QUOTE(nihility @ Mar 11 2022, 05:49 PM) Normally the developer will provide the piping based on the worst case scenario, meaning the pipe can be used for both inverter & non-inverter. Yes, the AC installer will be able to check & confirm. Thanks for the input..

Hi I measured the copper piping given by my developer are 12.7mm.. does it mean i can only install those aircond that fit 12.7mm? Most of them are 2hp and above... Can i install a 1hp 9++mm at the 12.7mm existing piping?

QUOTE(mini orchard @ Mar 15 2022, 04:17 PM) I doubt the developer will give 2hp piping for all. The safest is to confirm with the developer. Its semi D.. and i already measure all the piping by myself..

QUOTE(mini orchard @ Mar 15 2022, 04:33 PM) Cannot use 2hp piping for 1hp. I have used my original concealed 1.5hp piping for 1hp AC. In my opinion, not adviseable as performance drop. I did it because I didnt want to hack the wall and the AC is seldom use. Thans for the reply.. I believe 1.5hp piping is the same as 1hp which is around 9++mm.. so still ok to use.. look like i cant use back my old 1hp AC anymore.. haiz..

Please tell me this is acceptable?? Compressor copper diameter is 15++mm but my installer just use a smaller diameter copper piping as connection to the IDU..

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Mar 24 2022, 06:49 PM) 1 and 1.5 typically the same 9.52/6.35mm 2hp is 12.7/6.35mm My mitsubishi electric non inverter 2hp require 15++mm pipping.. So ya, better check the specification.. By the way, just found out my aircond man use a smaller piping, i think 12.7mm for my above air cond... Facepalm... What will happen in long run if i keep the same copper pipe?

By the way, my all other airconds are mitsubishi electric..

QUOTE(VeeJay @ Jan 4 2023, 01:11 AM) With 2.5HP, I presume you are sizing for a big room or its a hall? Hence whats important here is to check the BTU and the efficiency rating for both unit. Yeap its a living hall.. mitsubishi is around 21.9k btu while acson is 22k btu.. around the same.. both are 3 stars too haha..

Hi guys, what is the difference between these two wiring diagram.. is it a must to connect to outdoor unit first then only can connect to indoor unit? Or different brand have different connection way.. Can we connect indoor and outdoor through main incoming instead of going through indoor/outdoor unit?

QUOTE(Max @ Jan 18 2023, 02:25 PM) Depends on ac model. Usually hi hp 3.0 (above i think) use direct outdoor/compressor wiring 1st before go to internal blower. How do i check that? Boucher doesn't give any info.. my developer gave the wiring for direct indoor and direct outdoor.. If my AC need to connect through outdoor unit -> indooor, then i will have a big problem..

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jan 18 2023, 02:41 PM) What the hell is that first diagram? Saw my Samsung AC, external unit had 2 sets of connector whereas the internal unit only has a wire. Therefore it was quite obvious how the manufacturer wants you to connect it. Ur internal only have a wire? Then how u power up your indoor unit? What do u mean by 2 sets of connector..

QUOTE(Max @ Jan 18 2023, 03:31 PM) For house wiring, usually '1way' - (20a switch > internal > external) This is the normal commmon wiring type. Usually applicable to 2.5hp and below. U can check the ac spec ac spec. If ur ac hi hp type (power to external) then, u have abit problem lah.. What ac u getting? Mitsubishi electric mr slim inverter 2.5HP and 1.5HP.. May i know why usually 1 way? If indoor and outdoor unit is nearby (back to back) then 1 way is pratical to save wiring.. for my house, the indoor and outdoor is quite far.. Is there anything wrong if the wiring is 2 way?

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jan 30 2023, 03:09 PM) I went with XU (but I didn't think the price diff so much , was like RM200-300 if not mistaken). So far so good, don't have XPU in the same room to compare lah but the XU does well. I am comparing 2.5hp.. maybe xpu is cheaper that time
