They said that although set to 19c, but sometimes the compressor didn't spinning and inactive for long period.

Do I need to call carrier for checking? Thanks

Smell not related the brand name, if you got staircase or height enough, then slightly open on air blade until can see internal fan blower, follow by used touch light pointing in, would be notice the thicken dusty on blower.

So you might hire someone for cleaning already smile.gif

really ar? Just purchase my aircon one month ago. sweat.gif I just checked and my blade still clean, no dust stick. yg peliknya when I try to turn on aircon and until I hear the compressor start, the smell is there.
after compressor start, no more smell laugh.gif

Hi all.

I have one carrier aircon which brought on last year (nov).
The problem arise when the unit is turn on for more than 4 hours, the aircon sometimes wont blow cool air. Checked with the compressor, the compressor stop but after few minute it began to start and the cool air being to blow out.
But the problem is the compressor stop too frequent and although I set 17, the room not soo cool as compare to other aircon.

Already call carrier service and the technician already came 2 times and the refuse to repair or change since during they visit, the aircon works well and no problem arise.

What should I do now?
*sorry for bad english* tongue.gif

The dumb question is, did you take out the filter and clean?
Looks like the cooling coil are severely blocked.

after several hour and the aircon become less cool

Hi guys.
Last saturday I appointed a contractor to relocate my aircon within same room. The 1st the air was cold until yesterday the aircon didn't blow cold air anymore. Also there is no water coming from drainage. Just now I check, there was a ice on the fin inside aircon.

I already contact the installer. Just wondering, what cause of this? hmm.gif

freezing of coil normally suggests low refrigerant pressure that may be caused by
1. dented piping
2. low gas

Based on your description, it seems to be low gas.
It is possible that there may be refrigerant leakage from the system.

Thank you. If the gas leak, does it take time to repair? The installer that I appointed didnt come pulak today. So frustated.

1)Get AC contractor to troubleshoot and fix the leak then purge (into capturing tank) and refill? Is the pipe leaky in the first place or poor workmanship ie leak occurred at flaring nut? The second is easier to fix. If it's the first, I suggest to replace the pipes with better ones like Inaba Denko paircoil. The insulated pipes are sturdier and high quality. All depend on how it's installed and if there are kinks where pipe are laid.

2)Wow, reading from your postings in this thread, strongly hints of poor worksmanship in the installation esp the existing piping if when you moved in or had the AC guy to install which to me is highly suspect. I recommend you get a good installer and redo the piping: take out and put in higher quality ones. Otherwise no matter what AC installed also will consistently face this issue. A good installation don't leak gas. In SG or even here, with regular maintenance by good AC guys, they last 10 years upwards and even 15 years or more.

3)Is your place landed or condo and are you located in Klang Valley? If so, depending on where you live, I can recommend an installer. You may want to contact forumer shadow_fax as he carries the piping I mentioned.

1) Actually it happen after few month the guy ( who relocation my aircon and service it) service my aircon. Yesterday he did came and say that my compressor is empty and he help to refill. And he mention that if my aircon gas is nearly empty and got ice on fin, there must be leaking. As the aircon nearly reach 3 y/o, he said better change the new one (no sure he malas to do job or what

2) wow bro, you really update my issue. Thanjs rclxms.gif . I also suspect the same things but u know when ur family know one guy to do, you always stick to one guy no matter what (nasib duduk dgn family sweat.gif )

3) Landed 2 storey and in Klang Valley. ohh really sure I will contact him or you can pm me also laugh.gif

Thanks your your kind reply

p/s: after he refill the gas, the aircom seems to be cold as normal. Let see 1-2 weeks before its start to give issue. Will update thumbup.gif

Appreciate to know the brand n model?
First time heard indoor bocor, usually only the pipe leaking etc.
*
Its Sharp brand inverter model 2016

QUOTE(slimey @ Mar 7 2019, 08:52 PM)
indoor coil leak is quite common.........especially at all the C joints at both sides of the evaporator coil.
*
Correct. He said left side punya coil bocor a bit. Thats why when I refill gas, takes around 1 month to notice that the gas already finish
