Long lasting is no longer an attractive selling point nowadays.

New technology coming out every few years. Especially more efficient and more energy savings.

Your old national fridge might still work for you today, but it's draining power like hell. Have you ever thought that changing to a new one, you can balik modal in one year?

Same goes for your old national air con.

There is no such thing that inverter air con only start to save electricity if switch on more than 6 hours. It's the biggest misconception I have ever heard.

Inverter air con start to save electricity once the set temperature is reached. In my case, it's only one hour.

By just switching on my air con for 5~6 hours per day average, my average electricity bill per month is RM30 lesser compared to previous. I know coz I have tried both.

just like my parent
water heater when on, need hit the heater few time only got heat come out
ask technician come to change new one, he say still can use, no need change, waste money, just fix it.

few month later, same problem, ask him come, he say than no choice have to install new one. that how they earn money.

same air con, come to service, say still ok no need change, less than a year problem come.
than this time i go buy myself, installer come check old one, compresser kaput, indoor pcb kaput

want repair compresser 300++, pcb 400++, he say you smart go buy new one, more worth than repair one old.

My Daikin inverter aircon FTKD 2hp died recently  (cannot turn on, only fan mode works) and the repairman said that the electronics/pcb died and fixing it would not be worth it. I can't remember exactly the reasons given but one of them he said was that the model was out of production and it would be more expensive to get parts.

So I need recommendations in the 1.5hp-2hp range. Even when it was working correctly, the cooling power for the FTKD Daikin was quite mediocre for a 2hp aircon.
I'm looking at Panasonic inverter models (premium/elite) and want info on durability/cost savings etc.
